Before being labelled a Pact*rd (apparently the censor that) in the first 2 fights I was a fan of both and watched it more neutrally. Fights 3 and 4 I wanted Marquez to win bc I wanted his fans to shut up.
Fight 1- I thought that Marquez clearly kicked ass in this one and won the most rounds but the KD's were a big obsticle to overcome. Ultimately I thought the 3 KD's were just too much to overcome and thought with them Pac had won enough rounds to get the decision. Still had it close though, not terribly upset with the draw.
Fight 2- I thought this was fought on the most even terms of all 4. It really could go either way by 1 or 2 points, not really any more than that. This was as close as it gets. I think the decision was fair in this. I remember scoring it 6-6 and Pac getting the win with the 1 point for the KD.
Fight 3- I think this one get it's "robbery" reputation bc it wasn't supposed to be close. Going in, Manny looked like an unstoppable machine and Marquez never fought at the weight. I'll admit I wanted Manny to lose this one more than any other one (the hype for him was ridiculous at this point), and still I saw this one as the most clear victory for him. I had it dead even until around the 8th round or so when Marquez just seemed to take his foot off the gas and as much as I wanted him to step it up in the championship rounds I just don't see how he deserved a decision that night.
Fight 4- Not much to debate.
I personally had it 3-1 Pacquiao. I hate hearing how Marquez style wasn't respected. These fights were closely contested and the scorecards reflected that imo.
Castillo v Floyd, First fight to Castillio, second to Floyd
Maidana v Floyd, First fight to Maidana, second to Floyd.
Pac v Bradley, First fight to Pac, second fight to Pac
I have it 2-2, with pac winning the first two and JMM winning the final two (predicted a JMM win in the 4th fight by points).
Officially the score should be 3-1 as Pac should have won the first fight if it wasn't for a judge who did not know basic mathematics.
Juan stopping Manny was his only win to me. I gave Manny close wins because he made the fights each time and he wasn't being rocked as often as he rocked Juan. Close matches and equally talented but an edge to Manny.
Ray.
Just a heads up, that's not how you score fights.
As a fan of Pac's I scored them all three draws. I don't see he ever beat JMM convincingly and I had to give him 3 of the last 4 rounds in the third to arrive at a draw. I could also see splitting them 2-2, as some probably have, in which case I would have the third fight 115-113 JMM. That said, I also think JMM ducked the fifth fight. I was fine with that though b/c I preferred fresh matchups for both.
(Also I'm aware it's technically impossible to score the second a draw w/o even rounds due to the knockdown, but it was that close to warrant a draw IMO.)
1. PAC - Close fight
2. Marquez - Clear win
3. PAC - Clear win
4. Marquez - KO
I thought the 3rd fight was the clearest of the 3 fights that was decided on points.
I have it 2-2 with Pac winning the first 2 and JMM winning 3 and 4. I thought Juan thoroughly outboxed Pac in their 3rd meeting. Pac escaped their 2nd fight with that knockdown. The 3 knockdowns in their first meeting were too much to overcome and had it been scored correctly 6-4 round instead of 7-3 round, Pac would have won.
thank god the judges know how to score most of the time
too many people on here that think a fighter deserves a round because he was the more "careful" and "technical" fighter and grant him a victory due to ring generalship even if he was outlanded
people fall in love with the "swagger", the body language instead of paying attention to the punches landed
I thought the second fight was the clearest for Marquez too - I had it 8 rounds to 4. The third fight I thought Marquez won too but didn't think it was as wide as people made out, it was the worst of their 4 fights.
I agree that the third fight was the worst but I can't see Jmm winning 8 rds in that second fight. Might watch over later but I remember having it 6-6.
There's no f*cking way Jmm won the second fight. Especially since he was knocked down. If it's 6-6 in rds, with the kd, Manny wins. If it's 7-5 Jmm in rds, its a draw cuz of the kd. So in order for Jmm to win he needs to have been credited for 8 rds right??? Now whose gonna argue that Jmm won 8 rds in the second fight??? If I'm wrong about the scoring system feel free to correct me.
I gave him 8 rounds.
And if it's 7-5 (which I could see), then Marquez wins 114-113. Not a draw.
I don't remember how I scored the first fight but I gave the second to Marquez and the third was a draw IMO. I know that's not the popular opinion but I didn't think it was that much of a blowout for JMM. Will have to watch again.

best answer on here, honest and fair.
3-1 Pacquiao. Juan took his foot off the gas like you said late in the 3rd fight, Nacho telling him he won the fight and advised him to take the 12th round off was a huge mistake.
Jmm Should have lost the first fight cuz the judge made an error scoring rd 1 10-7 instead of 10-6. And I totally agree with him letting up in the 3rd fight. Jmm only won the last fight.
2-2
First fight I had Pac winning by 1 or 2 points
Second fight I had it 6-6 with Pac winning by 1 point because of the knockdown
Third fight I had Marquez winning by 1 or 2 rounds
4th Fight, one of them was going to get knocked out. It just happened to be Pac first.
These 2 guys are dead even. They are split down the middle everytime. One of the greatest rivalries in boxing. I'm glad I got to witness them all.
Pretty much how I see it.
It's a shame the scoring controversy overshadows how great the first two were. They are brilliant fights.
I thought the third was a masterclass in control from Marquez. One of his finest performances in many ways. Just a shame he turned so cautious in the championship rounds. I don't think it mattered too much to the judges, who were seeing the fight for Manny anyway. But in and of itself it was idiotic. Coasting was not an option in a fight like that.
