Im not talking about in terms of their fighters are beating the others. im jus tsaying that for the last x amount of years a lot of fight we want to see never happened bc of that feud. But now that it seems GBP is signing most og the new talent, they aren't afraid to match up some of their best fighters against eachother like Bob Arum wouldn't have done and that's what boxing needs, just have the best fight the best and give us what we want. GBP has been doing that thus far this year. As soon as Matthysse KO'd Peterson, Schaefer was asked about Lucas vs Danny Garcia and he said absolutely they will try to make it. That is exactly what I like to see. I hope when Arum retires, who ever takes over Top Rank wont have all these politics prevent mega fights .
I think promotions need to work with each other soon..I also believe the landscape of these promotion company's will change soon as well..You might see some fighters who are with GBP now go and sign to TR and vice versa..All in all it's been a pretty good yr for both imo..
Now that Golden Boy has so many good fighters it's only going to hurt Top Rank if they don't start doing fights with them. Arum had a good month. I don't expect TR to have many more good cards this year.
Bradley Marquez and Pac Rios is still this yr,and both have the potential to be great fights bro..
This year has been excellent so far. Both networks have had some great fights but it is quite clear that Top Rank and Golden Boy need to work together. We have been reduced to choosing sides in this "cold war" and the fans are the ones losing out. It's a sad day when boxing starts to follow the mold of wrestling.
Real talk right here. Real fans don't choose sides among networks, promoters, etc. I, for example, watch MMA reruns on Fox, Sp1ke TV, Sports channel, etc. Bellator, UFC, MMA, I don't even know the differences. I don't care. I watch fights. That's all I cared about.
Arguing about promoters and networks seems immature.
Fans will pay to see good fights no matter who puts them on. Both Arum and Schaefer are equally guilty for the fued. They just flat hate each other's guts and never miss a chance to cuss and insult each other. Arum's idea of not putting on fights between his best fighters when the fight was hot was wrong. He would say the fight needs to marinate. Often while the fight was marinating something would happen to kill the fight. Schaefer has the right idea of matching the best into the best and what ever happens happens. But Schaefer does not always do that. Arum is improving and he is matching his big stars into each other more often. The Bradley-Marquez fight and the Pacquiao-Rios fight will both make good money.

Only way you can be taken seriously is to stop thinking about Floyd and base all your judgements relating to Floyd. You hate HBO because Floyd left, is it not? That's really dumb, homey.
I gave an example of GBP/Haymon inspired fights: Canelo and Berto fighting tomatoes for so long at HBO. These are just few among many which HBO tolerated for years whether TR or HBO promoted. HBO obviously have that kind of resources. They lose some, they win some. Showtime can't afford loses.haha! Take that advise there buddy! And I'm not against HBO at all but once again you got Floyd on mind cause that's all you know so that's all you can talk about. Learn the sport kid
Where did you get I hate HBO? Just out if curiosity but I know. You'll come back with a child like answer of " your idol left so you hate them"

GBP needs to do two things to keep the momentum. Finalize Garcia-Matthysee and step up to the plate and make Hopkins-Kovalev. Only Hopkins-Froch would be an acceptable alternative.
Damn you are a dumb debater. You just try to start a Floyd argument at any moment and any reason. Thats sad
Kids stuff? I think you are a kid who should learn the sport before posting on here and if you arent a kid then damn

I seriously think GBP cutting ties with HBO will be a huge hit for them. Top Rank now is exclusive with the biggest cable company in the country. But they have no one to put on there so what is purpose of having all the money in the world if you have nothing to spend it on.
Just a saying so dont take that literally
Oh you mean you hate HBO because your idol left? Man, that's kids stuff.Damn you are a dumb debater. You just try to start a Floyd argument at any moment and any reason. Thats sad

HBO breaking away with Haymon/GBP team has been a blessing in disguise for fans. (I have both networks, so I'm not into SHO vs HBO.) Haymon/GBP is finally forced to come up with good fights. SHO don't have that kind of resources. Canelo, Berto... I don't think Schaefer/Haymon would have made Broner vs Reese on Showtime. Malignaggi vs Broner was a leftover that was caught in the crossfire. Again, I don't think Haymon/Schaefer would have made such fight at Showtime.
why is it that you kill haymon/gbp fights like broner rees but dont kill TR fights like manny rios? they are both blowouts setup for the favored fighter to look good.

Yes GBP has been putting on better fights lately but they are NOT killing Top Rank.
Top Rank got the #1 channel (HBO) all to themselves they could careless about GBP fights.

Competition is good and to be honest GBP holds a lot of the cards due to the numbers of boxers that they have around 140-154, and the added fact that they are willing to do business with any promoter makes then the leading figure at the moment.
