I'm sure by this point Wilder has to respect Fury's skills and his chin but by no means is he shook. He's probably chomping at the bit to get some payback
I would love to see Pac vs. Spence, Pac vs. Crawford, and or Spence vs. Crawford. I see all 3 fights as roughly 50/50 except with a slight nod towards the young lions. I can see Pac using his skill and extensive experience to leverage a win vs either of these two but on the flip side I can also see either of the two using THEIR skill and their youth to beat Pac. All of these fights should be high priority for all three men IMHO. I think the fans would most want to see any combination of these 3 fight to settle the welterweight title
I think Spence has a decent chance to win but I wouldn't risk a pac man fight unless the money was really good. Spence should go ahead and take on Crawford while they both have an intact undefeated record. I'd definitely want to see Spence/Pac but I would rather see Spence/Crawford
Not so much. It might turn out to be an OK fight but my disappointment with Spence pulling out is so great that it affects my ability to get into a Pac/Ugas fight. I feel like we got bait and switched....
I had Pac penciled in to lose against Spence. I might be mad that Spence dropped out but it is for sure not because I'm worried that Ugas will beat him. It is because I was looking forward to seeing Pac face one of the top welterweights, not this Ugas dude. I'm mad because we got bait and switched. Pac stands a better chance to win now
50-50 would be fair. I'm no expert in the inner workings of the boxing financial world but why would anyone think Spence would deserve any less than 50-50? 40-60 at the most, if it requires concessions to make the deal happen. Spence and Bud are reasonably close in terms of star power. Bud might be considered a little better by people...
It rates good enough. Sugar Shane caught him flush and probably buckled his knees a bit but he shook it off. I can't think of too many instances where he really had his chin tested because he made sure not to get hit too much
He simply chooses to still do it. Floyd could too I'm sure but he opts not to. Both men kept themselves in peak physical form all their lives so at this point it is just a matter of will
Hell no! I liked DLH a lot. I consider him one of the legends of the sport but I don't want to see him or any other washed up old fighters fight. Leave that to the new generation. Let me remember you when you were in your prime, I don't want to be reminded of how much father time takes away from a man
Charlo
Andrade
GGG
Benavidez
Plant
Bivol
Beterbiev
List them 1-7 and use any criteria you want to list them. So even if Plant isn't necessarily the fight you want, the fact it will be for undisputed, you can rank it higher than you would if it wasn't a four belt showdown.
Go!
I have a counter question for you guys....in your estimate who on this list stands the best chance of winning?
The only one that could beat him that could realistically be made would be Charlo IMO. Reminds me of GGG in a lot of ways.
What about GGG himself should he be given another shot?
Both are great fighters and it's tough to call so I'm thinking if it goes to the cards Spence will get the nod. If there is a stoppage I think Bud is the victor
I'll play along with this scenario. If we assume Bhop is in his prime and we also assume that all 4 of the others are also in their prime I guess it comes down to exactly what catch weight are we talking about. I'm ready to dismiss Cotto and Marg. right off hand. Pac makes it interesting but might not be able to overcome the size difference. I think both Floyd and Pac could win a decision if the fight was even remotely close. For some reason I don't see the judges doing Bhop ANY favors. I tend to think in all 4 cases the size difference makes the difference for Bhop. He very well could win all 4 of these fantasy fights
I thought it was a draw as well. Loma was too inactive for the first half. I can see Lopez maybe tipping the fight his way by that dominant 12th round but those score cards were crazy. I'm not upset with the outcome though, Lopez earned it
Kudos to Lopez for having the courage to make this fight. I like the fact that he is confident in himself. He is perhaps a little too lippy and I think Loma will humble him but I don't think less of Lopez for it
The dodgers should be eliminated by saturday.
There are no off days in the NLCS
I would love that but those Dodgers are loaded top to bottom and they're dangerous. I will be shocked if they are eliminated before Saturday
How young of a Mayweather are we talking? It would certainly be a great bout. Mayweather might be a bit green but his youth and skill could certainly help him to win against a Loma who is starting to age. This fight could go either way if you ask me. If you could make this fight 10 times and trust the judges not to screw anybody then I think they split the matches 5-5 or maybe 6-4
I had it as a draw. Loma gave the fight away because he was too cautious and Lopez swung the fight his way with that dominant 12th round. I was hoping for a KO or at least some knockdowns though
I'd say he definitely has the potential. Just having potential doesn't automatically mean it will happen though. Honestly I can't see Floyd having the time to take a job like that. You would think a man with his resources would have bigger and better projects going on
No contest. It's Pacquiao. Fury just happens to be champ at this moment. Pac has been a legend for a decade now.
Aside from Wilder I can't even name another fighter that Fury has fought. The only reason I even know his name is because of the wins over Wilder and his current status as champ. I need to see more fights against serious contenders from Fury before I begin to entertain him as an ATG
I'm gonna say that yes both belong in the top 10 ATG but with a disclaimer: I might be subject to recency bias, meaning I don't know much at all about boxers that lived before my time. A real boxing historian could probably lay out 10 or more cases of boxers better than Manny and Floyd but since you're asking me, my opinion is yes they both make the top 10
Probably because theyre the two best of this era and huge rivals. It’d be like liking the Celtics and Lakers.
Yeah but I see a lot of folks that are a fan of one trashing the other. That makes little sense to me. Clearly both are living legends no matter which one you prefer
Why is there such division between Pac and Floyd fans? I happen to like both fighters. They are a gift to boxing. If you are a fan of one you cant be a fan of the other? Is that how that's supposed to work?
I like Manny a lot but what bearing would knocking out an amateur (at best) have on his GOAT status? McGregor is an MMA fighter, not a boxer, so I think knocking him out has absolutely no sway for GOAT considerations. The same applies for Mayweather. That is just my opinion
Personally I have zero interest in seeing Floyd fight exhibitions or even regular fights against anybody who isn't a serious pro boxer. I give Logan Paul a 0% probability of winning. It is inevitable that Floyd will win so for me the fight is not interesting because we already know the outcome. There is a market for this sort of thing though. There is a large base of people that will pay to see this so both men will make a tidy sum. They are offering a show that some people want to see so I don't see the problem here, I just happen to be in the camp that does not find this event interesting enough to pay for
Has Fury even fought anyone else considered great? Pac has probably fought 10 opponents that could be called great, some of which are a lock to be in the boxing HOF
