People complain about fights being on PPV. HBO put out 10 PPVs in 2006 (and I'm pretty sure Showtime had some as well. And fights not sponsored by HBO or SHO were also on PPV.)
Boxing was getting over 2 million viewers on HBO back then. You can't even get that many on free tv nowadays. PPV has significantly reduced boxing's fanbase and things will continue to get worse the higher the barriers of entry are for consuming premium boxing.
WWE and UFC do an event each month.
Boxing is also available on basic TV and cable/premium now. More than it was just 5 years ago.
So, they have a few (between 3 and 5 events the past few years) I don't get what all the fuss is about.

Ignore the trolls and fake boxing fans who are actually MMA fans on here!
Real boxing fans will be watching the Charlo’s card as it’s the most stacked boxing card this year and will gladly pay to support the sport we watch!
But I admit I don’t like how the boxing media can be so toxic to the sport they’re covering, some of them are actually telling people to watch the UFC fight instead despite it being a usual UFC top heavy card while the Charlo card is absolutely stacked!
