I don't think his persona is "fake" per say, but I think it is greatly exaggerated. I do believe he is a genuinely nice guy (except to his wife), but because Philippines is so heavily Christian I think they play up his faith and things like that to make him more appealing over there.
Also this idea of him starving on the streets teaching himself to box is complete horsesh*t...he was provided room and board by the National Philippines Amateur Team and had 40-50 some bouts as an amateur. Again I think they play up many aspects of him to make him more appealing.
WTF! He has no amateur boxing background, unless you consider the streetfighting type he has done just to buy food for the day.

Pac is in a dillema.. Just after he arrived in the US for his JMM training, Pac is said to have acted as godfather to a child which is rumored to be actually his son. Jinky was so mad she wanted their marriage annuled(there is no divorce in the Philippines). This is a no-no if Pac wants to continue his political aspirations.

Manny has his own MP promotions and it is only active during his fight. He makes sure that he put the fighters under his own stable as his undercard. He said he is doing this to open more Filipino fighters to the world, and this is also business. Donaire can stand on his own. If you see a Filipino in the undercard, you are sure it is from MP promotions. Mayol fought in his latest.

Why the double standard? You were impressed by Floyd's win and not with Pac because Pac cannot KO the same guy Floyd cannot KO. Shane is not afraid to get it on with Floyd, but he keeps running from Pac, how can Pac KO him? If you are both a fan of both, maybe Floyd is your #1 and Pac is #1000.

No the Klits are TOO BIG, there is something wrong with asking a WW to move up to HW or SMW, but nothing wrong with asking that WW to move up to MW or JMW at 154 and make the fight.

Sergio Martinez is challenging the "champ" at 154lbs and said that he would not move up to 168lbs. Martinez has never fought at 168, much less fought for a vacant belt at that weight. So why is it hypocritical for him not to move up to 168? I never heard him ask Manny or Floyd to move up to 160, only that he would be willing to move down to 154 to fight them (Where they have both won "belts" at)
Also, no where in that statement does he say that he wouldn't fight challengers at 160. All he say is that he will not move up to 168lbs.

The thread title is the "hypocrisy" of Sergio by calling out fighters below his weight. You defended Sergio saying he has has the right. I am saying he is a hypocrite by calling out midgets below him but is not willing to challenge giants above, arguing that he is too small for them. Does he not realize that this is the same reason used by Pac's team not to fight Sergio?

He is going to add weight to JMM , its not a power play , they are pretty much the same size with Pac a little bigger , forcing the weight up means he is reducing speed in JMM, thats the reason why Roach is doing it , when JMM is near his best weight which is his fastest he gives Pac nightmares , so whats the best way to give Pac an advantage over JMM ,,,,,, slow him down just a little , how do you do that = add weight .

Then JMM does not have to gain weight. If he is comfortable at 135, he can stay at 135 and Pac will be 144. As mentioned many times over as quoted by Roach, Pac's body is more comfortable eating normally than hydrating-rehydrating.
Pac never said he is afraid of needles. Roach said Pac is a creature of habit and superstition and it's all in Pac's mind. Pac will avoid things that coincidentally happened when he is in a bad situation. It so happened that he was forced to give blood (again) just 2 days before his loss to Morales because his first blood specimen taken a month ago was lost. This was explained by Pac during TV interview in the Philippines after the same loss.

Why not 140 ?
Pac do not want to bother dieting. He set the limit he is comfortable at. JMM can either reject or agree with it. It is up to JMM if he wants to be lighter or max the limit. At any rate, their weight is close at fight night.
