I just want to know exactly what year Boxingscene started the discussion about Pacquiao and Mayweather ... and the knowing the posters would be cool too. I think 2006. I only have proof of 2007. But still 2007 is a very long time ago. I think the rest of the world started talking about it in maybe 2009.

I think the Pactard-Flomo war that has raged on here for years is the defining element that permeated both camps and ultimately blew everyone's ego's to epic proportions culminating in the urge to show who is who in the ring once and for all. You're right. This fight had a lot of boxing fans verbally fighting for a very long time. And I honestly think that this is the best and only boxing website for me to go to. Marcos needs to win 4-5 rounds convincingly to make it interesting. I do see him bringing more heat than Mosley.

Max was off and I wish the champ Lennox Lewis would have tactfully put him in his place... Kellerman called one of the fighters an animal and Lewis said "Gladiator" would be a better word....points to Lewis Max was also showing his fanhood to JMM by saying he is the best... The best has to have talent, skills, heart, and excitement factor about him... Barerra, Morales, and Pacman has more of all that stuff... JMM has been knocked down by Barerra and Pacman a total of 5 times... And to say JMM should have won all three of those fights is pretty ignorant... You can't win fights by sheer counterpunching...why??? because it is harder to win rounds that way... When you are the over committed counterpuncher you jab less...meaning you initiate contact less...also, the counter puncher looks more like he is waiting than fighting....this is why JMM has been avoided...he doesn't bring much flavor to the fight...there isn't much draw like a Morales v Barerra or Pacman vs anyone...no fighter wants to play tag you're it with a counter puncher...they rather brawl or box I have to bring up the loss in Japan..that did not help JMM at all.

this is a BS thread....just think about it what sport is used as a platform in most Hollywood movies... paul is ok he throws alot of punches and thats cool but he is too flawed at 33 fights dude dont even throw straight right hands if he does he would do much better if u can win with the jab it's still a big fat "W" but the guy is right about the clinching... Hatton hardly gets warned about his clinching when he should have a point taken away or even disqualified! Williams clinches strategically...he dishes out and locks up (happens a lot when the other fighter is coming forward or misses his punches)......then he spins his opponent or lets go quickly...either way he throws combos right after the clinch...Hatton holds and holds and holds and holds and never lets go!!!!!!!! it is so irritating to watch

only person who knows shit about boxing that works for ESPN on a daily basis is Max Kellerman. Holy Smokes! Is that Jessica Biel in your signature? She's soo hot... Max Kellerman knows some things but sometimes he's not a straight shooter. Lennox Lewis can help save boxing with his commentating. He's getting better. He's gotta speak faster. But he's not on ESPN.

Everywhere has hot chicks :) Better fighters , hmmm thats a bit stacked seeing as London alone has more population than our entire country and boxing is not very big here as the media and AMA are trying to squash the sport ,, but in team sports and commonwealth games the Aussies seem to dominate them year after year :) which is big considering we are out numbered like 50 to one . im leaning towards the Aussie chicks since they get more sun... and the team sports games have more chicks than boxing matches...

hopkins moves to much and punches to hard.. hopkins is probably the hardest punching mover in the history of boxing along with roy jones but jones doesnt have the defense hopkins is better balanced.... is hard to mount and attack on a guy that does eveything ... I think the combination of B-Hop's craftiness and the pressure from fans and media to "Come to Fight" got to him because he didn't fight his fight. He needs to stick to how Winky wins and also try to develop some knockout power. I don't think there's anything wrong with Winky using his strong blocking and scoring with the jab but some more power would help. If I could beat you all day in Mortal Combat using Sub-Zero's freezing powers then I will. I will do it over and over until you figure it out. Hopkins figured out Winky or Winky tried something different and it didn't work. Or it was a mix of all those things.

I like Cotto but I think Mosely has what it takes to win this one. I think it will be a war but I think Mosely can pull out a UD. Cotto will try to get his nutpunchers in early like he did against Judah. But Mosley will be better prepared for it and take 5 minutes after getting nutpunched. Cotto will have a new face after the fight.

Here's the deal...both boxing and UFC will be around for a long time. But... Boxing will always be the big brother. UFC makes the most noise because they want to prove they are better. Dana White never misses an oppurtunity to bash boxing. Why? It's a complex. Yes boxers do talk trash about about UFC and vice versa. Right now UFC has nothing to worry about until their fighters begin complaining about you know what-money? Then scandals and politics will be involved just like in all other sports.
