True it is not a patriotic song but maybe floyd, like most Americans (including me), never listen to the lyrics other than the hook and thought it was a patriotic song. Most people still think it is a patriotic song.
I agree.
i dont listen to that kind of music and never heard anything really beyond the hook (from TV commercials and such) and i personally thought it was a patriotic song until it was pointed out here.
So it is very possible that floyd knew the hook of the song (many of us have heard it at some point in our lives) and thought it would be a good song to use and thought it was pro-america.
Im willing to bet thats how it worked out.
good observation to you and the thread starter.

its an anti-american song, listen to the lyrics properly, im jus wondering why he done it? he made a fool out of some americans who bopped thier head to it
Yup this is true. I guess people just hear the chorus "Born in the USA" and automatically assume its a patriotic song. Yet they dont listen to the verses which talks badly about America.
I love this country but what they did to those Vietnam vets was disgraceful.

Floyd "Make it rain on dem hoez" "Money" Mayweather doesnt speak on behalf of America.
Thanks.
if it is bruce springsteen born in the usa song you are on about? then yes it is anti american
This is one of the most misinterpreted songs ever. Most people thought it was a patriotic song about American pride, when it actually cast a shameful eye on how America treated its Vietnam veterans
NYAHAHAHA, Floyd is ashamed of himself

Anti- American............?
I've never heard the song before or since he came out to it but I could've sworn it was a Pro-American song, for obvious reasons...............
