This the same Gvozdyk that was dropped and hurt by Tommy Karpency?? LOL
If this fight happens that left hand of Stevenson will surely find it's target.
]1 belt per division with ibf's rules. 1 belt with wbc/wba idiotic behaviour would be useless. every mandatory fight and eliminator would essentially be what unifications are now. we would get unification quality fights every year in every division (at least two of them). interim title is fine when a champion can't defend for at least a year. any other change wouldn't satisfy me.
This. No BS mcdonald's franchise champion or super duper big Mac champion. One champion per division.
Usyk is not an elusive boxer. He doesn't move his head and can be hit. Wilder will land at some point early on and knock him out.
People should stop referencing what Tyson Fury did to Wilder in the second fight. Fury is a 6 ft 9 inch 273 pound heavyweight. Usyk doesn't have those physical tools to pull that off so he will have to come to the taller, longer Wilder to be able to land his shots.
Wilder punching down on the smaller Usyk coming in, I see a brutal KO occurring.
I don’t see that at all contrary to Floyds and elderbes BS Tank is not a household name he’s known among boxing fans but that’s it, he doesn’t have much of a personality and like mentioned has yet to prove himself.
Now I do agree Loma isn’t exactly a huge star and Teo might be on his way but not there yet but they are more known/popular with fans not just the die hards like Tank.
Don’t let the pbc BS fool you they think if they say something enough times that it will come true ala “Tank is a such a Star” lol he’s not and they know it because if Tank is really the “star” they want people to believe he is than boxing is in a horribly sad state.
Very few stars in boxing right now only Canelo and AJ imo and Ryan is right behind them on the right path and a fight against the former p4p king and or the new king of the block Lopez would bring in more fans than Tanks smaller limited fan base.
For example a lot of ufc fans are Loma fans and now Lopez fans/haters(that’s what I see in the mma forums)so thats just part of a group those fights would bring in.
You are clearly biased. I will give you Canelo as he's fought on PPV prior to DAZN but you can't factually say the same for AJ or Ryan since neither has fought on PPV in the US. AJ is a bigger star outside America without a doubt but inside we don't know. I would say Fury is a bigger name here.
For his first PPV Tank did over 200k PPV sales during a pandemic.
Whether you like to admit it or not he's a boxing star.
Spence is more skilled by far. GGG only looks good against tomato cans. He's struggled against every decent opponent he's fought even that Japanese bum Murata.
I agree. The fight won't do good numbers. At least enough to justify two networks coming together to do a co-broadcast.
Simply put, Bob Arum hasn't done a good job promoting Crawford. He has the ESPN deal but you rarely see Crawford on any shows doing interviews. With Fury he was on every show on ESPN and had an over the top promotion for his last fight.
I think Crawford realizes he made a mistake resigning with Top Rank. It's not PBC's job to promote Crawford.
I think Berchelt means to say African-American style. The slick, defensive style you saw Mayweather and Sweet Pea utilize.
Most African fighters don't fight like that.
People keep forgetting that Bellew had already been KO'd at LHW by Adonis Stevenson. So don't put much stock into Usyk knocking him out.
Don't believe Usyk's style will lend him to be successful at HW against the elites. He is too hitable. I could even see Big baby Miller stopping him
As someone who lives in Japan, people are overstating how much money is in this fight. Murata's fights are shown on basic TV as well as DAZN.
There's no PPV model here so I don't see where the big money is coming from. There is none as shown by the fact that they lost the purse bid to Brant who's unknown stateside.
bums. that will be the agenda of top rank for Crawford and Inoue. Bob says he can't afford to give them good fights cos he's so focused on the heavyweight division.
Pretty much this. Top Ran diet of bums and guys you've never heard of.
GGG is the biggest fraud in boxing in a long time.
Only KO'd tomato cans and once he started fighting good competition he arguably lost every single one of those fights.
Of course Dazn is trying to make to Andrade/GGG unification. Two middleweight belt holders on the same network, that's a no-brainer.
If Dazn is unable to make that unification fight it cements GGG's legacy as the biggest fraud in boxing history.
Why would the top heavyweights duck a CW moving up that can't punch??
He's a really good fighter for being undisputed at CW. I give him credit for that.
But omg the hype is waaay over the top.
Crawford has never faced a top 10 welterweight. He needs to prove he can compete in the division.
All this p4p is all talk until he beats a top welterweight.
Charlos last good win was against J-Rock. He needs to get meaningful wins. He needs to fight Andrade and stop ducking him. Winner fights Canelo v Bivol winner.
Derevyanchenko was a good win. I thought Sergiy Derevyanchenko beat Golovkin too.
I agree they all need to fight each other to get a shot at Canelo. That includes Golovkin. He's done nothing since the second fight except win a robbery against Derevyanchenko and fight bums. He needs to fight one of Charlo, Andrade, or move up and fight Benavidez to earn his shot at the trilogy.
Benavidez deserves a shot at Canelo the most out of all of them.
And who the **** have Andrade and Charho fought? Andrade has never fought a current or former champion ever. Charlo hasn't fought a current or former champ at 160 yet. Both of them fought bums that noone heard of their previous fight.
Who did Murata beat? He couldn't do nothing with that glass jawed bum N'dam.
What did his team do wrong ?
Everything was done behind their backs
And , from what I understood , perfectly legal unfortunately
The whole thing was extremely shady that's for sure but apparently the team knew about the gloves just beforehand.
https://www.boxingscene.com/team-rivas-member-details-gloves-dispute-whyte-fight--141197
"On fight night, about a half hour before we were set to go into the ring, the Whyte camp suddenly told us they were not wearing the gloves that they selected at the glove selection meeting.
"Not the number one pair that they selected and not the number two pair either, but another brand of gloves that weren’t even on the table at the glove selection.
"Of course, we protested and said, ‘what was the point of having the glove selection meeting if you’re going to wear whatever you want?’ At that meeting Dillian’s representative Mark Tibbs had chosen the two sets of gloves and signed them off.
"No one said at the rules meeting, ‘oh by the way, if on the night you want to switch gloves you can.’
"To make matters worse, not only was Dillian allowed to wear these new gloves, but he was already gloved up and we weren’t even allowed to inspect them.
"Bear in mind, his camp inspected our gloves – they knew what we were wearing. In contrast we had no idea what they were using because they were allowed to pick whatever glove they wanted, tape it up and put it on.
"Even after we reluctantly agreed to let them make the change we still weren’t allowed to see the gloves.
They shouldn't have let Rivas step in the ring if this occurred. Pure negligence.
Hearn and Dillian Shyte are the biggest scumbags in boxing 100 percent but a strong team should not let their fighter be out in a dangerous situation like this.
I'm not going after Murata, particularly, cos this is true of so many. He turned Pro in 2012 & he's had 16 fights! What do these guys think they're doing? I'm not expecting them to be like Archie Moore/Ted Lewis/Max Rosenbloom/Harry Greb & have a fight every week but surely they gotta know that if they fight twice a year they are not fighting often enough?
I think the problem is his handlers probably don't have enough confidence in his abilities.
He went the distance with super chinny N'dam and got robbed. Got beat up so bad by Brant in their first fight he actually considered retirement.
Next fight for him is actually a third fight with Brant which he might not win.
Not sold on Callum Smith yet. He beat a washed up Groves and now he's the best?? That 168 tournament was crap.
All the 168 belt holders have something to prove before anybody can crown them.
