HBO has the fighters showtime wants..... stacked cards .... anyone can hire a bunch of bums and have them fight untill they weed each other out does it mean they will win once they make it to the top against proven amateurs turned pro's .. in other words p4p showtime does not own much fighters who would be able to defeat the top hbo guys
read this and think about it a bit
I loved watching boxing on both networks. My favorite fight of the year was Rigo's domination over Donaire. Rigo going above and beyond the fighter of the year was just an amazing thing to see happen.
Overall though, IDK. It's boxing. Both companies had great fights, cards and hype of fresh new talent.

It's close but overall I think HBO wins but I don't keep a running score. If it's boxing between world rated fighters then I am watching it on Showtime or HBO. I don't watch pay for view for $50 or more when they show it for free in a week. I can wait a week. I am not poor but I don't have money to throw away either.
Both contributed to one of the greatest boxing experience years in a decade. But most specially showtime for it's stacked undercards. I wish HBO would follow the stacked under card format too, that will really help boxing.
Showtime had the better 2013. Stacked cards, better more competitive fights. HBO got lucky with some gems of fights that weren't really expected to be that way. HBO had an ok year also.
I'm just glad I subscribe to both.
If you're a true boxing fan, you appreciate what both have broadcasted this year. However, I believe SHO has really stepped up their game and surpassed HBO this year. They have really gone all in with their commitment to boxing and it has shown. I believe they have put together the better cards out of the two.
