roy jones was the best boxing commentator i remember him owning larry merchant in the 1st morales vs pacquiao fight saying something like if you never boxed then you don't know nothing about boxing that is so true when it comes to larry merchant
He's a great guy, if anyone deserves to be the heavyweight champion of the world, it's him.
Because of his talent?
Because of his talent and his love for mankind.
:lol1:
:lol1:. Norris is never gonna live the Santana debacle down.
He showed some real versatility in getting DQ'd. I mean Golota only got DQ'd for low blows, but Norris mixed it up. First he gets DQ'd for hitting Walker when he was down. Then he gets DQ'd for punching Santana behind the head. Then he get DQ'd for hitting both after the bell, and when the ref is between the two of them.
If all fighters were like Montell Griffin and Kermit Cintron to put on Emmy-worthy performances, Norris would have so many DQ losses. He runs across the ring as Leonard is falling so he can hit Ray when he's down. He hits Curry when he's down. He hits Waters behind the head when he's down.
I don't know what was a bigger mismatch, Mayweather versus Gatti or Norris versus the rules of boxing.
he was better then the other ass kissers
merchant "this is..a...shock in the boxing world..."
foreman: "i think it's a shock in your world larry"
:lol1:
That came after Sanders KO'd Wladimir. Whether George thinks so or not, it really did shock the boxing world. George didn't seem to think that much of Sanders' chances before the fight.

Or if you hit the canvas. Or showed the back of your head. Or the bell rang to end the round.
An 8 count meant as much to Terry Norris as a condom does to Evander Holyfield.

Sad to hear that about Norris - back in 93/94, he looked damn near untouchable. Except when you touched his chin :lol1:

Yeah after seeing that fight, Norris would have gotten knocked out in embarrassing fashion by Trinidad. I also remember Norris looking bad against Rupa. Some people say the years of hard sparring contributed to Norris early slide. I've been told that even he and his older brother Orlin used to go at it hard in sparring. I don't know if that's true but I've heard that from more than one person. The last time I saw Mullings was against David Reid.
Yeah, I remember that fight. Reid was clearly the superior talent but struggled. Sad to hear that about Norris - back in 93/94, he looked damn near untouchable. Except when you touched his chin :lol1:
He did-Mullings did him a favor. Norris was shot in that fight. Just watch it again. I couldn't even believe what the announcers were saying. Actually, he looked pretty bad against Nick Rupa before that. Mullings caught him at the right time...and wasn't too bad a fighter himself.

Norris went downhill fast after that fight. I believe he had a fight set with Trinidad if he had beaten Mullings.

Keith Mullings. Good guy - the sport needs more like him.
