Someone had bumped that article recently. It's still a pretty lame defense and at this point, you'd think the Mayweather camp would just ignore it.
I don't have a problem with catchweights if both parties are willing. Floyd is a hypocrite, but who the hell (including blinded FMJ fans) didn't realize that years ago?
What I don't understand is why he didn't try for a rehydration clause. I really have no idea how these contracts work, but it seems that a rehydration clause (or perhaps a lower-than-normal rehydration clause?) would fly under the radar and still have the same results. Day-before weigh-ins have always been a joke; it's really the night-of weigh-ins that are the concern. This is of course assuming the Mayweather camp solely cared about the weight and not playing mind games.
Man, where the **** do you buy your drugs at? You should give your dealer a bonus for that dumb ****. Floyd and tired doesn't even make ****ing sense when put in the same sentence
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTdqV8XkYNo <---- This man doesn't get tired.
Moreover, Canelo is hardly a pressure fighter. In fact, the big worry with him is his low work rate, as witnessed in the Trout fight that a lot of folks ringside thought was closer than judged. I personally think Canelo won, but it still stands that he's no Paul Williams, not even close.
With the catchweight and Floyd's sharp counters, I doubt Canelo can keep up any amount of pressure that will make Floyd uncomfortable. Most expected a similar game plan from Guerrero, but the simple fact is that Floyd adjusts and deters. A lot of idiots complained that Guerrero didn't stick with his game plan but few do when they're getting hit with sharp counters - not powerful counters, but still ones that make you second guess yourself.
translation of OP: "I'm a sucker for artificially sweetened soap opera drama."
The worst parts of either are the melodramatic intros and outros. I'd rather just see a solid 30 minutes of footage with no narration.
Not to fuel the fire, but he did smack the **** out of Moreno's testicles as well...which, when you think about it, is quite the accomplishment considering Moreno's awkwardly long torso.
Not defending but stating shit happens. Mora and Mares both were held accountable and went through harsh scrutiny.
Oh gosh! Harsh scrutiny! And then back to business as usual...
Devastating KO. Leg went limp before he went down.
He shouldn't have gotten up so quick and let the ref see him wobble
Too much pride, like Khan in the Garcia fight. Guys try to get up quick and act like they just slipped instead of giving themselves a few precious seconds to recover as much as possible before standing (or trying to stand). Berto can complain about not getting an 8 count but he looked out on his stool right after the ref ended it, let alone out on his feet.
Props to Soto-Karass and his adorable wife lololol...and props to Showtime for putting together a great card.
Who's hyping him? Anybody who knows a great deal on boxing knows he won't be anything special, but he's a successful Olympian, and a proud man to represent his country in a sport that could see potential in many future professionals.
Bob is obviously using him purely as a cash cow, but any sort of exposure Zou creates in China, can only benefit the sport.
Some bitter folk on here.
Lol seriously...it took me some time to even find the results for the fight; I'd hardly call that hyped up. Any serious boxing fan is just following out of curiosity/the extreme lull in fights we had recently.
Floyd - for pure, brilliant boxing.
As a Matthysse nuthugger, Garcia surprised me. However, you have to admit the clinching and nut-punching was excessive.
I'll let the nut-punching slide because it happens and I don't think it had much effect in the end. The clinching was simply too frequent and unwarranted. It wasn't a matter of two fighters getting tied up on the inside or after an exchange, it was Danny neutralizing Matthysse's power by grabbing him - at times, before a shot was even THROWN. Smart? Sure. As finessed as Floyd's performance? Absolutely not.
Oscar is rich still.
Seriously, you people are retarded. Do you really feel sorry for a man who did what he loved for so many years, makes a **** ton of money by being involved with it on the promotion level working with great young talent, and blows it all on coke? Let me tell you about my life then...
I'm still interested in a Sergio Martinez fight, but I don't know if that would be competitive if Sergio is still on the decline/injury prone and if he could even make 154 or something lower.
Could've at least gotten to the shirt wiping step before calling it off...pretty ****ing stupid.
This reminds me of a different but similar situation in McGirt stopping the Macklin v. Martinez fight at the end of the 11th rather than giving Macklin his rest and stopping it at the beginning of the 12th (if need be). Same for Soto v Matthysse...
While there is merit to this point, to be fair Petey didnt steamroll N'Dam or dominate the fight. That was a 7-5 scrap. I think N'dam's performance gets sold short when one sums up the fight as him merely being knocked down 6 times. There was more to it than that.
Great points here; the glass-half-full side for N'dam is that he GOT UP all 6 times and continued to fight. Some thought the fight was still up for grabs in the championship rounds until Quillin scored the two final knockdowns.
That being said, GGG probably has a hell lot more power than Quillin, and better timing...probably would catch N'dam throwing those wide combos he threw against Quillin.
I can't find anything anywhere, Google search is messed up now, you can't even find older articles with exact term search anymore, I used to find old articles and videos just typing a term on there. The only thing I remember from 2005 was some Filipino lady interviewing Mayweather before the Morales fight and he said my boy Pacquiao gonna win by knockout and he said that Pacman wasn't 100 percent in the first fight and now he will be 100 percent or something, I can't find that video anymore. Google is messed up their search
Yeah its crazy, thats why if they did their first press con it would be huge, imagine if they signed to fight in 2010? That fight would have broke 3 million buys for sure, and the face off would probably be shown all over the news stations live.
**** would be intense.
That sounds surreal; I'd love to see that if you find it.
Hot ****, amongst all the threads started by Floyd nuthuggers, *******s, and Canelo-has-an-ATG-snake-(and-it's-apparently-stuffed-in-your-mouth) ****heads, you hit me with an intriguing question. Thank you for that, sir.
Any version of Pac prior to his last fight would definitely have a chance; now, I think we have to see how he fares against Rios. If he wins convincingly - preferrably by KO after eating some good shots just to prove he still has a chin - I'd say a fight with Barker would be awesome to see. I could see a catchweight or re-hydration limit being completely fair and within the bounds of what Barker would be willing to do for a big payday (far larger than anything he'd find at middleweight at the moment).
I've already covered this, but for the benefit of you and others, I'll cover it again. You can say you don't believe this if you want, but I trust the judgement of a respected professor in exercise physiology and coach of Olympic athletes who has researched the subject for decades over people on this forum. As this table shows, for 800m the difference between sea level and 10,000ft is 1.4s - and Big Bear is about 7000ft.

Calculations are based on data from Daniels' Running Formula by Jack Daniels PhD.
GTFO err'one knows Jack Daniels just makes whiskey. He ain't a doctor no mo' than Dr Pepper!
Haha, I just Googled that after seeing him mouthing in the background during Arreola's interview.
I'd love to see him and Michael Buffer fight to the death.
Phuck this gay earth. Sad when you know a robbery is coming. Total disgrace.
Really sad...everyone in the guru chat had that sinking feeling when the 12th ended.
Beltran fought such a smart fight, didn't punch himself out, didn't ***** about Burns's excessive holding. Serious ****ing bull****
I watch boxing to watch great fights, not to jack off over Golovkin. Calling the division depressing after the fight we just saw is stupid.
Brilliant.
And the whole "best aren't fighting the best" nonsense sure doesn't hold up with the general (and quite frankly, 100% correct) consensus that paper titles are just that, paper titles. The only MW champ that probably has a chance against GGG is Sergio Martinez circa 1-2 years ago. It's really GGG/a Martinez that probably doesn't exist anymore as the best and then all the rest. What does GGG really prove by demolishing a poor chap like Barker?
