won't be as effective as usual against a southpaw
Cotto hasn't had any real trouble with Southpaws.
It could be a good fight. And interesting to see how Cotto would approach this fight. It would be very tough for him to get inside because of the height and the reach. You could tell that it was even a problem for the 5'11 Marg.
But I think you guys underestimate Williams heart/chin. He took some tough body shots (a few which were very low) and he took some tough hooks. I don't see how you think he couldn't take a good punch. It's not like he's running away for the most part he would fire right back or duck out of the way. Anyway I would lean to picking Williams. I have always thought he would be able to beat Cotto even before the Margarito fight.
Margarito had key chances to really hurt Williams inside but he didn't do anything. He didn't throw enough combos and his body shots are not as effective as Cotto's. Williams admitted he was rocked a few times after that fight, Cotto would knock him out.
And Hatton doesn't have one KO as a Welterweight so who cares. Hatton looked like shit against Collazo, now envision Mayweather fighting him and making him work harder. Coming back at 147 to fight the top ranked fighter of that division when you looked like shit the first time fighting someone who's only decent is not a good idea. If Hatton really does want to fight Mayweather, he should fight Malignaggi and then someone else at 147. Malignaggi has great hand speed, Hatton could get a good feel on how to fight against Mayweather later on. However, Mayweather would most likely be retired for good or busy with other things by then. Hatton's ego just got the best of him, he should of never opened his mouth. But if Mayweather moves down to 140 to meet Hatton and fights in the UK, Hatton should take it. It's not like Mayweather would have a problem going that low, he only weighed in at 150 against DLH plus he could ensure himself of retiring afterwards. Doesn't even fucking matter anyways, both of these fighters don't want to fight each other, egos are hard to control.
That would be Mayweather. Klitschko got it easier (being bigger than 90% of his opposition due to the no weight limit). Mayweather is a better example. Can box going forward AND while going back. Can fight on the inside (Oscar) and on the outside (Baldomir). The most complete. In the HW Klitschko is the better fighter of all but don't forget is huge physical advantages over 90% of the opposition. Congrats to his mom and dad i guess :ugh:
Well, the thread is about favorites, not who's actually the best at which style. You're right, he's a superb fighter, but like many people think, he's boring to watch.
Margarito really suprised me when he boxed the second half the fight. Paul Williams had Margarito not enabling him to do anything. Something just clicked for Margarito, and he found a way to fight back. Margarito would definately have a much better chance in an intriguing rematch.
Cintron would also have a better chance against Margarito, but even if he had both hands healthy, it'd still be a tough one. I'd have to give Margarito that one, a close match, but almost is never a win.
It is a bit unfair to take away credit from Gomez, but knockouts are knockouts. That right cross was crazy, Gomez certainly has my attention for his next fight.
No way Cotto is going to fight Margarito now... He should just go for Mosely, fighting Margarito would be a nice dodge from Paul Williams. Yeah, I'm up for watching a rematch between Williams/Margarito, I think Margarito could pull off a UD if they did.
O.O!
Interesting to note there are less votes for Wlad, a guy who has tasted canvas 12+ times than for Cotto who has yet to be legitimately KD.
Cotto went down twice against Soto in the first round early in his pro career, a guy who beat him in the amateurs. Wlad has the worst chin, Cotto with the second worst.
Hatton Vs. Mayweather at 147
Mayweather UD, there's your first lost for Hatton in November if it happens. I don't see why Hatton would want to continue from there. He has nothing to prove at 140, yet he's not good enough for 147.
I don't think Mayweather would lose, but it'd be fucking halarious to see him cry. Hatton would be top and I'd like to see where he would move on from there. Higher level opposition for sure.
The internet is amazing.
Why do people hurl insults that they wouldn't in person? I'm guessing that you RARELY insult somebody you don't know to their face.
But here on the net, when there's no chance of the guy beating the spit out of you, people throw words around so easily.
This is a forum man, people are going to disagree with each other. You're acting like this is the first time you've been on the internet. It's not the most extreme that's ever been posted... wow.
His username idea was from an anime show anyways so who cares.
Mayweather UD.
You should mock him to his face next time.. lol.. That'd be HILARIOUS.
You hypocrite, this is a fucking forum, most of every active users mock other boxers/announcers/trainers/promoters/users all the time. :gives:
Just laugh and don't kill the thread by posting shit like that.
I didnt say knockout I said TKO , that means cuts or the ref steps in , if Floyd has him anywhere like Collazo had him , his pin point accuracy will get the ref involved ,, I like Ricky Hatton but Floyd has way to many skills and speed for Ricky , it will be a one sided fight , it will be easy work for Floyd .
I never referred to your post, I always quote. I know what TKO is.
