Don't get me wrong, I think Tyson "was" great and I'm a huge Tyson Fan, but he should have hung the gloves up after the Lewis thrashing! Tyson was a puncher, Jones is a boxer - that's the difference!
Nah, he should of hung the gloves up after the Spinks fight(he hinted retirement at the time) because he had nothing left to prove and no hunger anymore, he only stayed in boxing as a freakshow one-punch-hoper who needed money and girls to keep his mind active and away from suicide.
Tyson was a boxer before he became a puncher, he was a trained boxer by Cus and his peak was probably four or five fights before Spinks - just before Robin Givens distracted him.
Hahaha the Post-Catskills Tyson was nowhere near the talent of a Roy Jones at his peak.. but before Tyson left the Catskills (Pre-June1988), he was more talented than Jones could ever dream of being.
Against Lewis, Williams and McBride etc the guy was an absolute joke, but we're not talking about that ;)

Are you kidding me? Did you see him fight Williams and McBride?

Tyson was. He didnt get KOd
in humiliating fashion like
Jones. He didnt go out like
a chump like Jones did.
Are you kidding me? Did you see him fight Williams and McBride? In terms of actual boxing talent, it's Roy Jones! In terms of impact on the sport of boxing, without question it's Mike Tyson!
Cheats Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, Roy Jones and James Toney were all juiced up on steroids.
Teenage buddies Mike Tyson and Chris Eubank were natural.

:D
JOnes isn't it obvious
No. It's obvious that Tyson was more talented in my opinion. I've got footage of Tyson winning the Golden Gloves and I've got footage of Jones winning the Golden Gloves, in my opinion Tyson was in a league of his own as far as potential goes.
btw i dont care if tyson cleaned out the heavy's cause that division was weak as fuck, trevor berbick, bruce seldon please......
An undefeated Tony Tucker would of won every round against Lennox Lewis. An undefeated Michael Spinks would of won every round against Lennox Lewis. Tyson was the underdog in those fights but overcame adversity. Then you have guys like Pinklon Thomas and Tony Tubbs who reigned as World Champions for years, absolutely genuine quality fighters who Tyson somehow beat so fucking easily!!
Tyson is the Youngest Ever Heavyweight Champion of the World. And did you see the way he won the title? He knocked Berbick down three times with one punch!
Tyson beat the current WBC champion, the current WBA champion, the current IBF champion, the former WBC champion, the former WBA champion, the former IBF champion, and then he knocked out the Lineal Champion in one round. All of this at just 20-21 years old while boxing out of the Catskills. He reigned as lb4lb #1 for years as a Heavyweight ahead of Hagler/Hearns/Leonard et al.
who did he beat, tell me that.....
roy jones beat hopkins, toney, mccallum, pazienza, hill, ruiz, tarver and lucas. tyson beat razor ruddock an old larry holmes and a blown up light heavy
your still mad cause eubank wasnt given a shot by roy when eubank was on the downside of his career....

fucking exactly.
Roy Jones avoided the best fighters in all of his weight divisions, he avoided all of them!
Mike Tyson cleared out the whole of his weight division, he beat all of them! Roy Jones didn't clear out any weight division, Mike Tyson did. Tyson was better, much better infact.

roy jones was on top of boxing for 10-12 years
4 weight classes, multiple titles

The first fight was more intense and better excitement, the second fight was a bigger occasion(huge occasion) and more of a tactical affair.

Jones would have to be superhuman to be considered more skillful than a Catskills Tyson, a Catskills Tyson had better skills than I've ever seen.
Jones was athletic and had some reflexes, but in terms of fundamental skills he was terrible.

You are kidding right?
Danny Williams? Kevin Fuckin McBride! How is losing to these two not going out like a chump!
RJJ had more 'talent' by a long way.. Tyson was a terror but the question was about talent not about intimidation or knockout power!
