Looks like Floyd is sticking with Top Rank Promotions, and will fight on a PPV card on August 12, probably in Vegas vs. Antonio Margarito....why such a quick jump to welterweight? 140 is boxing's best division....or will Margarito come down in weight? Either way, this is an awesome match-up and will help to solidify PBF's place atop the pound-for-pound rankings, I believe a win vs. Margarito would weigh heavier in the minds of the hardcore fans than his W over Gatti....
I don't think Floyd and Cotto will happen soon. Cauze bob arum said Cotto needs more experience, they might fight at 147, it will be like leonard -duran of our generation. heres the link http://www.boxingtalk.net/pages/free4261.htm
you wanna know sumthin interesting?
Mayweatha has fought only BUMS at 140lbs and he thinkin of movin up. nyahahahahahahaha. Fight Cotto or Hatton!!! Mayweatha hasn't really faced good opposition at 140lbs. Fought bums.
I dont agree 100%, he fought with Demarcus Corley, Artur gatti. And he beat shit out of these guys. Are you telling me they are bums? ( Nah man, floyd is just too goood.)
But you are right he shouldn't move up to 147. He should at least have 1 big fight. Probably that what he is going to do.

Where did you get this information from?
PBF's speed will be the only advantage he will have againist Margarito. People underesrimate the fact that Margarito can box, if Floyd doesn't take advantage of Margarito being a traditionally slow starter he will be in serious trouble. Margarito will walk through PBF punches and either win a decision or stop him late. This is also the reason that if Floyd moves up to 147, he should fight Judah. Even though Zab has had a revivial at 147, he still carries the label of being chinny. On the other hand Margarito has a chin (like every Mexican it seems) and knows PBF can't hurt him.
I don't think Mayweather can seriously hurt him but if he comes in thinking he can't be hurt by Mayweather he just might end up hurt. That's the same way Gatti thought as well and we seen what happen to him. It doesn't matter how good Margarito can box he still isn't on Mayweather's level. Mayweather has many advantages over Margarito. Speed, defense, much greater boxing skills and the only advantages I give Margarito is being taller and bigger. His reach won't matter because Mayweather's speed will neutralize that. Margarito is just too wide of a puncher to beat Mayweather. Mayweather would see every wide punch coming and counter Margarito to death.

The only think I really see to compare Castillo and Margarito's style is pressure. Castillo likes to apply pressure to get inside and hook to the body. Margarito puts pressure on his opponents but for the most part fights on the outside where he can land his wide punches. Margarito is big and strong but is made to order for Mayweather. He can't fight on the outside and beat Mayweather.
I really wonder if his team might want to look into this.
I doubt it, they might want him to lose.
That goes for anyone that fights PBF.
His style is similiar to JLC and Castillo did very well in both fights, just that Margarito is bigger and stronger. The only thing Margarito has to adapt to is the speed of PBF. The Santos fight was wrong man he won that one and your forgeting Santos was weighing 175 pounds that night and couldnt stop Margarito from punishing him.
I have a feeling Margarito and PBF are good friends, I smell something fishy here.

Yes theres problem with goverment. Not now, but there was some problem 1 month ago. But uzbek boxing are warriors. (except abdulaev's last fight.) I'll tell you from now on after 10 years there will be new champions from UZB
Well, good to hear things have calmed down a bit then. I really want to visit Central Asia someday, especially the silk road sites.
Hey, I thought Abdulaev looked good, no shame in losing to Cotto, the guy's a boxing machine and wears you down.
4 sure looking forward to that one!! PBF is taking on all comers and Margarito would be a good match up!! I'd like to see him in against Oscar at 147!! That'd be a mega fight!
Prove it to me that Margarito is more than an average fighter. He looks good against ok opposition but when he steps it up with a higher caliber he is outclassed and neutralized. Plus Margarito cant deal with boxers well, Floyd's speed and elusiveness will give Margarito fits.

go to boxing talk and theres article call Arum: "It went from Ali, to Sugar Ray Leonard, to Pretty Boy Floyd!"
Its middle of page.
Thanks, I found it. So it's Nov. 12, not Aug. 12...despite what I said, that makes a lot more sense.
btw, do you live in Uzbekistan? Isn't there a bunch of crazy shit going on there right now?
all this is to see who will make floyd the most $$$ the people are the one paying to see the fights. personally i won't pay for any of the above mentioned fights with floyd. i'll catch the replay. unfortunately floyd ruins his skills with the lack of character. something i don't feel like funding.
people actually believed Floyd would be fighting again by August 12th? hahahahaha, that's funny. How long have those of you that thought this would happen been watching boxing?
Well Mayweather is mad hyped now to get in as many fights as he can, so it wouldn't surprise me if he broke the rules and took another fight so soon after his last one. Still, a little more information on this would be nice...hell, a link to the original article would help.
Floyd will kill Margarito. First off he is flat footed and there to hit. Floyd traded with Corley to prove a point he would not due that against Margarito and would slow him down with body punches before knocking him out around round 8 or 9. Peace
