I understand why folyd is favored but i can picture a scenario where even the shots that floyd blocks hurt. Ortiz has a deadly one-two. And when floyd ties up, ortiz will be strong enough to wrestle him self out enough to get some shots on the inside, like he did all night with berto. We'll see ortiz is going to make it a fun fight to watch. I swore never to buy a floyd fight after being suker'd into the boldomir fight, but I'm going to break my rule on this one. Ortiz has tasted the bottom (wrt his boxing career) he'll be too strong to determined like he was against berto. You'll know what the damn deal is when he shows-up to the weigh-in with his signature facial hair! :) Ortiz does not have the skill to win on the outside or the inside. He has a punchers chance. Mayweather is not God, but Ortiz is clearly at a disadvantage in this fight. And I love reading these unicorn myths on how Victor will be the stronger fighter. Weighing more and being younger does not mean you are stronger. Mayweather will be the stronger fighter mentally and physically. Floyd is 34 not 46.

Well i can sum this up speed kills :boxing: and floyd jr has the best defense in all of boxing. ortiz will have to cut the ring off and also be able to counter floyd in exchanges which will be hard to do because of floyd's hand speed. I see it being a long night for ortiz. 12rd unanimous decision for mayweather.

Too early for Ortiz, But it would be nice to see him try though, The fact that he is young and seem motivated is a good thing but Mayweather would be too much for him.

Of course Victor Ortiz is gonna win this fight. Floyd's style is made to order for Ortiz. Only delusional Gayweather fans would think otherwise.

If Ortiz doesn't manage to pull it off, atleast give a good account of himself, show the same heart and determination he showed against Berto. That's enough to warrant my respect.

Here's why I think Ortiz will win First Mayweather has been fooling the boxing fan ever since Castillo gave him a beat down. He has carefully chosen his opponents since then. His last 4 opponents have been jokes. Marquez at 37 years of age has no bussiness fighting at welterwieght as it will show when he's knock out by Pacquiao. Hatton at 5 foot 4 inches in height was a hype job who was given a boxing lesson by Luis Collazo only to be robbed cause the Hatton vs Mayweather fight had to be made. Hatton gave Mayweather problems for 7 rounds, Ortiz would knock Hatton out in 2 rounds or less. Delahoya was wash up and had no stamina to fight pass 8 rounds and almost beating him hell lightwieght Edwin Valero gave Delahoya are far worst beating than Mayweather did when they spared. Everyone knows that Mosley was washed up and couldn't fight past 4 rounds with out his EPO steroids that his body grew acustomed to having since 2000. Pacquaio has out shined Floyd everytime they have faced the same opponent since Pacquiao has moved up in wieght.. Floyd will be exposed if the same Ortiz show's up that fought Berto.

I've been one of his bigger fans and also one of his bigger critics. Im also a huge mayweather fan as well. With that said, I think it might be a tall order to expect him to win this one. But I almost want him to to see how many ppl hop back on his nuts. At the very least, ill be greatly pleased if he makes it competitive.

The only threat he poses will be based on him outweighing Floyd by 10 lbs. on fight night, and even that won't save him. Ortiz cements his status as a B level fighter on 9/17.

You guys act like it's gonna be an easy fight I think Ortiz has a 40% chance of winning...he has to be a man on a mission...Mayweather can get hurt, but it's hard to get him hurt cuz of his skill...Ortiz has the physical tools and a really good trainer to corner him with instructions...let's see what game plan Ortiz has for this...I don't think he will get stopped...Mayweather hasn't faught a younger guy in years and Ortiz is on a roll...he's hungry and knows that millions of dollars along with fame, and his legacy in the history books will be on the table...he's gonna bring it with more determination than if Millionaire Pacquiao would if he faught Mayweather!

i think he has little to zero chance to pull it off. still rooting for him though
