Looks like HBO's gonna block B-Hop from a shot at Stevenson because of their problems with Golden Boy.... Apparently Stevenson's locked in for his next fight to be on HBO.... Ward couldn't punch his way out of a paper bag..... he's tough and good on the inside, and box well at range.... not spectacular, but a really well schooled fighter, who has sound fundamentals.... I like watching Ward.... and I guess people enjoyed seeing him get a stoppage win, but Ward's not stopping a fighter unless he's drained himself completely.... He couldn't stop alan green, who killed himself to make weight.... So please stop all this talk about how 'impressive' his victory against Chad Dawson was..... because it wasn't.... had that fight been at 175lbs, I think Ward probably beats Chad but no way in hell would he have stopped him.... Ward, Tim Bradley.... these guys fall into the same type of category for me... (ignore Tim's last performance).... They're really good boxer's, who are strong on the inside and box well... but aren't necessarily outstanding in any particular dimension.... not the quickest, not the slickest, not the strongest, definitely not the hardest hitting, but just good boxers with solid fundamentals.... They're never gonna be big attractions, but the purists will always appreciate their skills....

Peterson got a lot of notoriety because he apparently gave Floyd Mayweather some good work once upon a time.... Then he got his ass whooped by feather fisted Tim Bradley, got whooped by Victor Ortiz.... and just about scraped by Glass Jaw King Khan't eventhough he was on more testosterone than a pro body builder.... Then he comes off a suspension and fights Kendall Holt, who's nowhere near elite.... and from that.... all of sudden Mathysse beating him, makes Mathysse the best 140lber out there??? because of Peterson? atleast if it was Peterson fully-juiced.... I'm not buying it....

for Mathysse so hard..... He's had a couple of close decisions go against him, and he's a tough rugged guy.... But in all truth he's not an overwhelming favorite against Danny like people would have you believe on this forum.... Danny's not the quickest, but neither is Lucas.... They both hit hard and have great chins.... It's a 50/50 fight... there's no obvious outcome.... stylistically it makes for a great fight....

Both fighters coming off losses..... Pacquiao coming off back to back defeats.... and the worst knock out defeat of his career.... and Rios being exposed as a one-dimensional slugger, tailor made for Pacquiao.... Rios is a 'some-what' credible name for Pacquiao to regain his confidence... Sure he's tough.... but Margarito's a great example of what tough gets you against Pacquaio.... Rios is a young fighter, who's moving up a weight division and is probably too brave for his own good and could face a career threatening defeat... is it worth it? and for those who think Pacquiao's slipped... or lost a step.... fighting guys like Marquez, Mayweather, Martinez, Ward is a far different proposition from facing the likes of Rios and Margarito.... Sure, they'll work hard and have some success but ultimately they're there to be hit all day.... This is effectivelly Pacquiao fighting a smaller version of Margarito.... Margarito's only advantage against Pacquiao was size.... Rios doesn't even have that.... it's a horrible fight, in terms of the fighters being evenly matched....

to overcome.... Andre Berto.... cos that's how it goes.... you move up to welterweight.... have a toughish fight against Andre Berto, and then your next fight.... FLOYD MAYWEATHER.

He's gonna be fighting Devon Alexander after he comes through his defense against Lee Purdy.... They've been lining that fight up for a while.... and then possibly Canelo next may if he beats Cotto....
