Dana White, the Zuffa trash belt, and a Saudi monopoly are worse for boxing than legacy promoters and organizations. I wouldn’t be glazing White just cause Hearn is a snake.
There's gotta be a reason why Thurman hasn't fought in like 10 years. Even Haymon knows his purse demands are ridiculous.
Thurman is by far a bigger star than Crawford. His TV ratings are always phenomenal and he carried the PPV with Pacquiao which sold very well. It’s not even close.
If Thurman could carry a PPV he would've already headlined several of them before Pacquiao, knowing how greedy Haymon is.
Stank Davis isn't a full time jr. lightweight. Nobody outside of the most hardcore fans would even recognize who Jojo Diaz is. These are all the top fighters in the division. Stop pretending that not acknowledging a paper champ like Diaz is the same thing as ignoring a top pound for pound fighter.
This forum barely has any stories on this event and they have the same parent company as Showtime. Few people know who the Charlos are and there isn't a single person in America who could pick out Rosario or Derevyachenko out of a lineup. It's not looking good.
:lol1:
Boxrec isn't reliable at all but it's fun to laugh with sometimes.
I get excited with futures props though, people want to make futures for stuff that make never take place, but good odds are good odds dammit.
They get their information directly from promoters.
The Ring Magazine is owned by a promoter so there title holds no significant value anymore. The WBA and WBC are the most corrupt organizations and have the most BS titles. The WBO and IBF do dumb things but not on the same level as everyone else. I would say lineal has the most historical importance and is therefore the most prestigious compared to the rest.
lol...when did anyone say he was an a-side fighter or claim he was a draw...lol
kenny porter "call us we can make a fight"
week later bud craword on camera "nah thats not on our radar...nothing there for me"
meanwhile the pbc hating crowd is claiming that thurman asked for 10 mil cause bomac said so lol.....why would he be asking thurman for a fight...nothing there for crawford there either?!?!
That Crawford-obsessed sociopath revelated says it all the time, and he uses fights where Porter was a B-side as proof that he's a draw.
The Taylor fight will be on ESPN+. All the promo they've posted on twitter has the ESPN+ logo. They're trying to put Taylor-Ramirez on ESPN so it wouldn't make sense that they wouldn't televise his next fight on one of their platforms. The Beterbiev fight is on the 25th according to ESPN.com but BoxRec has it for October 9. The price for the Charlo card hasn't been announced but Stephen Espinoza indicated it would be similar to previous Showtime pay per views.
Not when DAZN ain’t paying Canelo his $35 mil per fight. They can’t prevent him from making a living.
How is Showtime going to pay him $35 million? There's no gate and if they put it on PPV it'll be a massive flop. Why would Canelo take a pay cut and piss of his employer? I don't see it happening.
lol...yet none of these guys ever walk away from al or the pbc....and guys are always thanking uncle al on tv...and some fighters are even naming their kids after him.........i guess with all that evidence its you who gets its all and understand it! yeah the pbc is inflating numbers and the guys arent making any real money! lol...****ing imbeciles i swear...if guys were leaving the pbc and happy to get out from under al ASAP you might have a legit point
some of you are worse than the left wing/libs...those guys need a daily dose of trump/GOP hate or they go insane....watching some of you is no different...anyone involved with al haymon has a thread? let me go get my daily fix!!! lol....unreal watching some of you so called "men"....
haymons guys love him and haymon is good at what he does..hes successful....when he stops doing ppvs then ill agree or say that ppv is dead...till then he wouldnt be doing them if he was himself and people money
some of you idiots have no real idea what haymon does and how he does it.....its not that hard to see and understand but some of you really have 0 idea how haymon sets it all up beautifully and eliminates the arum types and puts more bread into his fighters pockets
Nobody:
Curt Henning: Did you know Leo named his kid after Al Hymen?
I always take these numbers with a grain of salt. This is what Kevin Iole had to say about how PPV numbers are reported: https://i.imgur.com/mcCNXzF.png
11 years ago the UFC put on a pay-per-view to compete against Mayweather-Marquez and got 375,000 buys for that event. This Charlo PPV number is a huge failure for boxing.
Lol at his podcasts description : "Chris Mannix will bring fans closer to the sport".
I really can't stand him. And I agree with sicko. I'd love to see Mora break his jaw.
The questions he asked were all topical but were all intentionally used to discredit Jermall's credibility. He was calling Jermall a ducker the entire time without saying the exact words. Of course Jermall was gonna get mad.
He is a ducker. He ducked Mannix's questions like he ducked Canelo and Andrade.
Boxing was getting over 2 million viewers on HBO back then. You can't even get that many on free tv nowadays. PPV has significantly reduced boxing's fanbase and things will continue to get worse the higher the barriers of entry are for consuming premium boxing.
Coppinger had an early estimate for Spence-Porter within 3 days. The excuse for why he waited so long for the Wilder-Ortiz 2 numbers was that there was a delay due to Thanksgiving. There is no holiday going on this week so we should get early estimates within a day or two unless they're really bad. We didn't get any numbers for Crawford-Khan until people had stopped caring and moved on to something else.
For comparison Crawford vs Khan got 200k searches and was #3 overall on Google Trends on the day of that fight. The Charlo PPV wasn't even in the top 20 for yesterday.
Half those guys were B-sides who wouldn't have otherwise headlined a pay per view. Spence doing 300k buys hardly makes him a star. The Charlos don't belong on PPV and will probably be back on regular TV after this event flops.
I think their plan was to make them all be PPV stars by getting their names out on network TV. All these guys headlined shows on Fox, NBC, CBS, ESPN, Sp!ke, Bounce TV and Showtime from 2015 thru 2019. As the year comes to a close that will have happened.
I'm not sure what role PPV played in their initial vision but their plan was always to become something like the UFC and that plan has failed to materialized.
Promoters are no longer required to disclose fighter purses in Nevada after the UFC bribed state politicians. All we have to go by is whatever gets leaked to reporters, which might not be accurate.
He lost a some points for fighting Pulev who is a bum. What's odd is that Fury didn't lose as much points when he fought Wallin and Schwartz and those were bigger mismatches.
They're just being propped up by PBC and Showtime. They have virtually no stable and no tv deals. They're at the mercy of Haymon wanting to include them on PBC's cards and his tv dates.
Terrible idea. Maybe he could have made a few bucks in his prime popularity days but the guy waits for after being demoted to ESPN to put out a currency that only buys his merchandise?
Guaranteed loss of money.
You'd be surprised how many stupid people are out there that buy these stupid shítcoins. This scam coin will be trading on YoBit right alongside Thug Life Coin, Trumpcoin, and PonziCoin. People will invest in this ICO cause they know there's enough fools to dump this on.
