Am i the only one that knows that McCain has been fighting to make boxing under one organization?
hes been preaching to have one league with one champion for each weight class. Also he wants to have every boxer to go through some medical requirement in every state.
With Bush out of office (don king's friend by the way).
ps. Hes also fought for putting little boxing gloves on gamecocks when they fight lol
Yeah, McCain is a big Boxing fan, he even fought while in the Navy. It would be good to have one World body governing this whole thing. Too much money in it the way it is, though.
i know i wasn't talking to you sorry about the mix up. i was referring to talking points mccain boy who doesn't know any of the issues. all he knows is code words like elitist, phony, and flip flopper.
its cool. The sad part about this is their are more people out there like him.
I think you misread what I wrote I explained that Obama's plain gives TAX BREAKS to the people who make UNDER $250,000 which would mean the 95% of the people you're talking about.

yeah i really hate when presidential candiates are smart. we need another dumb dumb in there. how about the guy who graduated 894 out of 899 in his class in the friggin navy. go mccain! as for the tax breaks how misinformed you are. its really sad. obama's tax plan gives more money to 95% of the country than mccains. mccains tax plan is top heavy giving only the top 5% more money. oh well at least mccain would be a cool dude to drink a beer with am i right? perfect voting criteria.

I hate having to talk about political views on a boxing site but My God this is such silliness. I just couldn’t click the back button without replying. You talk about McCain saving people money from taxes when truth be told he voted against the tax breaks that he is now claiming to be important for Americans (since he started running for president). The truth is that Obama’s economic plan does raise taxes but only for the people who make over 250,000 and even then its not a big increase until you start making in the millions. His plan would give tax breaks to people who make under the 250,000 mark and not to mention under his plan seniors who make under $50,000 wouldn’t have to pay income tax. And you calling Barrack by is middle name (Hussein) doesn’t scare anyone or make them feel like he’s a terrorist. The name Hussein is respected around the world so you trying to portray it as anything different seems silly. And finally, the elitist thing is a bit old. The man worked hard to get to where he is without any handouts from anyone and deserves your respect. It is ok to disagree with his views but immature to act attack him as a person. If you know the definition of being an elitist you would know that Barrack has not asked for any special treatment from anyone. Now I’m sure you will reply with some childish remark but I just thought I would jump in on this conversation

So, McCain is pro boxing, and Obama is pro basketball...
go with mccain and you even save money on your taxes...any working man who puts in 40 + hours a week knows that he'll get fucked if hussein obama is elected...unless you're a govt welfare shithill, or a rich elitist asshat who doesn't care....
it's like churchhill said...
if aren't a liberal before age 25, you have no heart...
if you aren't a conservative by age 40, you have no brain...

You were not the only one to know about this as you heard it from some other source. I think a union is due in boxing, then we'll have less Boxers go poor stories. These guys earn their paycheck.
there not going to have a globalized union. But does it matter since the best fighters come to the US to fight.
Im sure they have different regulation and rules in basketball in different countries.
LOL...so we're siding with the candidate who wants to form a Boxing Union? LOL...Jesus Christ...
Personally, I'm siding with the only HONEST candidate. Whatever else he may be, he's an honest and decent guy. I don't agree with all his politics, but I'll take a straight shooter over a schmoozer every time.
Maybe, but it's got to start somewhere. Besides, I don't want to see a single global organization. I'd rather see each country with their own national organization, own champions...that would make boxing more of a patriotic sport (imagine when two national champions compete, say England and US?) and should increase the international viewers dramatically.
Boxing can still be patriotic under a single global organization.
McCain isn't going to do anything for boxing if he is elected. I don't even mean that as a knock on him (Obama isn't going to help boxing either), it's just that whoever our next president is, he is going to have a full plate of problems that will take a much higher priority than boxing. Senators have time for this kind of stuff.
An "American Boxing Association" is not what is needed, bec ause Americans make up about 15-20% of top boxers. There needs to be a global organization to balance the power of TV networks
