Come on now. Of course any fighter can look good against AA for the first 7 or 8 rounds. AA walks in on fighters and lets them throw and doesn't punch. Dirrell was ready to go in the late rounds, and was on his way to getting KO'ed.
Andre Dirrell was the laughing stock of the 168 division, he has no balance, he has MAJOR defensive flaws like pulling back lazily with his hands down.
Dirrell won't win one round. Andre Ward will rule the 168 for the next few years. The only people I see him competitive with is Sergio Martinez and Danny Jacobs (if Jacobs steps up in competition). Other than that, everybody is getting spanked.
P.S. No Ceilings I hope your boy Paul Williams doesn't even THINK of moving up past 160. That fight wouldn't even be fair.
No. A lot of idiots arep icking Dirrell. 2 goods fights against 2 of the most straightforward fighters in the tournament is not basis for beating the #1 168 fighter.
The Froch fight was not a good fight.
I don't like Dirrell or Wards style much, but I can see Dirrell hitting and running more than I see Ward dominating Dirrell.
Bute might have something to say about whos the best 168lber.
Dirrell is faster than Ward and Dirrells in and out style will work well in this fight, if Dirrell can get off quicker and early in the fight then Ward will have to chase him like AA had to and that will make it tough for Ward to win rounds because Dirrells reflexes are on point and hes made 2 fighters in a row look foolish whilst missing shots. Dirrell won't get abused on the ropes like Green did.
I'm probably one of the few whos giving Dirrell a strong chance.

IMO Dirrell beats Ward with speed, movement, jabs and accuracy.
Dirrell loses to Ward if he clinches, flops, and trades
Ward would win with effective ring cutting, charging, smothering and butts. lol
Ward would lose if he follows dirrell, charges in head down, does not establish the jab early on.
I truly do not like the way WARD fights...but...this is how I view his win.

first of all I want to say Sergio is hot,
okey but Sergio moving up in weight again is shiet...he might be even too old than
danny who? jacobs gonne win Sergio's WBO belt soon but does he really deserve the shot at the title, hes still to green and against Dre... I dont think so
:drive:
Nobody's dominating anyone, it's going to come down to later rounds. Dirrell will be fine, I question the later rounds because he damn near punched himself out against AA. Then was getting tired against Froch but was about to stick it out.
This is not a walk thru for Ward, anybody that thinks that is crazy.
You guys are straight DELUSIONAL. Andre Dirrell looked good against ARTHUR ABRAHAM, a ****ING PUNCHING BAG who moves straight in the whole fight and does a ropeadope without the rope, and suddenly Andre Dirrell, a guy who was a complete joke in his pro career until that ngiht against AA, is going to beat a guy arguably top 5 P4P (IMO)? Andre Dirrell isn't confident in his offense, Andre Ward is.
No one could beat AA until Dirrell met him and you're downplaying that. Dirrell is going to shock the shit out of you.
But then again, you always make ignorant assessments.
I like AA a lot, but he is what he is. I just think that if you take away Arthur's equalizer (big power out of both hands), most would consider him tailor-made for a guy of Dirrell's style and attributes and wouldn't give him a chance.
Being that he didn't win the fight conclusively, that he appeared to want out by the time the fight did end on the DQ and that there are question-marks over the legitimacy of his reaction to the foul (which was a clear foul, no doubt), it's still questionable how well Dirrell dealt with the adversity IMO.
EXACTLY. These people are basing Dirrell's greatness off one night against basically an undersized heavybag...come on now.

Dirrell will be the fastest fighter he's been in with, but assuming that doesn't freeze Ward, I think he'll win convincingly. He seems mentally tougher. You also can't ignore that Dirrell was knocked cold in his last fight. No matter whose fault it was, you can't pretend it didn't happen.
The whole fight revolves around if Ward can catch Dirrell when he is in a bad position. If Ward can make Dirrell pay consistently for his mistakes Ward can do well, if Dirrell fights properly and limits mistakes he should be able to out range Ward and force Ward into making mistakes.
It should be interesting though, if Ward can get by Dirrell the Super Six is his to lose that is certain.
Dirrell will throughly outbox Ward.
yup I agree I think Dirrell's hand speed and foot speed will give Ward a lot of problems. I think Dirrell will surpirse everyone and dominate Ward.
The attributes and styles favored Dirrell so heavily against AA, he couldn't help but look good for the most of the fight.
How did he look by the Chamionship rounds? Not so great.
I got your point, but I really think that's very important the way you react to adversity and he just did well. C'mon AA is not a robotic fighter who was there to get beat up, he has a tight defense, yes, he's slow but Dirrell made him look worse. He got frustrated and punched Dirrell while he was down.
I think Dirrell won't engage in in fighting.
Green could've stop Ward on the inside the whole fight.
Just clinch and the ref will seperate.
Dirrell will box with Ward keep him at a distance.
Andre is taller and has a reach advantage.
Hes also faster.
Ward has a slight experience advantage.
And I can't see Ward hurting Dirrell unless AA ruined his chin.
Dirrell can win this.
exactly what i thought as well big up
I think Dirrell could if he was smart enough choose to fight the entire fight on the outside.
He could make the fight quite easy I think, he just so fast he could do what RJJ did against Toney and just use his superior foot and hand speed to stay out of harms way while picking up points but I'm not sure Dirrell has the mental strength to go along with his natural gifts and follow the game plan.
Ward will probably win it, but Dirrell's speed will cause big problems as it's the first time Ward will have fought a guy faster than him on all accounts. Ward's boxing IQ will be his saving grace.
