I agree with your post some what. I think pbf is a atg from what he has done at the lower weights and moving up and gaining the title at ww. Now this is not to say I am happy with the fights he has fought at ww after gaining the title. In fact, I think he should have fought cotto before he took time off. But for either of the two to be called the greatest of any generation they will have to fight each other. IMO they need each other. It's the fight everyone wants to see.
they are different.
Cotto's is stronger, since he is a converted southpaw and all. He has KD power in that jab.
Mayweather's is faster by miles... and thus opponents don't see it coming. Or if they do, they don't have enough time to block/evade it.
From a tactical standpoint, I would pick Mayweather's. From a brute force and power aspect, I would pick Cotto.
Great point, I see it the same way.
This is a very tough question and I think both are close in hand speed but if I were force to pick between the two I would have to say Pac has a slight edge. If the question is just pure hand speed I think Judah is a bit faster than both in my opinion.
if you're referring to this site than thats cuz of the euro posters on this site that drive ppl into hating any euro fighter. they overrate their fighters and underrate the american fighters and hate on them with a passion.
"Euro bum" is just hate created by the americans as a result of tones of disrespectful posts by euro posters.
btw the term "Yank bum" is far more used on this site than "Euro Bum".
I agree and I find it funny nobody was willing to reply to this statement.
The rest of the world plays football so we should of at least tried to create more clubs and a bigger fan base.I think that is why we paid Beckham to come over,so he can create some hype for the sport.
I can't speak for the rest of the US but where I from it is apart of the PE curriculum in grade school, it's been a while but I'm sure it still being used, but kids just don't gravitate to it like the other sports.
i have to agree with the part in bold nothing against Americans but they really do have a tendency not to embrace things outside of America
Football ,Music etc
Are you serious? America is a country that is made up of many different cultural influences that includes music but since we don’t except football we are close minded? The statement about music is just ridiculous and I don’t think Americans have to like football because the rest of the world does.
True it is not a patriotic song but maybe floyd, like most Americans (including me), never listen to the lyrics other than the hook and thought it was a patriotic song. Most people still think it is a patriotic song.
Usually I don’t get involved in these kind of threads because nothing good ever comes from them, but I just can’t let this one go. I think Margarito has every right to find as many big money fights as possible. I cannot hate a fighter who risks their health in the ring for trying to get paid. What I can’t stand are the fans that pointed their fingers and called other fighters cowards and claim it should never be about the money and that #1 should always fight #2 are the same fans that claim money is important and #1 does not have to fight #2. Having said all that, if margarito can get the Oscar fight that’s great, but if not he should fight PW.
yep, calzaghe lunges in like a retarded kid chasing ice cream and gets hit with hopkins head as hopkins ducked and came back up.
BTW I made this gif and it's been passed around like hepatitis B
now thats classic :lol1:
I don’t think cotto should try to fight on the inside at all. If he does I think it will be a short night for him. He is a much better boxer than given credit for and if he uses his boxing skills he should do well. I think in the Margarito fight it showed that if you stand in front of Paul he wins but in the Quintana fight it showed that if you move you have a really good chance. The question is; can he keep up with the work rate of Williams and can he get pass Paul’s reach advantage. If I had to pick a winner it would be Paul.
When I saw this in someone's sig, I was down right insulted as an Ali fan lol. Ali has never been ko'd, he beat up 2 of the biggest bullies around, and Viva thinks Tyson takes Ali out within 4 round!!!???............lol......

Tyson was good but frazier would not be afraid and Frazier was no walk in the park. I think a left hook would catch Tyson and it would be nite nite.
At first I thought it was a dirty head butt as well, but if you look closely you will see Joe attempt a left hook and b-hop ducking and joe coming in head first. With an unbiased eyes you can see it if you look closely but I’m not sure you find too many unbiased eyes around here.
yeah i really hate when presidential candiates are smart. we need another dumb dumb in there. how about the guy who graduated 894 out of 899 in his class in the friggin navy. go mccain! as for the tax breaks how misinformed you are. its really sad. obama's tax plan gives more money to 95% of the country than mccains. mccains tax plan is top heavy giving only the top 5% more money. oh well at least mccain would be a cool dude to drink a beer with am i right? perfect voting criteria.
I think you misread what I wrote I explained that Obama's plain gives TAX BREAKS to the people who make UNDER $250,000 which would mean the 95% of the people you're talking about.
So, McCain is pro boxing, and Obama is pro basketball...
go with mccain and you even save money on your taxes...any working man who puts in 40 + hours a week knows that he'll get fucked if hussein obama is elected...unless you're a govt welfare shithill, or a rich elitist asshat who doesn't care....
it's like churchhill said...
if aren't a liberal before age 25, you have no heart...
if you aren't a conservative by age 40, you have no brain...
I hate having to talk about political views on a boxing site but My God this is such silliness. I just couldn’t click the back button without replying. You talk about McCain saving people money from taxes when truth be told he voted against the tax breaks that he is now claiming to be important for Americans (since he started running for president). The truth is that Obama’s economic plan does raise taxes but only for the people who make over 250,000 and even then its not a big increase until you start making in the millions. His plan would give tax breaks to people who make under the 250,000 mark and not to mention under his plan seniors who make under $50,000 wouldn’t have to pay income tax. And you calling Barrack by is middle name (Hussein) doesn’t scare anyone or make them feel like he’s a terrorist. The name Hussein is respected around the world so you trying to portray it as anything different seems silly. And finally, the elitist thing is a bit old. The man worked hard to get to where he is without any handouts from anyone and deserves your respect. It is ok to disagree with his views but immature to act attack him as a person. If you know the definition of being an elitist you would know that Barrack has not asked for any special treatment from anyone. Now I’m sure you will reply with some childish remark but I just thought I would jump in on this conversation
i know i wasn't talking to you sorry about the mix up. i was referring to talking points mccain boy who doesn't know any of the issues. all he knows is code words like elitist, phony, and flip flopper.
its cool. The sad part about this is their are more people out there like him.
I love the way that, no matter what happens in a fight, Steward always says "this is what I thought was gonna happen" at least 17 times before the end of the night.
:lol1: I swear he said it so many times in the Cotto Margarito match lol.
I think Pavlik is already becoming a big star and I see berto because of his fighting style being very big in the coming years. I wouldn't be so quick to count cotto out.
As a Margarito fan i would rather see him fight Williams again. He needs to beat him again but more convincingly. He started too slow last time. THen i wanna see him tear DLH down. What do u think?
He didn't beat him the first time. To answer the question, I wouldn't mind seeing him fight Oscar but if he wants to be considered the best WW he has to fight PW.
AND how can you say that Pac beats Floyd at 140 if we've yet to see Manny even fight at 140??? He just had his first fight at 135..Take it EZ there buddy
yeah, what he said.
I agree he is a gym rat I don’t think that’s the only reason. I feel 140 is a better place for his size and I do agree he does have the skill to beat any WW, but most of the fighters at WW right now are really big. Margarito and PW are really big WW, and weight at or over 160 on the night of the fight.
Very true he did out class him but I think would have out classes him if he had come in at 180 lol. He also beat Oscar at 154 but he can only get away with it with certain fighters. I wouldn’t want to see May get in the ring with Vernon at 154.
I think it’s not necessarily where a fighter starts because as we all know fighters will drain themselves to stay at a certain weight. I think it’s how comfortable a fighter is at that weight and how hard or easy it was that make weight. The weight in at the night of the fight also speaks volumes of where the fighter should fight. For example, mayweather has never weight in over 150 on the night of a fight (to my knowledge) on the other hand the top 5 WW have all weight in at or over 155 on the night of the fight. In my opinion I don’t think May or Zab should be fighting at WW.
