are people really using clinching as an excuse? he didnt do it as muc has he did in the maidana fight.
Its hilarious that this topic only came up because of the disdain for a faded 38 year old boxer who didn't even clinch that much. I hated how he fought Maidana in the rematch because he substituted clinching for punching at times, and he's more capable than that.
For the Pac fight, he didn't clinch nearly as much, but I think he could've done alot more offensively. When he clinched in the first round and worked Pac's body with the right hand, I thought that's what he should be doing, since Manny has no inside game to speak of. For every round after, he did it to blunt Pac rushing in, but didn't let his hands go while doing it.
Floyd is one of my favorite fighters, but I think he could've worn Pac out on the inside and stopped him in the later rounds, WITHOUT putting himself at much risk. Instead, he used his jab and straight right to neutralize Manny, throwing a hook or uppercut every now and again. Dunno why anyone is surprised the fight turned out the way it did, to be honest.
Pac should had performed better, they knew going in how Floyd fights.
Moving is categorize as running now. How about when he was standing in front of him or went to the ropes, he did that more than what he moved around
Yesterday I was watching the first Ali-Liston fight and wondering what casual fans/Floyd haters would classify a 22 year old Ali's movement as, compared to a 38 year old Mayweather's? Nevermind the fact that the times Liston managed to get inside, Ali did what he was supposed to do........... clinch.
she mad :lol1:...but she can still get it!! :hitit:
Floyd served his time, ergo he doesn't have to apologize for sh1t. That being said, his haters will take every opportunity to bring up his "domestic" issues, as if he's the first boxer to put his hands on a woman. (How's that hoe's 20 million dollar defamation lawsuit doing again?) To listen to the faction of the media who hate him (mostly women), you'd think Floyd was pimp-smacking chicks left and right throughout training camp. (/rant)
Anyway, Miss Rousey could indeed get the business. Bet money she loves being dominated. IIRC, she had straight up love in her eyes watching GGG ringside. I wonder if she'd feel the same if he was accused of clocking women in his leisure time. Hmm.

Great list.
Corrales-Castillo is possibly my favourite fight of all time. Just terrific.
I also truly loved Jirov-Toney, but it rarely gets mentioned.
Had a chance to go, but ended up studying for a test instead. Still my favorite fight of all time, to this day. :banghead:
I love when WHITE people go "Why do you always bring up race get over it!?" Uhhh when you get stop and frisked in a pair of shorts and a tank top come speak to me. You don't know how I live or what I've been through so what gives you the temerity to tell me how to feel or how to react to blatant ignorance.
Fixed it for ya. If something doesn't directly affect white people, it doesn't matter. I've had racial discussions with guys who said nonsense along the lines of, "Racism doesn't exist, cuz Obama got elected." Meanwhile, white cops are allowed to kill black people with impunity, sometimes even getting away with it when the event is recorded for all to see.
Magic...can you please explain to us how you got AIDS again? It didn't have anything to do with a male bootyhole right? Riiggghhhht.
To paraphrase Corey Holcomb on Magic Johnson, "He was posting motherfukas up and LIKING it. When he got sick everybody was sad, but the question nobody ever asked him was, "Did them HOES give it to ya......... Magic?"

Looks like a fatter, queer, bizarro version of Kenan, with titties.

But he never dropped him in 24 rounds? Lol chino hits harder pacs speed is what does it
The op asked a simple question, but its funny the lengths that guys here will go to, in order to *wrongly* answer Pac (despite him not knocking out ANY legitimate welterweight). Kendall Holt dropped Bradley twice (iirc), at his best weight, with single shots. If Pac is such a great puncher, why couldn't he dent Bradley?
Delusional is as delusional does....he'll call someone else desperate in a few minutes.
Kell Brook will do to Amir Khan what Breidis Prescott/Danny Garcia did to Amir Khan.
It's funny how Khan fans run with whatever nonsense comes out of his mouth at the time. To hear him speak, you'd think he just beat two elite welters (as opposed to two relatively soft-punching southpaws), and avenged at least one of his humiliating KO losses before demanding a payday.
Delusional is the perfect description for Con. He is fundamentally the same fighter who went life/death & got dropped by a shot, career lightweight, and was made to look like a Fight Night character getting KDd by Garcia before that. Let him fight a welter who can actually punch, ie Brook, Thurman or Maidana (if he's up to chase him around the ring again), before rewarding his sh1t talking.
Do you judge a person on everything they do or just the negative things that allows you to paint them a certain way?
You know its this. The haters have to latch onto any negative facet (real or imagined) of a person in order to claim some sort of moral superiority to the dude they're hating on. A perfect example would be the whiny "guys" on here who complain about what Mayweather does with the money he EARNED from a lifetime of boxing. That being said, what guy concerns himself about another man's wealth, anyway? Or is it just a chance for an anonymous prick to be sanctimonious over the internet? lol
Merchant is a emotional bigot, more news at 11.
Stop talking nonsense. He loves black fighters................. who fight with an exciting style, because that's all he respects. But if you want to hear what he thinks of a black boxer who actually hits without being hit, listen to him talk about Floyd or Chris Byrd. Byrd is a humble, religious guy who routinely fought dudes who outweighed him by 20 or more lbs. He was as nice a boxer you could ever meet, and was the polar opposite of Floyd's persona. So why did old drunken Larry have such venom when it came to him?
And he resented Roy as well. Listen to how excited he was after the Tarver rematch when he proclaimed, "IT'S OVER!!", "He said what excuses do you have tonight ROY? No excuses!", and "Roy is out. And Roy may be out of boxing!" You could tell he had all that emotion pent up after years of Roy being the best and finally losing.
He is pretty audacious for calling Manny out cold like that... But did u guys forget 2009-2010? The strange excuses Manny had for refusing random testing? At one point he said "I am afraid of needles", and the next day a photo surfaces of him sitting with a tattoo artist putting a needle all over his arm. We'll never truly know, but its kinda funny how quickly people seem to forget.
Manny fans have selective memory. There's a list out there of all the excuses Arum and Co. made to not fight Mayweather. Remember them, "needing time to build a stadium" or Manny's cut (that occurred in NOVEMBER) "needing more time to heal", so they couldn't fight Floyd on May 5th, (Pac fought Bradley the next month, doe)? :gay:
He's not running for president he's a fighter.
Why do people have to be so sensitive over what he says?
Because there's no such thing as racial or religious equality. There's just people who form their little clans and look for anyone speaking bad about their group, then comes the fake "outrage". If they had their way, people wouldn't be able to crack jokes about them. Ultimately the purpose of these groups is to fool people into believing that they're above reproach. But really, when have the (anti) anti-jew group (mentioned in the article) spoken out about the atrocities that happen to people of other cultures or religions, that we should give a damn what they think, or if they get offended?
So basically they think they have the power to get a fighter "fired" from his job, just for speaking his mind. That's some arrogant horsesh1t right there.
How many boxers are as egotistical as khan after being kod 3 times?
Khan can dictate against Brook because he has consistently shown blazing speed, combinations. and the ability to get knocked out in video game-like fashion, no matter WHAT weight he's at. But seriously though, Brook's right hand would introduce Khan to the canvas yet again and 'Mir knows this. The only intriguing part of this match-up is to see if Brook can knock him out in an even more entertaining way than previously seen.
Rios and Algieri are better than Bumto who got knocked out against Soto Karass :lol1:
Sure. It's not like Berto DIDN'T hurt his shoulder in one of the first few rounds or anything. He did well to last as long as he did. :bryce:
Dan can say whatever he wants. They're both prominent figures in boxing, but Rafael puts his life on the line way more than Broner does. Adrien only fights 2-3 times a year, if that. On the other hand, Dan is on first name terms with damn near every buffet establishment in the U.S. What a warrior. All in the name of boxing.
I don't care either way about either, but Jack won that fight. You don't get points for throwing combinations that hit nothing but air, gloves, forearms, and elbows. That only worked for the fishnet-wearing Mexican. BTW, shouldn't DeGale have had a point deducted for his mouthpiece coming out for the third time? Hmm.
Calling everyone idiots is a great way to start a conversation lol. GGG looked basic, slow and confused. The multiple looks Jacobs kept giving him stiffled good offense plus Jacobs did a masterful job of smothering and landing combinations to the body while pushing GGG back.
The first real opponent he fought, he failed.
Apparently all a Boxingscene hypejob needs to do to win a fight is land a few solid jabs, an occasional right hand or uppercut, and score a flash knockdown to be seen as the winner. Nevermind that Jacobs CLEARLY outlanded GGG to both the head and body, while more often than not making Golovkin miss wildly with most of his punches. But hey, HBO still has one of their only money-making fights in GGG-Canelo, which is all that matters.
Exactly...they would literally have to pay fighters to lose to her,she has 0 stand up
Imo the funniest part of that gif is the way her head is c0cked to one side whilst throwing punches.
Yea, I still can't get over it because half the people here mocked the 200k target as being a ridiculously low bar. As a fan of boxing I hate numbers like these but something tells me that it's not really a sign of anything other than the fans being too educated to pay for an inconsequential squash match like this from an unproven fighter. Canelo Cotto will be the real gauge of boxing's post-May/Pac health. I anticipate that will bring good numbers. And, if it doesn't, then we've got something to worry about.
Agree with everything, especially the bold. I feel bad for GGG fanboys who thought he was this superstar because he has an exciting style. Hell, a decent amount of Golovkin's fans are just disgruntled Pacquiao worshipers who jumped on his bandwagon after their hero got schooled against Floyd. So GGG became the next guy that they claimed Mayweather was "ducking". Too bad that wishful thinking didn't translate to PPV buys, though.
No my friend. Floyd is hated for the same reasons Ali was hated. Floyd is far from the only athlete or celebrity to ever be accused of domestic violence. There are a number of guys in the UFC who are under investigation for the same thing. But Floyd is the guy garnering most of the hate.
Ali talked down to people far more than Floyd ever did. Ali called whites Devils, compared Joe Frazier to a Gorilla, and even said nice things about the Ku Klux Klan but you idiots call him "great" and Floyd a "dirtbag" lol.
Just like that woman in the video you guys are saying you don't like him for "something else" when we all know why most people really don't like Floyd.
Don't you know, if Ali did it, it doesn't count, simply cuz it's Ali? What Ali did to Joe Frazier is worse than anything Floyd has done in his boxing career. To your point, imo of course race plays a part in why some people hate Mayweather. White people (and even misguided black people) hate to see an arrogant/flashy black man as the best in his sport, unapologetically speaking his mind and not giving a damn what anyone thinks.
Floyd was a nice guy for the first few years of his career, and he couldn't sell out an arena in his home town. By adopting a polarizing persona, he became the biggest star (and PPV draw) in boxing. His growing number of haters are partially due to fans of fighters he's beaten (Gatti, DLH, Hatton, Cotto, Canelo, and Pacman) as well. But anyone claiming that race isn't at least a part of the reason he's hated, is in denial.
I agree. He weighed around 170+ lbs on fight night last night.
Stop talking ****, bro. Floyd was at least a cruiser. He was HUGE compared to Maidana. Dunno how Chino lasted the distance with that behemoth.
Maidana has become a whole different monster since switching trainers to Robert Garcia.
Khan looked pretty good last night but I wouldn't pick him to beat Chino right now. Would you?
For all of Khan's supposed work with his new trainer, he sure as hell didn't learn how to fight on the inside. Unless putting someone in a headlock is now an accepted form of infighting, I mean. Meanwhile, under Garcia, Maidana has improved everything that made him special in the first place. Even though he lost, his will/determination was never broken. Chino would wreck Khan if they re-matched.
Pac should've won the first fight but the judge didn't know how to score the opening round. Had JMM close but clear in the rematch. Third was JMM at least 8-4.
