I have a hard time seeing it doing a good number.
Wasn’t trending at any point on social media.
Not even mentioned on ESPN’s home page (not surprising with ESPN’s deal with UFC)
Was up against a UFC fight that had some mainstream buzz with the pre fight **** talk.)
Purely anecdotal but I was at a friends house who purchased the UFC event. Had three TV’s. One for the fights, one for Lakers/Nuggets, one for the NHL finals.
No talk of boxing. Ended up finding the first Charlo fight on my phone and watched the second when I got home.
Where do you all think the buys come in at? What number would make it a successful event?
While is why the attempts at building this huge hype train the week before the fight on here were hilarious.
Like, who are you fooling as Charlo fans with thread titles like:
Man this was worth my money
What a great card this is!
Glad I spent near 80 bucks
Takes like that reek of insecurity and the need to get validation they didn't throw away their money.
The card was good and I didn't mind one bit paying what I did. However, it was never going to do good PPV numbers. Those that thought it would are kidding themselves. Charlo's are not close to being box office. Stacking the card is for the hardcore fans, the casuals don't care much for it and Arum has mentioned this numerous of times. Haymon definitely had to go in his own pockets to pay some of the purses as no way the PPV covers it all. But hard to put these fights on network TV when you have at least three fighters making over 2M and another in Rosario that was likely close to that mark.
Davis/LSC doesn't have a great UC like the card over the weekend but it will do much better numbers. Davis IS a star unlike the Charlos.
Crawford’s was $49.99 SD, $59.99 HD if I recall
And price has a lot to do with it.
Doesn't matter that inflation is a thing, if fans are used to paying around 60, and have only historically paid north of 70 with few and recent exceptions, asking us to drop almost 80 for a non mega fight is crazy lol.
If the PPV was 30-50 I would have bought it without hesitation but once you pass 60, I'm definitely going to think about what I'm paying for. Sadly, many people don't realize you can profit by selling something for less, lowering the barrier and resistance much of the public has for a higher price point. Nah, let's ask for as much as possible and hope the interest is there to where you can not only break even but profit. Lol.
300k is REALLY hard to do. Only Spence, Wilder, Canelo and Pacquiao are doing that range in non-mega fights. Charlo brothers are not close to the stars the fighters I just listed.

Wilder vs fury 2 did 800k ppv buys. Thats damn near pacquiao last 2 ppv combined.
That equals a draw my friend. And don't say fury sold it alone because he couldn't get a crowd to buy tickets in his 2 fights in 2019 before the wilder rematch
You dont know the black fight fan to well. If Charlo vs canelo, ggg, benividez ever happens, we will be tuning in on ppv happily.
Same for tank if he ever man up and fight loma, haney, ryan, russsell jr. We will buy
Well the charlo Vs Chris eubank jr, andrade, BJS and especially ggg or canelo are all ppv worthy.
However Wilders 800k ppv buys Vs fury were a big loss for both fox and ESPN..
The reason it did so many is because it was a joint ventureand they spent $20m just to market the fight.
Also yes Tyson was the bigger draw esp after his wrestling appearance.
Probably this.
300k plus would be a huge success imo.

in a world where Crawford vs amir khan did 150k ppv buys....pre-covid.
in a world where one of the biggest and growing american draws, wilder, wasnt really a draw but was supposed to become a draw, then got ruined...
i cant imagine many black boxing casuals tuning in for anyone uncless its spence/porter vs crawford or wilder vs aj anymore.
so if it does over 100k ppv buys, ill be shocked.

Lol I like the Charlos as fighters, as I've said 100 times. But anyone thinking this PPV is going to sell well, well they are really biased and maybe not very smart.
Why are you following me around like you're my bit.ch or something. If you're gonna be my bit.ch you've got some other bit.ch duties I'm going to have you do for me sweety ;)
So what's the basis for you anti Charlo agenda? Racism? Anti PBC? Pro ggg? What?
No one with an anti Charlo agenda (like you) would believe it.

If the numbers are in the 200s I just won't believe it. Who knows what the real numbers for any fight actually are
