I don't see Hatton or Cotto beating Mayweather! He is too fast, too elusive and has too much power for anyone in the division. He is the top pound-4-pound fighter in the world and will be for some time!
Vitaliy offered 60-40 split to James Toney.
Toney and Goosen refused and demanded 50-50 ... and this is after Toney had been caught using steroids! Toney is not even a belt holder right now, why should he be offered equal split?
What is worse is that Dan Goosen is now coming back and accusing Vitaliy of being a coward. Goosen is just really DISGUSTING.
Vitali should reduce his offer to Toney further to 80-20 as a response to this trash-talking.
Why did NOT Goosen/Toney take the 60-40 offer ???!!!!!!!!!!!
They need a big name to make any fight happen. Vitali cannot and will never be a big draw on his name alone. If that were the case every Klitschko fight would be on Boxing After Dark, fighting for food stamps!
I wouldn't call either of these guys quitters! Both simply were overmatched in their respective bouts. In Gatti's case, he would have gone out for the final six rounds or until Mayweather beat the life out of him, that is just the kind of fighter that he is. I would say the same for Tsyzu, he is a warrior!

Hahaha the Post-Catskills Tyson was nowhere near the talent of a Roy Jones at his peak.. but before Tyson left the Catskills (Pre-June1988), he was more talented than Jones could ever dream of being.
Against Lewis, Williams and McBride etc the guy was an absolute joke, but we're not talking about that ;)
Don't get me wrong, I think Tyson "was" great and I'm a huge Tyson Fan, but he should have hung the gloves up after the Lewis thrashing! Tyson was a puncher, Jones is a boxer - that's the difference!
How can anyone argue with the fact that RJJ was great? He is one of the all time great boxers! I still don't think he's done! The first fight with Tarver was close, and of course Jones is going to come out on top! He was KO'd against Tarver the second time, as well as with Johnson, but as far as Griffin goes, yes he schooled Roy up to the point of the disqualification, but Roy was on the verge of finishing the fight when he fouled him! Jones will get revenge against Tarver and Johnson by KOing both of them within the next year!
Tyson was. He didnt get KOd
in humiliating fashion like
Jones. He didnt go out like
a chump like Jones did.
Are you kidding me? Did you see him fight Williams and McBride? In terms of actual boxing talent, it's Roy Jones! In terms of impact on the sport of boxing, without question it's Mike Tyson!
I think there are better fights out there for Zab! Not to take anything away to Tsyzu, but after his last fight I wouldn't put him near the top of the division right now. Should Zab lose this one, it would be a serious setback, however, should he win - he avenges a loss and beats a big name which does nothing but help him! It's a toss up.
4 sure looking forward to that one!! PBF is taking on all comers and Margarito would be a good match up!! I'd like to see him in against Oscar at 147!! That'd be a mega fight!
Kevin Kelly thrashed Manny Pacquiao when he was a studio guest during ESPN Friday Night Fight saying when you nullify Pacquiao's left, then he's nothing. Let's see how's he gonna do that.
Looks like its put up or shut up time for Kelly! I think Pac will destroy him!

Tarver-Jones III Done Deal!
By G. Leon
July 27, 2005 - Light heavyweight king Antonio Tarver and Roy Jones Jr's advisor Brad Jacobs have informed Boxingtalk.com that a deal has been reached for the two light heavyweight adversaries to settle the score in a rubbermatch on HBO PPV October 1. No site has been solidified as of yet, but Jacobs told Boxingtalk one should be secured by the end of the week. Expect much more to follow, including a MUST READ exclusive interview with Tarver.
now im looking for pics of Jones training
My Pick: Jones Jr. by UD :boxing:
RJJ KO By 8
The one thing that Maussa has going for him is that he has a great chin! Did you see some of the shots that he took from Harris? Not that Harris was impressive on that night, but some of the shots that Maussa walked through could have stopped a train. Hatton better not buy too much into this "Maussa is a bum" chatter and be prepared to be in top notch shape for this fight or he could end up on the canvas like Vivian!
I'm torn on Tyson. Do I find his fights entertaining? Yes! Do I continue to watch his fights? Yes! Would I consider him one of the Top Heavyweight "Boxers" of all time? No! Would I consider him one of the most influential boxers of all time? Yes!
He was quick and powerful in his prime, but once he lost his intimidation factor people started to figure out that all you have to do is get him past round three and if he doesn't KO you he will get frustrated and begin to take shot after shot before resorting to some sort of illegal tactic. For that reason, he will never crack anyone's top 10 list of heavy's!
All I have to say is that the KT KO of Zab is one of the nicest I've seen! Would love to see the rematch as Zab is a more distinguished fighter now, but if he destroys KT, all you'll hear is that KT is old and was overmatched by a fighter in his prime. Well guess what, that's boxing. Zab was young and inexperienced and KT was in his prime the first time, so I guess what goes around comes around!
Roach is up there with the top guys like Manny Steward! But I like what Buddy is doing. The way he was able to transfer the knowledge he gained as a fighter to being a teacher, not many guys can or will do that! I look for big things from him.
I would drop him a couple spots, he would be under Pac and Raheem though. But I think he will redeem himself and be on top of both soon.
How can anyone say that they would rate Raheem above Morales? Before he beat Morales he was nobody. He needs to prove himself a lot more before he cracks anyone's list!
I watched the fight and to be completely truthfull, you can probably "give" two rounds to Morales, but I wouldn't actually say that he won any round. Other than the one big punch he landed in Round 11, he didn't do anything the rest of the fight. He probably took this fight for granted and didn't expect Raheem to be as sharp and quick as he was. As far as Raheem running, that's part of boxing. Punch and move, its a gameplan. If I wanted to watch two guys just stand in the middle of the ring and slug it out I'd watch some underground streetfighting crap! Raheem proved to be quite a skillful boxer on this night, let's hope he can continue the momentum!

How can that be 1991 when Jones is holding up a sign saying 'IBF World Champ'? He won the IBF World champs in 93. Is it just a typo man? I found it on the East Side site.
He is not holding the sign. It is a text box inserted in the picture pointing out the fact that he is IBF World Champ!
Wlad need to legitimize his career. He needs a big win to do it! One of two things is going to happen. He is going to beat Peter and be looked at as a top heavyweight or Peter is going to demolish him and he will probably fade away. I look for the latter to happen.
That would be a great fight for Harrison he would probably TKO Holyfield and get a title shot I mean everyone who beats Tyson or Holyfield still gets their name out there. Why I don't know but they do.
This is what is wrong with boxing! Using the name of a great fighter to boost a young fighters record. When Holyfield is damaged beyond repair there will still be promoters who will put him in the ring and they should be held criminally responsible!
