your right he did take jones style .. and made it defensive instead of offensive.... he will always inflict more damage on his opponent then his opponent does on him .... even if he looses the fight ...and that to me makes the best fighter .. who does the most damage..id rather beat somebody up and loose then get beat up and win.. hopkins is a fighter that can box. fighting first, boxing second with bernard. it's what has made him " The Executioner ". back in the day, old school fighters, guys that hopkins studied and was inspired by fought how he fights. rough and tough, go out and get the win. no finesse, just fighting 101 combined with boxing skills. get tough or lose when you're in the ring with hopkins. or get lucky with the judges (JT).

He'll throw shovel punches right on top of people's nutsack and thighs, he'll get away with palm strikes in close, hell jump in and charlie horse people with a knee, step on people's feet intentionally and smile when doing it. I also don't want to read about how it was shameful. It's a god damn fight, and Wink could have easily retaliated with his own cheap shots to even out the damage. I'd like to point to how Nard hit Holmes with maybe one hundred low blows on the thighs and cup......and everyone did shake their head. That's that. He is who he is, and it's like crying and whining about something everyone knew could happen. It's only a matter of time before he turns the fight ugly if he feels the need to. Regardless........he's 42 years old and just beat a top p4p fighter. He defies conventional logic that he's too old to fight, day in and day out. He trained hard as hell for this fight, and I was dead wrong in that I picked Wright to win a clear cut decision...........but it was evident he belonged nowhere near 170 lbs and just didn't have the snap needed to get Hopkins respect from round 1 on.
