How can he put on pure muscle over night you idiot.
Do you know how weight cutting works? Ortiz weighs 164 with a lot of muscle and Floyd weighed 150 with 14 pounds less muscle. Then they both lose water to get to 147, but both rehydrate to their natural weights. It's not like Victor Ortiz is carrying a few gallon jugs of water in his stomach.
Not quite James Toney or Mayweather with that sloppy shoulder roll. Takes years to train those reflexes. Good opponent to try it against seeing as Gomez can't bust a grape.
Ortiz picked Cortez. I heard it on the radio, I think it may have been Keiran Mulvaney who said it.
I guess the thinking that Cortez was so criticized for being pro-Floyd in the Hatton fight that he would overcompensate towards Ortiz. Didn't seem to work out so well!
Ortiz has a 14 pound advantage in pure muscle (164 to Mayweather's 150). Let's see if he can use it, because it seems to a big advantage with his huge frame.
If this line is anywhere close to even I'm throwing a lot of money down on Ward. He is what Dirrell aspires to become -- just a better version in every way with slightly less physical gifts. Ward is smart enough to play to his strengths, however, and Dirrell is going to be taken to school.
i have no problem with someone saying that i just want explanation
Ward has the edge in (IMO): defense, balance, intelligence, versatility, workrate, composure
Dirrell: power, speed
If Ward gets outboxed for a while (doubtful, but possible) he'll just press the fight inside and Dirrell is not going to have an answer.
Explain please.
Ward is just much more polished and composed. He would've beat Froch 10-2, Dirrell nicked him 7-5 on my card.
Ward knows how to fight on the inside and is great at any distance. He has much better balance than Dirrell, who makes a boxing ring look like an ice rink at times. Ward wouldn't give away rounds like Dirrell did against Froch, who obviously lacked confidence in his ability to fight toe-to-toe into late in that late. I also think Ward is a better switch-hitter than Dirrell, though both are supremely gifted in that regard.
Dirrell has the edge in power and a slight edge in speed. That won't be enough to keep Ward from roughing him up and outworking him.
1. You can win a title on DQ. This is not the WWE where boxers can smash the other guy with a chair to retain their belts.
2. A stoppage from a knee injury would have resulted in a TKO for Cotto, not a TD.
Clottey dont take alot of clean punches. I dont think shane would hurt him but i do think clottey could hurt shane. Toss up for me
This is crazy. Shane is iron-chinned and Clottey has 1 stoppage win over his last 11 fights. Neither guy would hurt the other, but Shane would most definitely be the one scoring a KD if there were one.
It was a possibility for a KO, but a probability? You guys are nuts. Dirrell is smart enough to run if he needs to and slick enough to avoid most of the big shots. He also threw some nice straight left counters as Abraham was coming in. 95% chance he survives, it's not like he was on queer street.
