Mine would have to be Chad Dawson's win over Adamek. It was Dawson's first title shot and not only did he clearly win most rounds but he showed alot by getting up and winning the rest of the fight after the 10th round knockdown.
kelly pavlik isnt my #1 favorite fighter, but his performance against miranda was fantastic. when i went to bed that night, i was still smiling.
I second that one. That fight was like a adrenaline rush, I had a natural high for like 2 hours after that fight and watched it again on Demand the next morning. I'd also say:
Wlad - Brock
Mayweather - DeLaHoya (Mayweather dominated and put on a boxing clinic, I don't care what anyone else says)
when your favorite fighter is getting hammered, being banged around like a rag doll....and manages to dig deep, real deep, showing nothing but pure heart...and comes back and knocks the guy out!
That was Miguel Cotto against Ricardo Torres. Unbelievable perserverance!
do you realize that makes no damn sense at all.. mclellan was cleary and easily winning the fight .. it was a freak accident
WTF are you joking benn came back and smashed the guy at the end so what if mclellan was winning. benn came back hard
Barrera is my favourite fighter and for me, Barreras performance against Naseem Hamed was his best performance, he was an underdog and it was his first fight at 126lbs i think, he was moving up in weight to face hamed who was the recognized number 1 fighter in the featherweight division, and he totally outboxed him and made Hamed look like an ameteur that night, for me that was barreras best performance of his career, he fought the perfect fight that night. Barrera said for weeks leading up to the fight that he was going to brawl and go toe to toe with hamed like he did against erik morales, and that seemed to confuse hamed because barrera done the complete opposite, he boxed beautifully and countered hamed, that night naseem hamed had no answers for barrera that night. and barrera banging naseem hamed head in the ring post and saying "whos you daddy?!" in the last round put the icing on the cake for me :boxing:
also a close second was his 3rd fight with erik morales, barrera was written off after being stopped by manny pacquiao and he went up in weight again 130lbs to fight the number 1 fighter in that division and he beat morales to show that he was back!!!!!
if barrera can beat the pacman this october, then i think that will be his best performance of his career, because he will have to fight the perfect fight to beat pacquiao.
I think people are misunderstanding the meaning of this thread. It says "What's the best performance of your favorite fighter?" AKA Pick one fighter and pick one performance. I can understand having multiple favorite fighters, but they can't have multiple "best" performances.Your observation is certainly not without merit, but I suggest you broaden your perspective a bit. Some fighters have such a consistently high level of excellence, it's difficult to isolate just one best performance. "Best" doesn't necessarily have to mean a single performance; it could also represent an elite body of work, like "The Best of Frank Sinatra."
