If Canelo signed the papers and agreed to it, it is on him.
These fighters need to have more backbone in negotiations. They have the choice to walk away. He did not even Need Floyd. He was making good money on his own.
I'm not hating on Floyd for doing it, just like I didn't hate on Manny for doing it. The guys with power will always try to swindle things in their favor. The ones looking for the fight simply need to learn how to say F**k This and walk if they feel they are being treated unfairly.
Canelo should come in at 154. It still won't matter. Canelo is still going to get his ass kicked.
isn't that what the thread is about? i'm just saying there's a lot of bias ppl on both sides of the coinBut the difference is Pac fans don't try to justify Pac saying "I don't do Catchweights, I am not that type of guy" because he wasn't the one who said it. Both guys may be wrong for doing Catchweights but only ONE was a hypocrite and we know who that is.
Not even close to being similar.Pac's never found anyone near the size of canelo.Pac never insulted another star like Floyd did. You have no clue what hypocrisy is. I'll give you a clue. Both Floyd and Pac have done Catchweights.....only ONE said he is not that type of guy. "I don't do Catchweights". Guess who that was??? I'll give you a hint. He goes by Money.

The catchweight is a problem because Floyd contradicted himself.
But I'm happy about it because:
1. Canelo won the paper title against Matthew Hatton (a welterweight at a catchweight)
2. Defended the title against smaller fighters (Alfonso Gomez, Josesito Lopez and Shane Mosley and now Mayweather.)
So the argument "Why does a 154 pound champion need to fight another 154 champion at a catchweight?" argument can easily be countered with why hasn't Canelo (the 154 pound champion) been defending his title against 154 pound fighters?"
Lara, Molina, Kirkland and Angulo have all been fighting each other only to end up being screwed.
And yes he fought Trout but I'm not giving him props for doing something he was supposed to do. That doesn't erase the bull**** that was going on before.
This will go unanswered.
What is it with some of you Floyd fans...
It's a no win issue with you guys..
You try to give Floyd opponents credit for being tuff you downplay that..
So when people just automatically downplay all of his opponents to begin with you find a issue with that??lol
You don't even have an argument. What are you even talking about?

My point is stop being biased, stand for something 100 percent or kill yourself, because if you do not stand for something you will fall for anything...you are not seeing a damn penny from this so man up and keep it real damn
The fight is signed. You were probably one of the main posters killing Pac too. And now we get this from you, lmao. Hilarious.

The scoring was 10-2
Explain to me how he was landing all night...
Floyd schooled him.
He landed a few jabs...
Get over it.

He exceeded expectations, to me he was landing clean, effective shots, and has a good amount of pressure.
I think it's the fight one should look toward as a blueprint in beating Floyd, not the Delahoya fight nor the Castillo fight, only because that fight was SOOOOOOO long ago, and Mayweather style and skill level have changed a bit.

Because Cotto was/is a shopworn fighter who'd taken a couple of horrific beatings already and been in numerous wars. His defence isn't great and I thought Floyd would open up on him and eventually force a stoppage.

Cotto worst beatings were at 145 and with an opponent who very likely, but not definitively, cheated. Those fights were under TR with a different trainer. Cotto brought in Diaz who concentrated on boxing and moving and seemed to have him better prepared.
Cotto definitely had mileage on him. But he is an above average pro fighter-we expect him to land shots at some point. I just find it hard to say 10-2 or 9-3 is exceeding expectations with a fighter who has cotto's credentials even though he has mileage.
ok. why would you think floyd would ko cotto when he hs 2 ko's above 147? Cotto did what you'd expect someone of his caliber to do. He fought hard, tried to win. I don't know if he exceeded expectations.

personally, i think they stop short of killing themselves. that's just me.
