...wouldn't you prefer get a Mayweather fight over Khan? This is quite a few potential fights here.
Broner/Maidana winner
Thurman/Soto-Karass winner
Alexander/Porter winner
This is just at welterweight too, I'm leaving Lara/Trout out of it since we know neither of them would get it. Honestly, the only potential winner there I wouldn't prefer over Khan would be Maidana. Take away Broner because of the stalking, thinks he's a brother to Mayweather crap and you're still left with 4 potential fights that would be better than Khan IMO.
I can't imagine why Mayweather wouldn't wait a little more than a week for the dust to settle so he can pick someone besides Khan. I'm not convinced that's not what he's doing, no matter how many times Khan goes on BET.
It's not that black and white, though. Alexander was dismissed because the other options were Guerrero and Alvarez. Compared to Khan, Alexander is preferable.
I say that as someone who thinks Mayweather/Alexander would be the worst, most boring, one-sided fight in the sport. Alexander just plain deserves that chance, no matter what the potential fight may be, over Amir freaking Khan.
Agree with the top half. There's not too many options out there. Alexander seems to be the best, if Danny Garcia isn't ready to take that fight yet.
It's not a bad fight, will be a decent win on his resume. Nothing more or less. I want to see Floyd unify 147, Alexander is prime and has a title.
Funny how people hated the Alexander fight before and were ready to torch Floyd for it now they wanna see it. Alexander is terrible and that would be one boring fight. At least Khan will make it exciting. Much rather see Khan than Alexander.
Agreed about Alexander but he was dismissed so hard by the public last year, GBP has no incentive to make that fight. People can't dismiss an opponent and then go running back hoping for him later on.
That's why we're getting Khan. He at least has a fanbase that will make up for the fans that say they will "boycott".

Devon Alexander.
Adrien Broner, I don't know. I'd rather see Broner keep winning and get some more fighters like Maidana on his resume, so it becomes a real big fight. Same with Thurman.
Devon Alexander is already a solid fighter, mopped the floor with Maidana, and has a title.

Hey you and I both. I hope they're throwing Khan's name out there, so that Devon Alexander doesn't seem too bad. And I don't think Devon is a bad fight, he's a solid fighter, prime, shut Maidana out, has a title. But I just think that fight has the potential to be boring as hell.
Maybe Garcia will return in March to fight a Khan rematch, and Floyd will be fighting Devon Alexander in May as long as he wins. And Broner-Maidana winner will be fighting Guerrero next Spring, and Thurman will fight the Malingaggi-Judah winner (remember the Thurman-Paulie argument???)
Nah, Khan's next.
Pretty much 100% now may aswell accept it from now.
And then what if he loses? Out the window then and without an opponent.
The perfect scenario would have been to have him fight Garcia next and have the Khan-Alexander winner for September.
I have no idea why it wasn't pursued this way.
because Garcia doesnt want it yet and I dont blame him at all. He's still trying to build his name and he would get absolutely worked over by Floyd.

I think Broner and Thurman will be saved for possible 2015 opponents for Floyd.
I still 100% believe Floyd is fighting Danny Garcia in September then, as long as Danny wins his 147 debut.

There isn't any basis for that, the guy went life and death with a journeyman. Either way he and Khan enjoy the same status as opponents in regards to a potential Floyd fight - meaningless.
Alexander. Champion and good fighter.
Thurman and Broner not ready.
Soto-karass and Maidana are names for those two above but can upset the apple cart but dont wanna see any of them against floyd
Also floyd has a habit of throwing out names and not fighting those guys so it looks like khan but ill wait till its announced.
I like khan too but not for this fight. He needs to win a big fight first
i agree 100%, except i dont like khan. lol
Any of them.
I'd prefer anyone ranked in the Top 5 at 147 and the Champion at 140.
I have no idea why Mayweather-Garcia isn't happening, to be honest.
Doesn't make any sense to me.
garcias team doesnt want it yet, a lot of ppl are knocking them for it but i like it. they know what their fighter is capable of, now and in the future. theres no shame in feeling he isnt ready for floyd, ppl talk about fear and lack of confidence but i think its shows the oposite. most fighters would take the payday and let the chips fall where they may. team garcia believe he can be on top of this game, but they realize he still needs time to grow. they are confident enough to pass up on that payday for now, allow danny to keep improving and have faith he will make that money back and then some down the line.
ohh and its not a duck, you can only duck fighters in your own division. if you happen to be champion of that division theres no reason to rush a move up in weight, especially considering how easily danny makes 140.
He's better than Khan.
There is also a strong possibility that he's not better than Khan, Brook doesn't react well to punches and it's safe to assume Khan would have put hands on him in the early rounds if the two ever faced. Both suck though.....
He's better than Khan.
Based on what? He's beaten no one in his career he's beaten one person who was ranked in the Top 10 and that was Jackiewicz.
Brooks as bad as the Khan fight.
There is 1 British fighter capable of actually putting up a decent effort vs Floyd. His name is Brook not Khan. Too bad.............
Brook hasn't fought anyone and he sucks.

No, just no. Brook acts real funny when he gets hit with a solid shot, I'm now certain Alexander would have stopped him.
