Dereck Chisora lit the touchpaper ahead of his WBC heavyweight title challenge by slapping champion Vitali Klitschko at Friday's weigh-in in Munich. The eccentric Londoner is a rank outsider ahead of the weekend's bout and attempted to get under the long-reigning champion's skin.

Vitali fought a beautiful fight, and chisora earned alot of new fans after tonight. Hes landed some good body punchesThis guy got it right lol. Green K.
at the end of the day, it is what it is. a lot of the hate on here is caused by the hardcore klitschko fans. it's hard to discredit or disrespect what the k bro's are actually doing though.
I have no problem with the Klits, not really the styles i enjoy watching but i respect them getting the business done and turning up focused for every fight, its their deluded nuthuggers on here that irritate, its the only reason i hate on them, simply to wind up their stupid fans, which is sadly the majority of them
Im glad people are talking about the Heavyweight division again though, whether its for the right reasons or not
Last night is the reason why the Klitschkos will be quickly forgotten. Vitali gets slapped in the face and watches his brother get spat at in the face. Yet still fights with his ultra cautious and timid style.
Watching a guy who is made out to be an ATG on this thread getting backed up and gasping for air by a 15-2 rookie was embarrassing. I can't even imagine how his fans must have felt.
I hate how people think Vitali is some kind of badass because he lost but did better than expected against a fat and over the hill Lennox Lewis (getting his face shredded in the process).
c'mon man give credit where credit is due.
last night's win solidified his status as a top 50 heavyweight of all time.
i personally place him at 47.

Lets be fair here,it wasnt a terrible performance from VK like some people are making out,it cant be easy being 40 years old and fighting somebody with a pulse

Five months ago he fought Adamek and his fan were glorifying his solid victory and how unstoppable he was. The day of the weight in they were talking about how good he looks at 40. After the slap they were talking about how he was going to murder Del. But now they include 40 years old in every comment. I have never understand how fans make excuses for their favorite fighters.
if Vitali hits like a girl how come Chisora didn't beat him up?
I thought that was his thing beating up girls?
cause it didn't feel right beating up a girl who has 1 hand tied behind her back.
Does anyone know what Chisora said to Vitali after the fight?

I agree with this and the post about enjoying a rare good fight a Klitschko was involved in. So much better than I could have expected.

Instead of all the arguing and *****ing over Klitschko's performance we should just be glad to have seen a decent heavyweight title fight. Chisora came to fight and put in a brave performance. Klitschko did look bad by his standards but I wouldn't jump to conclusions and say he is shot. When was the last time we saw a fighter go in with that sort of attitude against one of the Klitschko's? I was glad to see Vitali challenged for once. It says alot about the Klitschko's dominance when a 116-112 win is considered to be a sign that he is on the decline. People were saying he was shot when he shut out Kevin Johnson.
Thank you for this post!

Never thought Id see the day of Vitali running scared from a guy with a 15-2 record.
Vit strikes me as a guy who wont know when to quit until its too late. Hes eventually going to get beat by an inferior opponent in his next 3 fights.
I'd like to see that too, I think he'd lose though because Wlad's jab has a lot more on it than Vitali's, I could see a Wlad/Brewster II-like fight playing out but who knows...
Men the size of Vitali aren't as agile and he moves in an especially akward way.
And if you didn't notice, he moved A LOT in this fight, especially for a 40 year old, 6'8 fighter. Chisora's style was basically move his head, cover his face and march forward, Vitali probably should have clinched more early on to save some of his energy for when Chisora slowed down. Chisora showed a great chin but the way he started to get hit in the middle of the fight if VK had been fresh he could have gotten a stoppage. Chisora is still garbage both as a fighter and a person but I'm sure he will get more big fights just based on the toughness he showed against Vitali. I don't think Vitali looked the way he did because he's old, just fought a tough pressure fighter and by the time he started to land some good shots he didn't have the power left to hurt him.
Dunno WTF is wrong with some people on here. If it aint his age its some other ****. Vitali hadnt lost a round since coming back, yet he lost a few to a guy most people thought was going to get smashed to bits within a few rounds. A fight like this really does sort the wheat from the chaff as far as boxing fans are concerned.
Look, Vitali is a f.u.c.k.ing awesome specimen as a fighter, but every dog has his day. Douglas had his against a complacent Tyson,Chisora had his against an aging, but still great Vitali...And I also remember some cat giving a greying Lennox Lewis the fright of his life before getting stopped on a horrific cut.
**** on Chisora for being a mentalist all you want, but at least he went in there with no fear and made Vitali look garbage for the first time since coming back. Lets not forget that big V has been quite busy, and if Del boy is as **** as a lot of people here are saying, how come he could do what so many others havent even got close to managing?
He wasn't the only one hyping up Chisora, you included.
Who's trying to defend Vitali's crap performance? Yes, it was relatively bad for his standards. Even though he won the fight and dominated the scorecards (even the most anti-Klitschko scorecard is not even close).
I pretty much called it as it happened. I knew Vitali would win but Dereck's style would cause him problems. Vitali won on points, he didnt dominate shiit.
