I will be covering the whole bill tonight from ringside. I will pass a link to all the fight reports through the night when they are ready.
Regarding main event. I expect Ricky to be too good for Beltran. If Beltran doesnt push Burns back then he will get beaten from the outside. Beltran has to get inside where he is incredibly accurate.
Styles makes fights and this will be a good one.
Ricky by late TKO (could be cuts) or wide UD
I had it 115 - 112 Beltran
Can't blame Burns for the result, but those pundits talking about his jaw like it was excusable was pretty lame. . .
I mean sure it would have been a major factor in the fight and would have hampered his performance tremdously but that doesn't give him a pass to make it a draw (which was pretty much how it came across to one or 2 broadcasters)
I felt bad for Beltram, I hope they can get a rematch somewhere outside of Scotland (I'm from the UK btw)
Ouch. We can't let the decision keep us from acknowledging Burns' heart.
Burns has a huge heart.
The broken jaw has to be taken into account for this fight aswell.
I'm from the UK, and whilst Ricky is one of the nicest guys in the business, he was shockingly poor last night and the way he got to keep his title was an absolute disgrace. I scored it 115-112 Beltran. You could tell by the reaction of the crowd that they had just witnessed a crime. I've tweeted Eddie Hearn asking how much he paid Ortiz. I don't expect a reply.
PS and people think Floyd would come over here to fight Amir Khan... :blow:
On the face of it, yes. I think people have to take into consideration that he had to deal with a broken jaw for 10 rounds, which clearly hampered his game plan. I knew something was wrong when Ricky kept holding. He is a big strong lad at the weight, and he is usually quite comfortable fighting on the inside.
That said, it happened and Beltran clearly won on the night.
Probably, but as we know in boxing you have take the champ's belt and the close rounds tend to go to the home fighter.
Btw, Burns's jaw is clean broken.
With Ricky in hospital -it's not good-clean break to jaw from 2nd round - staying in hospital and operation tomorrow pic.twitter.com/Dz85PivvRd— Eddie Hearn (@EddieHearn) September 8, 2013

Huh? I was replying to a guy who said Ward shouldn't fight Froch in the UK, and I told him the judging ain't much better in the U.S. so I don't understand why you're arguing with me...
OOps I think I clicked reply on the wrong person.
I could see a round the other way, I had the 3rd close.
It's tough on Ray because I think Beltran won the physical fight, Burns couldn't hurt him and he dislocated his jaw but scored on rounds Burns was putting work in and won enough of them to level it imo.
Again, I'm not saying Burns won. I thought the fight was a draw.
Same, Beltran definitely finished off the fight as the less affected guy but Burns did enough to win an equal share of rounds. I had Beltran winning by a point due to the KD, without that the fight is a draw. I can see people scoring it for Beltran by 2 or 3 points which is understandable but any more than that and it's ridiculous.

I know everybody is saying that a fighter can't get a fair call in the UK, but actually it is everywhere. The promoters that put on the card protects their own interests and any fighter that agrees to a fight has to realize they might get screwed.
They should make a rematch and the WBO should order it to be on neutral ground.
Steve Bunce disrespecting Burns on the Arreola-Mitchell coverage.
I hate when people blame the fighter for a robbery instead of the promoters/judges/referees/sanctioning bodies, etc.
Burns did his job which was to fight for 12 rounds.

I see that. It's all about who writes his pay-cheques tho. Disappointing from him because he's actually quite entertaining to listen to as a presenter (imo).

Ay yay yay. Last thing this division needed.

The guy is a warrior.
I thought Burns won the 1st and then top of my head edged maybe the 6th, 7th, few close rounds 2-5 I don't recall which ones. 11th was close. All going off the top of my head.
Was a close fight if I'm totally honest but with the KD, I think Beltran not winning was very unlucky for him. Anywhere else, Beltran likely would have got the W.

For sure. It wasn't a serious comment, it was a reply to his insult.
How many close rounds?
Like I said in a previous post, I thought Chilemba beat Bellew twice and Dirrell beat Froch so it's not about backing the home fighter on my part. It's just how I saw this one.

That's fair enough but I'm just saying. Referring to the scorecards as evidence is abit of a cop-out. We know incompetence and corruption exists whether it happened in this fight or not.

I'm always honest.
I had Beltran by 2 points.
