First few rounds were feeling out rounds. Next few were Fury's. And then he got cocky. He'd felt a bit of Usyk's punch power in the first half of the fight and I think he thought he could take it.
Boy was he wrong. The way Usyk picked those shots in the 9th was beautiful. Being able to get up off single shots from WIlder and Ngannou gave Fury over confidence. That said the fact he didn't go to sleep was admirable. AJ would have been done if he had taken that punishment. It was way worse than what AJ took from Ruiz.
Usyk paced himself better. He looked gassed at about the halfway mark but then got his second wind in the last quarter of the fight. Fury gassed later so only got his second wind in round 11-12.
If we were still in the days of 15 rounders we could have had a hell of a finish.
IMO Fury was hurt worse than Wilder in their second fight.
It was a clear TKO situation IMo. Fury was out of depth , his legs were gone, he was not there anymore.
Fury has been down now, what 7 times? Yep. An argument could be made that he was stopped and the ref allowed him to take unnecessary punishment At ant rate Usky is not a puncher. He can however fight very well.
Fury has been down 8 times. Against Neven Pajkic, Steve Cunningham, Deontay Wilder 4 times, Francis Ngannou, and now Oleksandr Usyk.
Nah, his arms were down because he was exhausted IMO Usyk had been touching him to the body since the opening bell, and in his own words "would not leave him alone" at one point I remember Fury grabbing him to lean, and Usyk turned it into a headlock which is the worst thing for someone whos trying to gain his stamina back. Then he got his nose busted in the 8th which makes breathing a MF.
Yeah that was a funny one. We all figured Fury would try that leaning stuff, and he did try, but mostly it didnt work well. I would have expected Usyk to slide out of it but not to reverse it. It was boss move against a taller bigger guy.
Usyk changes tempo so well as well as power in his shots. Opponents simply are not advanced enough to keep up with that. People are saying “Fury should kept hitting the body”, “Fury should have kept out of reach”, etc.. are not seeing the obvious. Yes you can do that for some rounds with Usyk, but not over 12 rounds when he goes through the gears, ups the tempo, as well as punching power.

He underestimated EVERYTHING about Usyk. His arrogance made that fight more tuff than it was.
There was one of the bouts where it looked like Joshua could've been stopped, he was badly gassed, not as dramatic as Fury's Round 9 mind. fury wasn’t gassed he was unconscious on his feet lol
Does Usyk have more power that being credited for ? Yes. Does Fury have somewhat of a glass jaw ? Yes. Does Fury have very good recovery and survival skills after being knocked down ? Yes.
Fury didn’t underestimate ****, constantly smiling and sticking your tongue out and things like that have historically been signs that punches hurt more than someone is letting on.
It’s somehow showboating when Fury does it though.
People saying Fury won the first 2 rounds because "even though he was showboating, Usyk didn't do anything"
MF! Fury was showboating after every SHOT Usyk landed lmfao

12th round of the first fight. McCracken was even waiving the towel at the ref.

But he lifted his guard in subsequent rounds, and looked much better for it. I just think Fury's not fully mentally focused, he gets carried away with himself, and sloppy at times.

brilliant lolâ¦â¦..after 24 rounds with usyk never was Joshua in that kind of trouble and doing the chicken fandango all over the ringâ¦..fury should have been stopped

not at all……the 8th round when usyk landed that left on fury’s nose should have served him notice…..he dropped his guard because his stamina was leaving him……look at the 8th round to get some idea of what usyk was doing

Yeah, AJ, Wlad, Wilder, anyone else would have been done. Because they call KOs when anyone but Tyson Fury is on the receiving end of a life-threatening ass whooping. brilliant lol……..after 24 rounds with usyk never was Joshua in that kind of trouble and doing the chicken fandango all over the ring…..fury should have been stopped
He dropped his guard when he thought the fight had gone out of Usyk, he was styling on him...but he was badly mistaken. not at all……the 8th round when usyk landed that left on fury’s nose should have served him notice…..he dropped his guard because his stamina was leaving him……look at the 8th round to get some idea of what usyk was doing
