while i'm a bit surprised too that WBC installed Pacquiao as the #1 mandatory, still it's funny to watch Floyd gets so shook every time he's asked about a PAC fight :lol1:
"you gotta realize this, everybody kept talking about the title, he's mandatory; he can have the belt."

Floyd: I only fight for the WBC. The only true boxing organization out there.
Pacquiao: I am #1 WBC Mandatory
Floyd: You can have my belt. Belts don't make me!!!!
Floyd: I only fight fighters coming off a win. Pacquiao only fights those coming off losses!
Pacquiao: I won over Rios. Why don't you fight me?
Floyd: I only fight fighters coming off a win. Pacquiao only fights those coming off losses!!!
Floyd: And Pacquiao, you're next!
Pacquiao: I'm ready to fight anytime, anywhere!
Floyd: I never said that!
Floyd: Poochiao, make me some sushi, you yellow bastard!
Pacquiao: I will pray for you Floyd.
Floyd: I never once made fun of Pacquiao!!!!
One's moving forward for now, fighting bums. I bet you're so proud.
He'll be broke in a few years, and come crawling back to boxing. We all know it.
I hope this doesnt happen because I do like Floyd but I want to him to stop avoiding Pac. I think once Floyd stops boxing he will keep spending money like he is still boxing. Hopefully he wises up.

If you say so Nostradamus
One moving forward the other moving back. It hurts some to know this.

Forward to Amir Khan. I do not care which way they are moving. I just want to see them fight.

How much more obvious can Floyd make this. For the past 5 years the world has been waiting and saying your scared and now you are giving him your belt. Is Pacquiao really that bad ass?! I guess so.
There's plenty of reasons. In my opinion its financially driven and both camps are in the same state of mind. Currently, both guys are still making millions fighting other boxers while using each other's names to promote themselves. If they fought, the loser would disappear from the PPV scene. Its not all that great for the winner either. For them future PPVs would be tougher to sell, since he's already beat the best challenger out there.
Since the fights been talked about in late 2008. Pacquiao PPVs have done 9 million in PPV buys and Mayweather has done 8.5 million buys. Compare that to the 2.5-3 million Mayweather v Pacquiao would have done.
Doesn't make sense now, you're talking back in 2008-2010. Floyd would need the fight to happen now, with his mandatory, or his highest pay day to date , and maybe in boxing history will soon dissappear if he doesn't jump on it now, like it almost happened two fights ago.
ANd that still doesn't explain why Floyd"Money"Mayweather wont fight what he calls "easy money", if its so easy why not just fight Pacquiao for his highest payday. Shuts people up, gets him the W, and walks off Richer than ever.
Exactly. It looks terrible on him because people expect him to beat Pac. Going so far out of his way to avoid the fight, with no legit resin for doing so, is an eyebrow raiser for sure. Wish he would just take this fight.
"Now you got Pacquiao talking about, 'You know what? I'm ready to take the tests now.' Well you coulda been took the tests a long time ago, you know. I think...his career has declined; now it's like, 'Okay, I'll do whatever now so I can get that big payday. It don't matter. I'll do whatever I got to do now.' It's like, well, you had your time, you know. I mean, you had your time. Now Canelo is in that spot and now Canelo said, 'I'll do whatever it takes,' so now we're fighting," stated undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather.
I don't want to dwell on the past, but as of the current situation, the ball of blame is on floyd's side. Pacquiao has indicated that he is willing to do all the things possible to fight this man, and then, we get arum changing his tune, sort of mellowing down his pride and i really feel he's opening himself up for any possible negotiation. What's the response of floyd? NO WAY, what's the response of schaefer? NO WAY. So you see, the ball is on floyd's now. As of the moment, they are the reason why not even a single formal negotiation is happening, they don't want the fight to happen, they are shutting the door down and letting their pride get in the way. Whether the ball changes hands later on, we'll see but it got to keep on moving for this fight to materialize.
People blame both sides but I don't believe Floyd truly wants to fight PAC. Floyd doesn't like talking punishment and he will get hit a lot against Pac even if he wins. Floyd only wants easy fights. Its easy work Floyd should put this rest. I think Floyd knows it will be a very tough fight no matter how many time Pac has been defeated.
I don't exactly disagree but I think it goes both ways but I don't think they are afraid of each other. Honestly, the vibes both have given at SOME point kind of hinted as them just going their own way. I do (unfortunately and reluctantly) give Floyd for initiating the "talks" and "trying" to make it happen first. All bulls hit aside he's got that on his side. I think everyone with some sense is in agreement that Floyd is a better fighter or at least...stylistically is a bad matchup for Pac.
Also, to the guy saying to be the man you have to beat the man and thats mostly true... But what needs reminding is that Pac has at no point ever beat the current top welter. Cotto was a good win but Shane was number 1 by FAR after KOing Marg. Floyd fought him after that and yes, Shane is old but he had pac and floyd shook. Remember Pac's team "Shane too good right now" or Floyd's look of fear when Shane went in the ring after Floyd's fight? Lol.
The only guy...if I ever HAD to say made Floyd nervous was Shane. The Pac situation has seemed more frustruation based in combination with him just being awkward and douchey. Pac has seemed at time just as reluctant and fed up with the Floyd thing as well.
Let's be frank if Pac..stylistically had his weaknesses incarnated into a person it would be Floyd. Pac brings nothing Floyd hasnt seen. I think it's safe to say Pac's power at WELTER has been blown out of proportion and hyped. He hurt Hatton (even Floyd KOd him) and Cotto who has always had a shaky chin. IF Pac landed, Floyd could take it. I dont think we can argue with that? Living vicariously through Maidana doesnt count. The guys saying if Maidana could do that to Broner imagine what Pac could to Floyd are delusional. I dont get how thats even relevant.. But anyway back ob topic. Pac is going to miss a lot, he'll chase all day and he'll get jabbed the entire night to the body or head and be constantly out of range. When he DOES get to Floyd it will not be enough. Floyd will fight how he fought Robert and just pot shot to death. That jab and lead straight will keep Pac out of distance for too long and even when Pac gets some work in, he'll have lost 2/3 of the round...
I do think pac has the potential to punish Floyd a bit IF he just went all offense and balls to the wall but we've seen him how he reacts to faints from guys as fast a him (Shane and Tim) his hesitation and awkwardness is extremely evident and lets not even mention Marquez counter punching ability.. Honestly, pac is just not enough of a brute to do it... And even if he WAS all that does is make the fight more interesting.. Its still not a winning scenario .. The only scenario where pac wins *IMO* is a KO.. And most of the crazy fanatics only have him winning in that fashion. Wanting him to KO Floyd (Which I do) doesnt mean he can... Floyd naturally leans away from Pacs straight left and has the right hand covering his face. Unless pac is willing to risk it and overcomit, he would have to over extent with the left to even reach Floyd's face and Floyd's counter left hook is too good to let it happen... Not to mention his sniper like counter straight right.
Look, I pray to the boxing gods as much as anyone for Pac to KO Floyd but I personally can never envision a realistic scenario where Pac doing what he does best is good enough to overcome Floyd at what HE does best.
Floyd no longer needs Pac. He needed Pac at his most dangerous, now if he were to beat Pac Marquez and age woukd just be brought up (even though Floyds older we all know how irrational our sport's fans are)
