Let's look at thier individual fights against each other.
Oscar schooled Tito for the majority of the fight, however, avoided trading at the end because of Tito's power. Tito still lost more rounds = Oscar won (IMO).
Shane beat Oscar (razor thin dec) in the first fight.
Oscar beat Shane in the second fight (Shane even thought Oscar won that fight).
Forrest had his 15 mins of fame against Shane. Simply a bad style match-up for Shane; He'll lose to Vernon 90 of 100 times. He lost to him in the amateurs as well.
Winky schooled Tito in a very safety first boring fight. (Winky stinks out the house all the time, he's ...........boring).
Winky beat Shane twice (Too big for Sugar).
Given this, I got to have Oscar, Tito and Shane in a 3 way tie with Winky and Vernon after them. Yes they have victories over Tito and Shane, but they are just boring man. Just cuz they beat a man, doesn't make them a better fighter; They just have a style that better suits them against that individual.
I think Winky might be getting too much credit. A fight against the Oscar who beat Vargas, or the Viper before he got all of his injuries, would be tough to call.
Oscar was better than Tito, he just got bad advice from his corner in their fight.
Tito has a slight edge over Oscar cause he ruined the undefeated fighters like Carr, Campas and Mayorga and Oscar chickenhawked them and got the leftovers. I think Mosley has the most natural talent but should have dominated 140 for legacy purposes. Winky is close in the running, but I can never forget his loss to Julio Cesar Vasquez where Winky was all over the canvas. A fighter non of the others on the list would have lost to.
The best Now? Winky - no question!
Ever? Id say Tio ever so slightly, They have all lossed to 1 of them, except Winky who lost to Vargas who in turn has lost to Mosley, Oscar and Tito! So its a styles make fights thing again but if u gave them the same 10 oppenents to fight i think Trinidad does best at his prime! All greats tho bar Forrest who is/was just very good!
That is merely an opinion, which I'm sure you would find plenty who disagree with you. Oscar beat Tito, number one, and plenty others. Tito's record is not better. He lost at least 20 rounds between Hopkins and Wright. Also he was schooled by DLH.
DLH has never been owned like Tito was.
Are you from Puerto Rico or are you Puerto Rican? Answer that, that's all I need to know.
I agree that Oscar has the better resume and is the best ALL ROUND fighter from the list with Tito right behind him... however take into consideration, many of his big fights he took after tito had already faught, which let him see train for a better approach to a fight being that him and tito normally approach a fight in the same mannor (unless they're fightin eachother which brings me to my next point) -> but he did not beat Tito despite the controversy, no one can remember Oscar ever running in a fight, but he ran like a bitch against Tito. That makes it obvious he felt power that he didnt like and saw the great possibility of getting TKO'd... smart for him but not becoming of a fighter and Hall of Famer which he with out a doubt is. He should have fought like that...point blank.
forrest is lost in the elite, even though he beat mosley twice, you should vargas there instead since he fought all 4 of them, and the only match ups that didnt happen are mosley-trinidad and dela hoya-Wright.
Rican fighters seem to lack mental toughness and heart. Look at Camacho and Tito..two of the most gifted fighters their have been. Very weak minds.. If they had hearts of the average Mexican fighters youd be talking about top 20 all time greats.
WTF are you talking about man?
Trinidad was a killer, if you had his heart you would be able to lift yourself up off the couch.
I was actually thinking about this the other day.
I think you guys are forgetting one thing. Vernon Forrest has only lost to 1 fighter before. And that was an ultra-hungry Mayorga who Vernon elected to trade with.
I remember after Vernon starched Shane I thought that Vernon could have taken out Oscar as well and I think he could have kept it technical enough to beat Tito as well, at that time.
You have to admit, Vernon could fight.
winky is the best, then oscar, then shane.

then forrest
winky could beat evryone of them, oscar could beat everyone but winky and is pretty even with shane, shane could beat tito and is even with de la hoya, tito could only beat forrest, forrest just shane but because of his style
oscar easily
then tito
then sugar (who did he beat? oscar only n da first fight)
then winky
vernon
I agree with this 100%.
edit-
Trinidad did NOT beat del la hoya.. stop catching feelings.
legacywise oscar.
the fighter who would beat them all is winky, but he is also the biggest guy of the 5 mentioned.
oh, and whoever claims that the whitaker that tito fought was even a shadow of the whitaker that Oscar fought is a complete idiot, who does not know or understand boxing. plain and simple.
Trinidad beat de la hoya and i'm not puerto rican, hell i'm not even hispanic. Oscar is overrated, sure he has names on his resume, but lets take a good look at it.
Chavez- old and he already lost twice within the last 3 years before this fight.
Camacho- he was simply a name by then, nowhere near the monster that dominated the 80s.
Whitaker- controversial victory
Quartey- controversial victory
Not to mention that half of de la hoya's names are fuckin featherweights. Trinidad didnt need to pick on guys that small. How many oscar wins are trinidad leftovers, like 6 or 7.
Tito> de la hoya
A prime Benitez would own DLH, since he folds up against other good boxers...and DLH never proved he could, he took the loss like a bitch, and took Trinidad to court instead of rematching him..
Trinidad didn't win that fight and everybody knows it.
Stop being biased. There are more greats other than Puerto Rican fighters.
Trinidad is a great fighter but he would've lost to good boxers, and he DID lose (to DLH, Hopkins, Winky).
I want to see a rematch with Freitas or a fight with Chi for Barrios. Both I think he can win in upset fashion.
You would rather see him fight Chi than Famoso? Are you serious?
What you think about your boy fighting my boy? I would love to see that fight, it would be a fucking war.
