I remember Skoglund was f#king him up in one of the rounds with his jab It was a steady performance from Smith, but I think he's moved up a level or two since then, he's not been amazingly busy but it seems like he's spent a lot of time in the gym between camps. It might seem funny to read at first and without a doubt he is a better boxer. But I remember watching most of Price's early fights before he lost, obviously at a lower level than Joshua, but I don't recall any stamina issues then caused by nervous energy. Joshua when hurt, seems to react the same way. One shot vs Dillian in round 2 and he didn't really recover until Round 4, off 1 decent shot, despite completely dominating the first round. Vs Wlad, shot his load in round 5 after knocking down Wlad, almost got stopped and had no energy at all until about round 9, and that's with Wlad not putting too much pressure on him and just plodding away at him cautiously. Against Ruiz, again it kicked in after the first knockdown. Forget this concussed nonsense, it's happened to him before. Like Pricey, when he gets hurt, or too excited, he loses composure and burns through energy rapidly leaving himself very vulnerable, and I feel if he loses again, he will completely doubt himself for the rest of his career and start losing to/having 50-50's with guys he is far better than down the line. I really believe that Joshua's entire career is on the line in the Ruiz rematch. If he loses again, he will never be a world champion again. I am certain of that. Some good points here and yeah I can see this happening...he is obviously a lot better and seems to have a bit more resolve and a better chin but relatively speaking he could end up on a similar path to Price. He could also go back to the drawing board and make a recovery like Wlad, but I'm not sure he has the same qualities to achieve that, he doesn't have that level of amateur foundation to fall back on. He has an extremely uphill task, aura of invincibility is gone, fighters will take more risks against him to get to his chin... My gut tells me that he will have more failures than success from here on out I'm not one to believe in miracles but I really feel his best hope is to get Wlad in his team and get that attention to detail in his camp. Wlad is one of the few guys out there who can give him the wisdom of Manny Steward and teach him to fight tall and safe.

He's got to fight with the mentality Barrera had against Hamed, when you hurt the guy don't follow in and go for the kill. I think Josh has earned enough respect with his power that Ruiz knows he can't just walk through him so Joshua needs to use the jab and run his punches up the middle, the knock out will come but you've got to soften a guy like Ruiz up first. The big complication for Joshua is that: A: He has to compartmentalize the loss mentally B. He still has to sit down on his shots a little C. He was a sub-par belt holder who would have likely lost that belt for 6 figures against Callum Smith or someone else, and instead he made 7 figures, and again has secured his and his families future. I don't think Hearn always gets it right, he is a little over-eager with his match making, something he will need to refine and maybe with more experience he will get a better feel for. But you can't say he has done a bad job for most of these fighters. He also doesn't make the final call, the fighters do. Hamed was a MONSTER draw, considering the time his numbers took place. He really put the little guys on the map.

I know GRJ gets a lot of **** for not fighting anyone and rightfully so hes very inactive. But i was looking at possible matchups in the 126lb dvision and skiming through LSC resume his is even worse. GRJ best wins- Jhonny Gonzalez, Joseph Diaz, Kiko Martínez, Oscar Escandon LSC best wins- Mares, Frampton, Kiko Martinez GRJ KO's Jhonny after he was coming off that KO of Mares and JoJo> Frampton if they fight. Also the LSC disgraceful ducking of prime Rigo. Leo for me, some good/decent wins in the lower weight classes. Also he beat Frampton when he was one of the best 10-15 fighters in the world p4p, it was a great win in the rematch and the first fight was very close. Frampton's fallen off, and actually his lifestyle outside the ring and I think those two fights with Leo, Quigg, Garcia, and Donaire ruined him...the guy that fought Warrington was a shadow of the fighter from 15-17. GGG, Loma, and Bivol are on my top ten pfp best list and the winner of Beterbiev vs Gvozdyk probably will be. Usyk was on my list but he is unproven at heavyweight. You dont understand p4p...it doesn't just reset and you come out of the top10 when you move up in weight. It also factors in what you have accomplished to date. Usyk is not moving up because he can't make CW anymore, it's because hes beaten everyone there is to beat and is looking for new challenges in a higher weight....that is THE definition of pound for pound. The whole reason it was derived was because Sugar Ray Robinson was by far the best fighter in the world at any weight so they needed to define him as a non-heavyweight. But obviously as you put yourself in more of a disadvantage size wise, fights are going to get more competitive, even to inferior fighters, ie his loss to Lamotta. Loma and Crawford are the outstanding fighters today, because they've had to move up to find challenges also. Will they need to keep picking up wins to retain their status? Yes...but that doesn't mean you dismiss what they've done in lower weight classes. Or the quality of their wins, particularly Loma. It is largely opinion based and subjective, but common sense still applies, you dont just dismiss people's accomplishments, you also dont flip people in and out like skittles. I think you need to adjust your understanding of it. I think most people take a medium term view.

He unlocked something in the middle of the 6th, but it was at worst 7-5 either way, if you're going to lean in a direction, it would be Maidana. Floyd was getting out-jabbed in spots, it wasnt just a mauling, Maidana's attack was varied, he was hitting harder, at times dirty, and relentless. I always thought the first Castillo fight was more controversial, a fight which I thought was a draw, but on second view this was equal to that. No doubt Floyd is a bad mofo, one of the best to do it...that doesn't make any of the above untrue...its not a undermining exercise...I really feel Floyd had the luck of the gods on the night, and I do think many times in his career, the preconception that he was the "master boxer" in the ring meant judges scored rounds with that perception in mind, this doesn't just apply to him, but it happens in general. I'll give you an example, seeing as you're a Floyd fan, watch his fight with Cotto, specifically rd3, a boxing round for the most part...a round where the general perception is that Floyd won...I actually think Cotto won it, his jab and body punching. On the flip side, there are rounds in the Jesus Chavez fight that were scored against Floyd because he was "outworked" but I actually thought he won by brawling. The fact that he didn't lose very many rounds throughout his career means that it didn't really matter...but Maidana was unlucky this night.

Been saying this. I've watched the Castillo right a couple times since it aired, and don't see how anyone can have a problem with Floyd getting the W. Those rounds were close. I score it for Floyd when I watch it. Maidana I, however... man. I scored that fight giving the rounds I viewed as close in my eyes to Floyd and I still had it for Maidana. Maidana won that fight. Everyone's got an opinion, though. I never realised what an imprint Maidana put on the first half of the fight, you have to be looking to give Floyd rounds to score any of those first 6 for him. Too much laying on the ropes, and he was out landed, plain and simple. 4 and 6 you can make a case for Floyd, 6 is a swing round, but he got beat up for most of that first half. If your talking about, heart and determination, a winning mentality, things he doesn't normally have to show so much of, then it was a really impressive performance from Floyd, he dug himself out of a hole...I'm just not at all convinced he did enough to win. Despite some of the stupid comments here, I have no agenda...I'm looking at the fight objectively. My pre-fight prediction was that Floyd would win easy, and send Maidana to the hospital for facial damage. He proved many people wrong and for me deserved a draw at least.

As a Floyd fan it is easy for me to just say " I seen Floyd whoop that ass and here's why" BUT really all I'm doing is talking about my own biases. That fight can go which ever depending on what you're looking for. Then the rematch happened and Floyd made his case clearly. The first fight can be scored for one or the other based of things like posture. The second fight can't, to me the second affirms the first. I seen Floyd whoops that ass, Chino fans made a good argument to me about how Chino whooped that ass, then I definitely seen Floyd whoop that ass and knew them chino fans was wrong the whole time. It wasn't until the rematch that I was sure I believe Floyd won the first one. I kept that door open until Floyd made his case. They were 2 separate events, 2 separate fights. It's like saying the brawl in Montreal was close but you thought Ray Leonard won it, and the rematch he dominated confirmed what you thought happened in the first fight, even though Duran deservedly won it...it doesn't make sense. Floyd won the rematch because he applied what he learned in the first fight in the rematch. From Maidana's side, just because your successful once, it doesn't guarantee you'll be successful again. The logical thing to do is judge both fights on their own merit...simple.

Not in the least. It was a draw plain and simple. If you score the fight right, it's just a draw that you get, not a hard fight to score. You might be right, but I feel Floyd got the benefit of the doubt in some swing rounds, but of course if people felt he edged 6 rounds then that is enough and I've got no problem with that. Nothing says you have to win a round by a mile, I think this gets missed by a lot of people.

He has Haney...and Smith...and a 30+ year old Andrade.....he's not a major player without aj on top Andrade is from my home state so no one wants him to succeed more than me...he's 30+ without a big or signsture win and sulecki won't be it.....Smith doesn't have any major fights ahead unless canelo fights him Haney is a star in the making but that's gonna take time I don't really know what to say to someone who is armed with that little knowledge if you think that's their stable. The success with Joshua has opened doors, marquee fighters like that dont come along all that often, Joshua is a big fighter for them, but if you think they go under without Joshua, it's extremely wishful thinking. I'm sure Hearn will do with Andrade like he does with the majority of his fighters, make them more money and more popular than they were before. Andrade has been a bit unfortunate with things that neither him or Eddie could have seen coming. I'm just telling you that talent is talent, I know it when I see it, fighters, commentators, whatever. Eddie Hearn is a very talented promoter...I think he is sometimes over-eager with his matchmaking, an area where Top Rank and Frank Warren are still a bit more savy than Matchroom, but I'm sure that will come with experience. I reiterate my original post, you'll be happier if you stop fighting the fact that he's going to in and around the top of boxing for a long time.

We knew Wilders flaws. His power has always been his eqaulizer. Joshua we knew his chin was shaky but if Ruiz could make him look this chinny Wilder might get that body in the ring if the Joshua fight ends up happening. This seems to be the popular opinion and I don't disagree that Wilder might get to him first, but you also have to ask yourself if Wilder would have taken some the shots Ruiz did, or got up from that uppercut left hook in rd 3, would he had his faculties like Ruiz did. I still think it's a really exciting fight, but it's lost it's shine, and Joshua has to get past Ruiz first.
