everyone saw just how much those left hooks to the body hurt williams. shit, margarito damn near downed him with those bodyshots. and miguel cotto has the best left hook in the game.
williams would probly stay away, throw flurries, probly cut up cotto's face a little, maybe even stagger cotto. but cotto, as displayed in his fight with torres, has shown that he can whether the storm and rely on the left hook to break his opponent down and inevitably stop them. thats williams weakness: the left to the body.
williams is a tough fighter, good handspeed, excellent workrate and stamina, and hes got good technique. but his defense is tying up, he cant fight on the inside, and he clearly cant take a bodypunch.
cotto by mid-round KO.
P.S. im not hating williams. i like watching him fight. but cotto's bodypunches will make him shit blood.
This is an interesting matchup and all..
But it may be better off in the 'Fantasy Fights' section.
Bob Arum is acting like he thinks Paul Williams would beat Cotto's ass.
Cotto has a chance.. he's a short fighter.. for his weight division and this particular opponent. However, he's a bodypuncher, and agianst a tall opponent, you're trying to get lower anyway. Williams doesn't hit too hard, and Cotto took some decent shots from Judah. Williams has a decent beard, but I think it can be cracked. That with a GREAT body attack, gives Cotto a good chance. Also....
Cotto = NOT one-dimensional.. He's just so good at ONE of his skills, that that's all he's needed to really use. He can move around there, and when he's about to finish you, watch him bounce about the ring.. When he gets his jab going, it's not THAT slow either. Pretty fast, especially for a thudding puncher.
what makes you think that he will be able to get to williams??
what makes u think that williams wont prepare to defend his body more after the marg fight??
just review how Cotto dismantled Judah & Malignaggi.
the only thing Williams can be proud of is his height & reach.
I think Williams proved he can take a lickin' and keep on tickin'. Margarito hit him with some hard body shots that seemed to hurt him, but he kept fighting through them. Margarito was also hitting him low on the right hip alot too. After round 11 Williams was limping from shots to his hip joint.
its because Marge is too damn slow, if he could punch as fast as Cotto he would surely break down Williams.
what makes you think that he will be able to get to williams??

I think Cotto against Williams is a bad matchup for Cotto. He has those short ass T-Rex arms & would take alot of punches to get inside of Williams. Cotto more than likely wouldn't be hurt by Williams but would be getting tagged by the much taller fighter who knows how to use his height & wouldn't stop punching for 12 rounds.
lmao. very funny
:lol1: :lol1:
at first i thought cotto, then i thought williams, now i think cotto again. too strong and relentless. williams cant hit that hard, and cotto can take punches and come back stronger. body shots will be off the hook on williams small lean body, miguel will eat those ribs for dinner, they'll slide right off the bone...
Cotto is like 5'6" w/67" reach. It would be like Manute Bole fighting a hobbit.
And Cottos chin is ehhh.
Williams cant make powerful uppercuts like Judah, I daresay Cotto's gonna KTFO Williams.
pretty sure lil midget cotto can't even reach williams and will be sent back to one dimensional land where he came from
you've been disqualified as a poster.
suggesting cotto is one-dimensional is like saying marvin hagler couldn't punch.
hahaha, listen to the elites.
won't be as effective as usual against a southpaw
that's right! but did you forget that Cotto "is" a natural southpaw that fights orthodox??!!! Switch hitter....damn, I can hear those ribs cracking from here!
marg was a horrible match up for cotto... williams is a little better match up but this fight won't happen mark my words they will steer cotto clear of williams
Regardless of who would win this fight (I think Williams would beat him, not easily, but he would), this is the matchup I wanna see. Not a rematch with Marg, not Clottey or Cintron, I wanna see these two, young, undefeated WW studs bump heads.
Fanboy:eek:
Damn I gotta brainstorm for awhile and get with my crew who tells me some hardcore retorts so I can come with something.
I mean that in the most respectful way. :fing02:
Try not to take any of this too personally, fanboy. :lol1:
Come with something. Not this silliness..

Oh Addison, your hate towards Cotto is so obvious...At first I though that you were a hardcore Zab Judah fan, now I see that you just hate Cotto.
Shows how much you know, fanboy. :wank:
I actually prefer Cotto in every way over Zab Judah.
Corley is not exactly a big puncher, but bigger than Williams (who isn't?). And Cotto reacted superbly to all such situations (nothing at all wrong with a low blow). But regardless, Cotto is a better all around fighter, better boxer and puncher than Paul Williams.
