This fight is a reminder that even the best of the best can be caught; --that everyone has a puncher's chance. We remember the very exact same moment with Frazier-Ali, Lewis-Rahman and many more.. These guys (Ali, Lewis) has been down and out due to one lucky punch, as was the case to many others who suffered the same fate; but the difference is; they have been able to redeem themselves because they had been given the opportunity to do so; in this case, both Frazier and Rahman had given them rematches, and it resulted to a clear loss for both of them, and the verification, that indeed, they had just executed a lucky punch that caught the other fighters off-guard on a bad night. Their loses, allowed Ali and Lewis to re-write their own history, and for us majority of fans to ignore and virtually erased in our memory that terrible knockout they both suffered because we know it's just one silly lucky punch that put them out.
Now, basing from the past, my recommendation for Juan Manuel Marquez, is not to give Manny Pacquiao a 5th fight; Or suffer the very same history of Rahman and Frazier. The evidence and direction flow of history is clearly going there. To the majority of fans, all they see in that fight is that terrible knockout manny had suffered, but to those who have a keen eye of the sport they know what the reality is: Manny Paquiao has finally figured Juan Manuel Marquez out. Giving a 5th and any other succeeding fights to manny will result in successive losses by marquez via unanimous decisions or at most stoppage due to blood and cuts. I will bet my own house on this!
So please juan enough already; you already began to tarnish your supposedly great legacy by losing to bradley; now, giving pacquiao another chance will virtually downgrade your legacy to just another good mexican fighter; we all know you don't want to be 'just another'; --you want to be one of the greatest mexican fighter right?.. So stop these nonsense already retire and be content on that; once upon a time;--one hella' lucky punch you've made.
I personally thought they've done a good job for the last two years. But obviously can be better; a lot better, if GBP and TOPRANK could have somehow and someway to end this pathetic cold war.
He's showing what he plans to do with maidana, as the poor disadvantaged and mismatched slugger would try to walk him. The strength of course will not be as what he was showing on the video; for he will be always wary that maidana might punch him back. In this video, the sparring partner role is to just receive the punches and not fight back.
Victor Ortiz will never be out of job in boxing as long as we wants to stay; because he is always a bang for the buck as an under card. Sooner or later this could be his main role in gbp.
This is why for as long as i've known; this cold has been a cold war for so long just because oscar was still a major part of the company.
Believe it or not, --this fishnet wearer is the only thing that's stopping this cold war into becoming a full blown war.
Once these two money grabbers formed their own alliance and a separate company, then the fate of boxing is sealed for a good 40-50 years most probably.
Factor?? Probably angulo took a valium or some sort of anti-depressant the night before the fight. He was really relaxed out there taking bomb after bomb while giving canelo some tenderly punches. :lol1: :lol1:
victor ortiz should hire a psychologist beside the typical boxing coach, it's time to fix his mental inferiority. His boxing is good; he is a class B and now a solid B-, but he could be B+ at most if he could improve his mental stamina.
They are probably both have some worries. Froch, because he already knows groves can knockout him down any time or maybe knocked him out as well. Groves, he is not sure if he can stand the pressure that froch is going to give him this time around, as evidenced by the last fight; he looked helpless as froch bombarded him with flurries, resulting in stoppage whether he deserved it or not.
Angulo is punching from the very first bell as if he was very scared that canelo would break like a glass. And so he certainly punched him with tenderly loving care.. Very funny!
Everything has been talked about between these two arseholez; everyone understand, so now we have come full frucking sausage circle here on nsb. :fing26:
Bold prediction. But more likely, it's not gonna happen. Bradley is not someone who can be knockout easily, he's got one of the most amazing recuperative powers the game has ever seen and this dude can't easily be cut as well; He's just gonna stand up knockdown after knockdowns, that's just it.
My prediction is a solid unanimous decision for pacquiao. This is gonna be exciting fight, no doubt about it, it's gonna rain punches in bunches from round one to twelve. This is a fight that you will get you real value for money; so get the most expensive seat you can afford or a ppv; this is gonna be a real treat!:boxing:
It's garcia for me. His style is somewhat ordinary and he is not a speedster either. Khan is surely gonna beat him, when he suddenly connected that one big looping left hook, now his fight with lucas was interesting it's a 50-50 fight but people was so focused on lucas's power and that made all the more danny look so special at the end of the fight. Main thing is, he is able to take lucas's power so even his chin is surprisingly good. I think it also helps that luck is on danny's side. Those are the fights that he could really lose, but, he actually did better than he is supposed to.
Froch for me is in different situation he is awkward, relentless has power and a great chin, he is some sort of a skilled margarito type. I understand that in some instances sometimes this type of fighter can dominate and it is only right that he should be schooled by someone like ward.
Yes absolutely; maidana is absolute cherry pick for him or mayweather; same thing with the leonard's or the durans of these magnificent bloody sport; --mythical pugilists or ATG's who have already surpassed elite status.
Not surprisingly, these are the type of fighters that makes pacquiao look so good in particular; because, you are entering his area of expertise, which is offense. --In this era, nobody is as complete in the offensive department as this midget. "He doesn't only carry the heavy weapons with him but he is bringing those pesky little guided missiles as well."
If he is faced with an offensive, slow-plodding type no matter how relentless that fighter is. You are gonna lose; not just merely lose, but pounded to rubble and if you decide to put on that shield; you'll gonna look just like it; --all night long.
Both contributed to one of the greatest boxing experience years in a decade. But most specially showtime for it's stacked undercards. I wish HBO would follow the stacked under card format too, that will really help boxing.
I thought broner is already nailed in his coffin for a while now.:blow: Only maidana can hopefully open it. Floyd is also so cunning on his advice to skip maidana and just go back to 140. While this is true and sound advice, if broner follows this and dared not to defy odds, then that is the final nail in his coffin. He will and always be treated as class b or b+ at most. by not defying odds, he had deprived his own self the opportunity to be great, if he really truly believed that he is one.
Cotto is making the right choice. Canelo will always be there after the martinez fight, because the guy is simply too young. Martinez for bragging rights, great thing about this is, even if cotto loses, there is no doubt canelo would still fight him somewhere down the road because cotto is still a good and bankable name.
wtf are you guys talking racism about, that is just your own interpretation, predator is an ICON! In science fiction world, it's totally a badass character! And what's funny is it really looked like mayweather sr. just like the manny roach joke they are really identicals, it's totally funny!!:blow:
As long as they fight, it's a lose lose situation to everyone including themselves. To us fans, we are deprived of some of the amazing matches that can only happen if they join forces together, to them, some of the most lucrative fights that will earn them an el-dorado type of riches can never happen due to them being both idiots by letting pride and ego get the better of themselves.
But the most important factor is. By helping each other, boxing could go back to the days of thunder when they are the king of all sports once again!!
floyd and khan are not too far off in terms of power. When they both land flush and unexpectedly it could hurt. They both don't have that granite chin as well.
If pac vs provo happens, there is a very big possibility that the fight will be stopped because of too much bleeding due to cuts. Provo, has unfortunately, a very light and thin skin and manny punches through his knuckles more than usual. There is a reason why almost all of manny's opponents bleeds and gets lumps and bumps all over the face after the fight; -- the bone to bone impact will make it easier to cut and bump a person's skin; especially those with lighter and thin skins.
legs; specially that lower thigh, --are used in mma as part of their defense and offense regularly. As it is, it's safe to say only a miracle can make silva go back into this sport again.
