This is the lowest point I have ever seen boxing interest in America. Only hard-core fans care and even that base is getting disinterested. When boxing started losing the casual fans years ago it died a slow death. It's not coming back.
Hello all. First post here.Thomas Hearns was my all time favorite boxer. I was in the crowd at the Detroit Cobo Hall when he won the WBC light heavyweight title from Dennis Andries in 1987.It was a happy time for all those in attendance.I will never forget it. I also went to closed circuit locations for his fights with Hagler and Leonard II.Win or lose Tommy always went out on his shield. He was a true warrior who gave alot to the game.
Sad about his financial problems but ultimately that is his fault and sad to see he has resorted to GOFUNDME.Tommy was a boxer only and that seemingly is all he knows how to do to make a living. He isn't a magnetic personality like Ray Leonard to endorse products and cannot speak well enough to be a commentator. It seems like he is almost a forgotten man nowadays which is hard to believe. It's sad considering how great a fighter he really was and how much he gave to the sport.
In my eyes, Tommy will always be that tall fast and powerful fighter who gave it his all to bring excitement to this once great sport.Tommy made boxing better and we should all thank him for that.
Holmes very easily. The contrast in skills isn't even remotely close. I suppose Wilder could get lucky and land a big one like Shavers and Snipes did. However,Larry recovered from those and went on to dominate both fights.
On your tele or computer?[/QUOTE
Youtube TV works flawlessly on both my television and computer. I live in Columbus Ohio which is a pretty big metro area so my internet speeds are just fine. ESPN Plus live events in my case look like crap. No "live" look, not smooth and kind of herky jerky.
All streaming services suck. I have a high end tele and a high end connection and I can't watch Amazon Prime video at all. Blurry, not blurry, blurry, not blurry.
In general I agree and have tried them all but Youtube TV stands out as by far the best. I have not had any buffering issues and the live events stream flawlessly.
I subbed then cancelled the next day. App isn't really that good and live feed was spotty at times and my wifi connection is 45-50 mbps so it wasn't on my end. Others I spoke to had issues too.
Same here. Although to my surprise, the Crawford/Horn fight streamed flawlessly but the under card stream quality was very spotty. I hear alot of the live events streaming quality issues are caused by the channels not streaming at 60 frames per second like they should be. Alot of streaming channels are only at 30 frames per second. I believe this is slowly being addressed by the streaming services because quite frankly it's still not as reliable as cable TV in most cases.
Look at the thread titles, wilders team don’t respond to team Joshua for the fight which is plain obvious at wilder avoiding Joshua
Hearn states all he can do now is try to get them to sit down next week in USA as they are ignoring all offers
Thread titles only post about Hearn sitting with team wilder and nothing on wilder ducking the offer not even responding
Then you see Joshua titles, mis leading and trying to sway the public in stating lies about aj and manipulating what he says with negative thread titles
We know the ibo sponsor the website so they post positive articles on the ibo
I would bet Haymon somehow funnels money in to ensure positive threads are made to mis lead people with fake news like they are doing with wilder
Pathetic from American fans, when did you sink so so low ? Discrediting the proper champs who take the big fights and try to manipulate people into thinking wilder has some amazing resume and didn’t duck the best in recent years and today years
It’s a joke, American boxing has become the Russia of politics
Edit
This all started when the champ of America Charles Martin was humiliated by Joshua, could the hate thrive from that and they are afraid of wilder being knocked out in a round or two ?
So how exactly do these negotiations affect you in your every day life? Does this cause you to lose your appetite and lose sleep? Does this cause you to take meds ? Is it affecting your relationship with your spouse or children ?
Seriously though, the drama here over the negotiations for this fight is way over the top on both sides. These stupid Wilder/Joshua threads need to diminish. I will read them no more.
I find it disturbing that you and others get so caught up in this. Life is good. Lighten up. The fight will happen eventually.
man these guys are over the top. I played around with the negotiation arguments for a while until I noticed how serious these guys were, they act like they are ready to actually harm someone and post endless threads and stadium numbers ppv sales, attendance from fights, I was like GEE WIZZ are these guys on the payroll of these fighters or something? I think the solution is getting more pssy
Absolutely. I mean if they want to create threads and debate about who they think is going to win the actual fight then that's just fine. However to come on here and create thread over thread about negotiations and who is to blame for the fight not happening as quickly as we would like is mundane and nobody really cares.
I read an article years ago that Eddie Futch taught Ken to out jab Ali. He told Ken if he saw a jab coming or thought it was, to immediately fire one back.
This looks like Wilder very first fight of his entire life. Tyson Fury’s legacy is being chipped away at every day.
It's like he has learned nothing in 20 years as a boxer.
Thanks. I took the time to look at the videos of the USA fighters on the list and other than Anderson and Torrez, the rest of the Americans look woeful.
Yes he should retire. He made alot of money and created a good deal of excitement. Actually more than any other one dimensional fighter in history. That one dimension was special but he learned nothing else in the 20 years he boxed which I think is baffling. Based on his last 2 fights, I wouldn't watch him fight again.
Does Usyk have more power that being credited for ? Yes. Does Fury have somewhat of a glass jaw ? Yes. Does Fury have very good recovery and survival skills after being knocked down ? Yes.
I like Fury. Amazing skillset and agility for someone that big. However as he ages and loses reflexes,he won't get away wining against a truly talented fighter with that big belly body. Of course is there any heavyweight out there who will make him pay before that happens ? Fury needs to fight a couple more fights and get out before his body breaks down.
