I say they do around 1 million domestically and another 500,000 or so in the UK to make it worth Floyd's time. I think it's pretty sad that Khan is going to duck Alexander to ensure he doesn't phuck up his opportunity for Floyd next spring. I also think they should do the fight in the UK at Wembley to give it a hook and to make the whole thing more of an event rather than just another fight at the MGM. Kind of like when Pac fought Clottey at Cowboys Stadium. The fact that it was at the new Stadium was the real hook for that fight. Floyd going to England would be the hook here...and if indeed this were to happen, they'd probably have Canelo fight at his own venue on the undercard to bring in the Mexican audience, and if Canelo opted not to do that, they'd be smart to let Canelo fight Cotto on Cinco De Mayo and just make a date in April for the Mayweather vs. Khan fight.
Thoughts?

Probably 1.2 million ppv, if khan can beat alexander in style. If khan goes straight into a floyd fight without fighting alexander then it will do less than that
Pacquiao becomes a free agent after the Rios bout. Why not wait till then to see if that can be made as long as pac looks impressive in besting Rios? His contract with TR expires on Jan 1st
Floyd coming off a knockout against Khan and Pacquiao coming off a knockout against Rios will increase the interest for a September fight. Build it up as the invincible force against the returning last hope.
Let the fight marinate throughout 2014.

no bro, it DOES matter who he fights.
can't people deduce trends??
It doesn't matter. Isn't he the PPV queen? Fact that he ducked the biggest money fight of this century means he can fight anyone he wants and still sell more than 1 million PPV.
:boxing:
doesnt UK get free PPV?
you pay 10£ per month for a box nation subscription
nothing is for free
the fights on sky pay per view (which is a different channel) such as the haye vs fury one, froch fights and possibly floyd vs khan, we'll have to pay around 18£ for it
works out around $40
won't it be on boxnation in the UK anyway? Like all floyds last few fights (and kahn's one too) Unless kahn gets greedy and tries to get on sky sports PPV I suppose. Kahn isn't exactly popular here anyway
Added to the fact Khan is WAY more popular in the US, it's a bit of a no brainer.
I really don't think he is all that popular, he is an unknown to the casuals like the ghost was except this time they wont sucker any latinos into buying it. I don't think the UK PPV market will make up for Floyd's crazy guarantee.
No. Whether its casual fan racism or not, I have no idea and don't want to get into it. But it really does feel like Khan is a US fighter - he spends most of his time over there and fights over there more often than not.
Do you have any proof otherwise? I may be mistaken and willing to see it differently if you do
from a small sample size. not to discount anyone's stance as to where khan sells better, there or here, i just know that EVERY muslim friend i have knew who khan was, and these are those muslim types that know faaak-all about sports. so with that angle, coupled with the UK thing, i thought that wembley would sell out with a muslim, local talent like khan and add to the fact the best fighter in the world would be there.
lol, i have a buddy who basically now hates all puerto ricans becasue of the danny garcia thing.
boxing really accentuates the best traits in people lol
GTFO, seriously?? khan doesn't get that ricky hatton / calzaghe love over there?

500k UK PPV buys? No way. Unless of course, the PPV price is so low. Khan really isn't that popular here.
Am I the only one who feels The One would harm the next PPV Floyd fight? It was hyped to high heaven, but the fight itself was rather lacklustre in comparison, albeit a masterclass from Floyd. It's not just defensive-fighting fanatics who buy PPV.
This fight would need to be in the US for it to even be anywhere near successful as they need it to be. The novelty of Floyd fighting over here is cool and all, but the UK isn't going to be paying US-prices for PPV. Added to the fact Khan is WAY more popular in the US, it's a bit of a no brainer.
I am intrigued by the matchup though. I can't see Floyd KO'ing Khan. Khan has really only been knocked out by HUGE shots, and both times he got up stopped on his feet. Mayweather doesn't have that type of power. Maybe he'll knock Khan down once or twice, but not a KO.
