Damn - that'll be a solid war
They really put on a terrible card on May 3rd - looks like they're making up for that showcase card.
If no rematch - who the hell is he going to fight?
Cotto/Martinez - Nope; to quick of a turnaround + plus weight
Lara/Canelo - See above + even if Canelo wins - it's too quick of a turnaround from that public undressing Mayweather layed on him
Pac and TR stable - Nope
Kahn - I hope not - but c'mon ol' boy's religion can wait and he can make an exception. I doubt he'll be publicly executed for it. I say it's 50/50 that the fight happens
Matthyse - Sure he lost to Swift - but seeing Maidana have his success, and the fact that I think Matthyse is a better puncher and some more skills. He won his last fight and I think they can sell this whole Argentinian wave of bad-asses. I think this is 20-30% chance of it happening
Swift - This seems like the most likely option of available contenders. He didn't look great against Herrera and received a debatable decision - I think fighting Floyd will have him perform better. I think this is the likely option - 70% chance of happening
Marquez - this is my darkhorse longshot - Sure, it'll be another 12-0 shutout, but hey, Marquez has made dubious financial decisions in the past - I doubt he'll turn down a significant payraise at this age to make up for weird choices, and he'll receive much less punishment than he would against Pac. They can sell this new and improved Hulkquez with Tyson-esque punching power who's now a full figured WW unlike his debut. 10% chance
Not saying this will happen but what if Cotto knocks out Martinez early. I think it could be possible. Obviously a long shot, but interesting to see who mayweather fights if this rumor is true
Maidana is more deserving of the fight but realistically Khan gives Floyd a better challenge. Obviously he'd lose but if you're asking who'd win more rounds, I'll go with Khans speed rather than maidanas power. Which we'be seen Floyd negate plenty of times.
doesnt mean anything really, its just the facts.
Now could have floyd beat pacquaio in his prime, many in the boxing world didnt think so.
"Many" like who? Seems like you have an excuse ready if/when Floyd beats Pac. As if Floyd won't be in his prime also lol
Andre Ward just fights everybody.
He's tested himself against all of the best in his division, against all styles and I can't remember the last time he lost a round. He's never shown weakness and reveals new dimensions to his game in every fight.
Versus Floyd who handpicks his opposition. Also, I'm sorry but Canelo looked drained to me in the Floyd fight. I never seen Canelo fight so slow and without any pop. Just telling the truth.
you never saw him so slow and without any pop because he never fought a fighter with the speed and elusivness as Floyd. When someone fights Floyd you see the difference in skill. Even if the fight was at 154, nothing would've changed. Stop with the excuses.
:rofl::rofl:
the things a fighter with zero drawing power has to do on twitter to get a fight.
even changed his profile pic to a pic of canelo. some scary ****.
hope it gets made
So its some "scary s***" when a fighter will do everything in his power to try and secure a fight with another fighter to claim who's the best in the division? Some of you dudes is ass backwards
Two future first ballot hall of famers who many in the boxing world know. Throw in the fact that Hopkins with his size (assuming healthy) would pose a real threat at dethroning Floyd and giving him his first loss. Yes this fight could be HUGE.
Floyd's legacy is set, but Manny will still go down as a greater fighter. I think Floyd realizes that he can't really win with the public, media and experts regardless of the outcome of that fight if it were to take place, and will simply finish his career by fulfilling his contract with Showtime against other fighters.
I love manny, he is truly a great fighter and that's exactly what I'm tryna say. It doesnt matter who he fights because he will always be criticized for not fighting the next man. It's just laughable when they say the highest earning sports figure needs someone for a huge payday lol.
he wont fight him for the most money he can make in his life time. But this is a business.
He is scared. A 1st class Coward and a shame to the sport.
lol Floyd got money bro and will continue making lots of it with or without Pacquaio. He doesn't need him to get his "highest payday". Pacquaio needs Floyd to get HIS highest payday. You don't really think Pacquaio can beat Floyd, you're just so hurt inside your idol is broke that you want this fight so that he could get out of his tax and debt problems. lol aww you're a true fan. I respect that. If Floyd beats Pacquaio you still wouldn't give him credit, so let it go. Floyds legacy is set, Pacquaio will be remembed for getting ktfo by marquez.
He literally didn't do any of that. He even answered the question on SLR by saying he doesn't know how a fight between them wouldve played out, yet you still managed misinterpret that and come up with an assumption even after hearing him say it. Gotta love boxingscene.
ruslan can break floyd down quick with some bodyshots, or can win it on one clean hook
lara isn't explosive enough, too slow, he's got alright power and could hurt floyd should it land just right, but i wouldnt bank on it, lara imo gets made to look like guerrero, tagged by the right all night, except where guerrero can sort of fight on the front foot, not sure lara can, boring fight too
Floyd Provo would be just like the Hatton fight possibly even easier.
Funny how people hated the Alexander fight before and were ready to torch Floyd for it now they wanna see it. Alexander is terrible and that would be one boring fight. At least Khan will make it exciting. Much rather see Khan than Alexander.
Bradley has the best chance of the fighters you mentioned but he wont win either. Only fighters I can see beating or giving Floyd a run for his money are Rigondeaux and Ward, but obviously the weight for both are too much to overcome.
I don't know.
I don't know.
But what I do know is this.
Saul Alvarez vs Josesito Lopez @ 154.
Saul Alvarez vs 2x 154 pound champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. @ 152.
Heres what I also know.
Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez xs4
Manny Pacquiao vs Erik Moralez xs3
Manny Pacquiao vs Marco Antonio Barrera xs2
All alive and healthy.
Im with you the fight should've been at 154 but we both know even if it was it wouldn't of changed anything that night so whats the point. He would've still loss. And yes he fought lopez at 154, but that was a natural 140 pounder and I bet you considered it a great win too lol. Floyd says and is well known he's fighting in may and September, bob arum says Pacquaio is fighting in April. Freddie Roach wants marquez but will settle for Bradley and you guys still blame Floyd. Amazing
It would have changed a lot if the fight was at 154. Canelo would be fighting at his best weight where he wouldn't be drained and is hydrated. Canelo is still consider undefeated because of the catchweight:lol1:.
Considered undefeated to morons like you but in the real world when they announce his record, I'm pretty sure they'll add that one lost. Get over it. So a 154 "hydrated" Canelo wouldve beat Floyd right?
The Lopez fight was at 154. Even Josesito has more balls than Floyd. Went up two divisions to fight Canelo, and Floyd needed to drain him.
Why didn't he fight someone in his own weight class. Made a guy come up two weight classes but that's ok isn't it. Let me guess if the fight was at 154 Canelo would've murdered Floyd huh.
WHo cares???? the May-Pac fight is like 5 years past its selling point I am 100% confident if it happened now May would UD Pacman with ease. I don't know why it never happened but they screwed themselves out of a 100million dollar dealio
Actually Pacquaio did. Mayweather went on to get a 200 million dollar contract from showtime. If Pacquaio loses its an end of an era, nothing more. If he wins then maybe we get the mayweather fight but still no guarantee.
Anyone that thinks Floyd can fight whoever he wants and get 2 million buys is a f*cking fool. If its like that fight Lara or Garcia. Only reason Floyd wants to fight Khan is because he will help the numbers be big. That's it!!! This fight is a money grab!!! The Canelo fight in a way was too but atleast he had some serious legit momentum going into the fight and had a punchers chance. Khan doesn't have anything going for him except money.
lol I think/hope the "2 million buys with anyone" comment was sarcasm but honestly who the hell is out there for Floyd to fight that makes sense? Fans need to put the hate aside and realize the pac fight isn't happening for obvious reasons. Maybe later. GGG is too big and makes no financial sense. Thurman isn't a big money fight either. Now I would say Garcia deserves it but he isn't ready for that fight yet, give him one fight at 147 (which is what will happen) then make the fight with Floyd. So who's out there? Though I dont love it, Khan does make the most sense especially if the fight is in the UK. Nobody else out there realistically for Floyd to fight.
Doesnt matter, he isnt top 10 like joe louis.
Not even top 30
Hate is a female emotion bro, let it go. To answer the thread, it truly is amazing and he will surpass it. Floyd isn't my favorite fighter but I do appreciate talent when I see it.
Delvin, cotto aint shit but a knee taker.
Wladimir is no joke. Cotto is.
The joke is that guy wearing a cowboy hat with sunglasses and that shirt. Hopefully it isn't you
lol someone said Matthysse like he didn't just get his ass handed to him by Garcia. I honestly can't see anyone DEFEATING Mayweather. Who will give him fits is another story. Pacquaio and maybe Bradley. Garcia could make it fun. Khan will make it interesting for a few rounds but all these guys lose. Rigondeaux is the only boxer that can match up with Mayweather but that obviously won't happen.
Cotto jabs the hell out of Martinez and eventually breaks him down to the body. I love his chances in this fight. Two great fighters going at it for legacy and a huge payday. Everyone wins including us fans. How big of a percentage would yall give this fight of actually happening?
Exaggerate much??
Umm no. Matthysse was billed as the new Manny Pacquaio and posters all around here (don't know if it was you) were saying Matthysse was going to murder Garcia. That his dad was going to have to pick him up from the canvas and take him out on a stretcher. End result a knock down and fractured orbital bone. Exaggeration? No

That guy made a lot of money, lost it all. Lost a lot of his big fights. Is he jealous of Floyds success, we could argue that.
