Canelo returns to Showtime for Yildirim fight

No way Canelo fights on Showtime. What would be the point of the DAZN deal? I can see if it were one of the Charlos, Benavidez, Plant, etc. But he's going to go to Showtime vs Anvi JUST because it's the WBC belt? Chances are Canelo will revisit the WBC at another time or the WBC mandate someone else that would work within the "DAZN bubble". If Canelo is being forced to take a paycut fighting on DAZN, what do people expect to happen (mind you....having a binding contract to DAZN) if he agreed to fight on Showtime against someone most fans barely know?

Oscar sued Haymon, unsuccessfully, for poaching his fighters as he prepared to create PBC and used Shaefer to take advantage of him with his substance abuse issues. The bigger thing would be DAZN though. They may have some things to work out but I’m sure they won’t let him just fight on another network. They will tie him up in court if Canelo and Oscar try that route. Maybe once his deal is done or if they agree to a buyout to part ways but I don’t think they are there yet. It seems Hearn is on his way out of DAZN so I think of there is an opportunity to bring in someone new to reset the communication. oscar didnt sue the pbc for poaching his fighters...thats why he had litigation with schaeffer...because schaeffer was allowing guys to fight for golden boy without contracts.....he knew there was no way he could go after haymon for the exodus of fighters since they werent under contract...he went after the pbc for attempting to monopolize boxing in the US and for violating the ali act to be honest...if oscar had left well enough alone(golden boy was thriving) he very well might still be promoting haymons fighters under that banner much in the same manner that floyd used golden boy to get off the ground.....but oscar came in and thought "omg what is this...this isnt how boxing is supposed to work"....oscar has too much old school in him and thinking that iron clad, multi fight/year, deals are the only way things can work....and he had a fit when he realized he had guys fighting under his banner that werent signed.... everyone will have their own view of things...some will say what schaeffer did was dirty and he was planning on bolting ...others think golden boy was thriving under the schaeffer/haymon relationship(it was) and that schaeffer was doing what he could go keep that relationship in tact yeah i do agree that i wouldnt expect DAZN to just let canelo go ...or go fight somewhere else....but what kind of shape is DAZN in is the big question....will they survive? i still think given the opportunity haymon and oscar would work together.....there was a time nobody thought osacr and bob would do business...or floyd and bob...youd be suprised what can happen when theres opportunity for both sides.....fences get mended rather quickly when both sides see it as beneficial...

Showtime would stand to lose way more money on this fight than they did on Wilder v. Breazeale.

I don't think Showtime/PBC can afford Canelo's asking price bro. Why would you want Showtime to not being able to fund more fights by spending all their money on this one fight? all they need to do is beat $17.5m which is what dazn is offering canelo right now. and for an opportunity to work with canelo and secure him long term, they’ll do it.
