It was pretty obvious Floyd wasn't ducking them. Infact, after Floyd's win over Gatti in 2005 the talk around town was Mayweather vs. Cotto. However typical Bob Arum bullsh*t protecting his top stars from any unnecessary chances. At the same time Cotto never even made the slightest attempt to even make an offer but of course since Cotto is a humble guy, he wasn't ducking. It wasn't until after Floyd left TR when he went to go fight DLH where all this garbage started that he ducked Margarito/Cotto. I wonder how it got started. Considering how Floyd just left TR and Margarito and Cotto are TR fighters...hmmm....let's just say in a few months from now when Nonito leaves TR for good, don't be surprised if people come with the "Fake Filipino Nonito ducked Gamboa/Lopez" Bob Arum is a manipulator at it's finest and there are tons of gullible people in this world.
Manny has always had problems with counter punchers. Always. Floyd would tool him IMO. It won't be an exciting fight. It'll be a one sided domination. Pacquiao would have to chase Floyd and get countered easily.
Speed and Technique kill every time.
There are so many factors with the Mayweather-Ortiz fight, that it's hard to predict what will actually happen. My predictions with the fight were merely on styles, but alot can happen in a year and we don't know exactly what condition Mayweather is in.
Wlad/Haye is a easy fight to predict. Haye isn't Samuel Peter, he won't stand there and get hit. He also won't gas out after the first 3 rounds. Not only that, but Wlad has an extremely questionable chin. I'm expecting Haye to knock him out.
Vitali vs. Haye was the fight I really wanted to see.
Guys in all seriousness OP has a point. Victor has beaten some great names over the past few months. I honestly looked into it and IN MY OPINION I think Victor Ortiz is the true P4P best. Why? Listen not only did he just beat Berto but he beat Vivian F*cking Harris a guy Floyd was CLEARLY DUCKING! Not only that but he beat Nate Campbell in his PRIME! Bro seriously, I think Victor makes a case as being the number 1 P4P fighter in the world.
In fact I've made a video highlight in order to PROVE he's the best.
He also has very underrated defense aswell.
Don't be fooled. De La Hoya is just like every other promoter out there. He's gonna play the nice guy with Ortiz, but after that whole Maidana thing you can tell he has no hopes for him. He has high hopes for Khan, not him. Which is exactly why GBP made this fight. They don't think Ortiz will win, but they know this fight is gonna make them alot of money.
haha.what is that show on your sig.the dancing is funny as hell
Family matters. I remember watching that show as a kid. It was hilarious.

Blood pretty much said everything I felt when this fight was first announced. Floyd said it himself, he's at the point in his career where he is looking for young lions for a challenge.
In boxing, we need these young lions to build up there names. How else can they build up there name without fighting actual named opposition? Instead for the past 2 years we had both of the top draws just grab and be greedy with those big names just for a paycheck. I'm glad Floyd has come to this point in his career. Giving Ortiz a chance at stardom.
As much as I don't like that Sky commentator Jim, I gotta admit SKY rapes Primetime, and this coming from a guy who doesn't have to put up with either, only a few occasions. I feel bad for the Brits.
Wasn't there UFC the night of the JMM fight, I think it would have minimal effect.
Surprised UFC would try to do that but they may figure they can't get away with putting on just any card the week after a big PPV for boxing.
No it was a PPV and this was back when UFC was red hot coming off the heels of their biggest show so it did a pretty good number.
Remember when Ortiz literally quit like a puto at the hands of Chino Maidana?
This is supposed to be the next big test for Floyd Joy? LMAO! Come off it. He might as well stay in retirement and blow 50 cents.
Victor Ortiz the P4P King bro. WTF. He didn't quit, he just wanted a young star in Maidana to build off his name. Now look where Maidana is!? Ortiz is a man of the people.
ortiz fought good on the inside against berto
He fought good on the inside against a man who didn't move. Berto=/=Mayweather. Mayweather isn't gonna just stand there and take punches.
That's why Golden Boy/HBO has their work cut out if they hope to surpass 1 mil buys for Mayweather-Ortiz... if sports journalists don't know who Ortiz is, what makes you think casual fans do?
Don't underestimate the casual fans bro. Alot of people I know who are casual fans are talking about this fight. The fact that Ortiz just came off a FoTY candidate is perfect for them, because the million or so casual fans who saw the fight on the FREE HBO weekend, will most likely tell there friends, and the friends will spread it around etcetc. It spreads like wild fire.
He is ready. People are pointing at the Maidana fight, but really that was the defining moment of Ortiz's career. He quit. Then he got back up and recovered his career and showed his true potential. Maidana wasn't a top 10 P4P fighter. The fact that Ortiz finally realized that he wasn't immortal, helped him for the better. It motivated him to try and prove people wrong.
thats what all pretenders usuaully say to their defense......ask dumbass questions, it makes you look smart about he topic.......yeah right!l.....you aint folin anyone homeboy!......lol
Once again, ignoring my simple question. What do I "pretend" about? Is it my boxing knowledge you're referring too?
you dont know what the fukk thye know homeboy...for all i care, you could be one of them guys like maniac , yesir, boxing folower, and ktlp who do nothing but pretend....let's get real here!
"Pretend"... What do I "pretend" about?
Castillo is a WAY better inside fighter than Ortiz. Castillo knew what he was doing in there and he still had trouble with Floyd. He set up traps perfectly and everything and he was still missing tons of shots.
It's not as easy as you think it is.
Something needs to be done. Boxing is too corrupt. Fixed fights like these are killing the sport
Will your Sex Icon's fight be fixed aswell? We can't take any risks here.
Good fighter with a good left jab and tons of power. I've only seen him once but with what I saw he's pretty good. Will he be fighting on Showtime again or will it be some sort of international stream?
Gameplan for Ortiz you say? If I was Ortiz's trainer I'd tell him to give every ounce of blood, sweat, energy you have in those first 3 rounds. Why? Once Floyd adjusts to Ortiz's style, it's over. He'll embarrass him in there. Once Ortiz gets to the later rounds he fades, he needs to attack early and avoid those straight right hands if he wants even the slightest chance to get Floyd out of there.
