went chasing a big cheque....
and has effectively ruined his career....
getting stopped by a light puncher like ward and now being totally obliterated....
bernard'll whoop stevenson....
Guys, he struggled to make 168 remember? He went to 175 and felt good. He then wants to fight the best and goes back down again to 168 and get's stopped. He then goes back up in weight to 175 and fights a puncher.
Are you telling me that his weight did not have an impact on his chin resistance. I never thought much of Dawson. I'm not a fan of converted southpaws. I feel the same about Ward. I'm just not sold on these converted guys, but it just seems that the weight loss and gain has affected him.
I have no reliable proof of this. Just a feeling.
Also like someone already mentioned, I think this was a bad choice of opponent after the TKO loss to ward. He should have chosen a not so aggressive/hungry/young fighter..
At one point I had Chad in the lbxlb list. I found it difficult for someone to beat him because of his boxing abilities + physical attributes then when he fought pascal I felt he didn't have it in him, it seemed he had lost the passion.

It wasn't even a big check tbh... Sad part about it.

dawson was never going to beat anybody with a punch.he was damn near ko'd by glenn ****ing johnson.there is a good reason he has avoided every decent puncher at 175,and we saw that reason tonight.i mean look what pascal did to him.cmon on.this has nothing to do with weight loss.he throws alot of lazy punches and doesnt keep his hands high.recipe for a k.o
No one believes what you have to say until the fighter you like is ko'd. You saw Pac ko'd and Marquez was on PEDS. I'm with Ray. The punch landed in a spot where it's hard to control your equilibrium. Floyd was hit almost in the same spot by Shane.
Chad has been on the slide for about 3 years now. Watch his fights. Anyone who takes the fight to him gets the better of him. Hopkins showed him too much respect IMO
Stevenson was probably a bad choice of an opponent after losing a knockout loss from being weight drained.
It's not necessarily the end of his career, but it doesn't look good.
yep. probably.
He got hurt by a punch that landed in front of the ear and the side of the head! Thats why he couldn't recover in his legs fast enough! It wasn't a crisp shot to the jaw and it wasn't on the chin! I doubt he fully recovers his legs if the ref lets him continue!
I know something about Chad because he's out of what used to be my gym!
he was trained by Brian Clarke at Ring One Boxing in New Haven Conn. and the trainer he's been looking for has been at his old gym for years!
Chad was a pure boxer ever since he started and doesn't bring a big punch but he has terrific speed which he doesn't show case anymore! He thinks he needs to bang when he doesn't have that dimention in his arsonal!!!
Kind of "forgot who he is, and where he came from"! Can't stand in front of punchers you make them look like their standing in cement or you get stoned!!
Go home Chad! Ray Corso
