So what fights never happened that you guys really would have liked to see happen??? Mine has to be Erik "El Terrible" Morales vs Juan Manuel Marquez that would have been a great fight. and Antonio Margarito vs Floyd Mayweather Jr but we know why that fight never happened... so anyways what are yours?
i just thought about the fact that if Salvador Sanchez hadnt suffered his tragic death that its quite possible that him and Julio Cesar Chavez would have fought. That would have been the biggest fight in mexico's history!!! Shame that Sal had to go...
Tito Trinidad vs Terry Norris
Roy Jones Jr. vs Dariousz Michalczewski
Kostya Tszyu vs Floyd Mayweather at 140
Ricky Hatton vs Junior Witter
James Toney vs Chris Eubank or Nigel Benn
i agree. if they did rematch, what would be your prediction? i got Vitali MD
No way a fight between those two goes past 8, maybe 9 max. I'd have to pick Klitchko by beatdown. Lewis was badly gassed at the end of the last round they fought. And he'd already thrown the hardest punches he was going to be able to throw in that fight without much effect (cuts aside, the worst of which wasn't even a clean punch but a glancing blow). I think Klitchko would probably get him hurt with a short left and have time to finish him sometime after 5 and before 7, maybe 8. He very badly hurt Lewis in the 2nd (I think...been awhile) in their first fight, but didn't have the time to finish. Lewis would've been 6 months (or more) older, and I just don't think he would've finished on his feet.
Now, having said all that, I also believe that if Lewis could catch Klitchko just right, he might be able to take the big guy out instead, but he'd have to do it early, while he's still fresh. His punches lose steam pretty quick and I don't think he'd have the power to take out Klitchko after about the 4th. His punches were having less and less effect the first fight. Still, I think it much more likely that Vitali would be the last man standing.
But, we'll never know. In my opinion, that would be the perfect fight to do on a computer simulation, full animation, so the boxing fans could have what we prayed for and never received.

Taylor/Spinks II? Christ, I'm still sleepy from the first one. And Spinks still has blisters on his feet.
Lewis/Klitchko II.
No reason for it not to have happened within 6 to 8 months of the first one. That fight left alot of questions unanswered. I understand why Lewis retired, really I do, and I don't blame him, but he took what...18 months to even decide to retire, rather than face a rematch with Vitali? That was really, really shitty. I can see why he waited (hoping someone else would beat him so he could take another, easier fight and get one last easy payday before retirement while still on top), but that doesn't make it less of an asshole thing to do.
There are some who refuse to acknowledge that Klitchko chased Lewis into retirement, but I don't think anyone who's completely honest. Lewis won the first fight fairly, but he knew that it wasn't likely to happen that way twice, and I don't think he'd have stepped into the ring again with Vitali for any reason.
