After dominating a world class fighter like Donaire, they've still decided not to rank Rigondeaux, who they concede is the best 122lber in the world. As if that wasn't obscene enough, and it really is quite obscene when you think about it, Donaire stays in the rankings; this is where it gets good, though, Donaire moves down to 10 allowing everyone else to move up one place. Adrien Broner is now the number 5 pound-for-pound fighter in the world having overcome the awesome might of Antonio Demarco and Gavin fucking Rees.
As I said, finished as even a semi-credible source.
There are no creditable sources for ranking. Look at B@xrec. Look at the WBC/WBA/WBO. It's not rocket science, but if it was they would all blow themselves up!
Mayweather doesn't jump on his bicycle and run so much any more. His legs are no longer young so he backs up to the ropes and fights of them most of the fight. But I don't think he is much of a warrior, he fights the same he choses opponents, very carefully.
The way he speaks? Sounds like normal speaking spanish to me.. He's wearing a suit, (or at least a jacket) not a hat for bandana. Not rocking any tattoos.. Not wearing any gold teeth. Not loud. I don't see where the thug comment applies..
As a matter of fact:
thug

noun
1.
a violent person, esp. a criminal.
synonyms: ruffian, hooligan, vandal, hoodlum, gangster, villain, criminal; More
2.
historical
a member of a religious organization of robbers and assassins in India. Devotees of the goddess Kali, the Thugs waylaid and strangled their victims, usually travelers, in a ritually prescribed manner. They were suppressed by the British in the 1830s.
Sadly "thug" is also used often as a racist statement normally referring to African Americans and other minorities living in the city.
Canelo does the same exact thing, against a guy in his own weight class, and the world is going to end. Can anyone explain why there is a double standard here?
Canelo did it by 1/2 pound. Mayweather was making a featherweight that rose to lightweight fight as a welterweight. Mayweather's was done for he would have every advantage like most of his fights.
A bit early for a Hearns comparison. We can't make a Hearns comparison off an opponent like Soto Karass either. Wait til he fights guys like Duran, Benitez and Cuevas.
Broner looked smooth against mediocre opposition but sooner or later he had to step up. It should have come as no surprise that he was no Mayweather or he would have stepped up a long time ago.
Golden Boy has a lot of prospects and young champions. Many will have to be matched very carefully. But the success is in big money fights, and that is hard to do if you match fighters carefully. The good news is that Showtime is more interested in names than competitive matchups.
I ordered it knowing it was a mismatch. But watching Floyd pound another featherweight for 12 rounds was painful. I will not spend another cent on Mayweather unless he fights somebody that is not a major underdog again.
