Lets just speak for real. I do not like Floyd, never have. But the man is one, if not the best fighter active. I wanted Canelo to win, even thought he had a fair chance. However it was clear that his team had the wrong game plan and decided to stand in the center of the ring and try to outbox Floyd. So Floyd did what he does and that is thoroughly out class him. He did an excellent job of that, just like he was supposed to.
But Garcia, well lets just say even though I thought the fight was 50/50, I still did not expect what transpired there. Danny himself is young and he showed the skill of a vet. He clinched when he needed to, caught massive shots and countered hard. He sidestepped and showed tremendous footwork, he threw short crisp combo's when he had to and basically put the fearless Mattysse wherever he wanted to put him. The night belonged to Danny Garcia and I don't think that's really debatable.
I picked Garcia to win over a room full of Matthysse fanatics. Haters will focus on the points of the fight that were unbecoming, but Garcia can take a punch and he can fight. Turns out, if you don't wilt under Matthysse's power you kinda take the teeth and claws out of the tiger. Garcia overcame what many were predicting was going to be a certain defeat, his win was more impressive from that standpoint.
Floyd once again demonstrated what should be unquestioned brilliance.
(Changed my mind after listening to Broner.)
Floyd was typical Floyd. However, on this night; Hands down, it belonged to Danny Garcia because most boxing fans had written him off and didn't give him much of a chance of defeating the hard punching Lucas Matthysse and yet he proved them all wrong. Therefore, I must tip my hat to him on a job well done. He made his fans very proud. He earned my respect and he's proven that he is one heck of a champion.
Mayweather was masterclass as always and straight embarrassed Alvarez. Garcia proved me wrong, but he wasn't more impressive than Floyd, not even close.
Garcia he is grown a lot as the quality of his opponent rises so does he, he has honestly surprised me in the last couple of fights sure better boxed better than i thought he could and took it on the chin like a champ no bambi legs. Floyd was just Floyd he did his thing and the guy in front of him couldn't solve the puzzle.
Floyd. There were times I was just in awe how he just stood there while Canelo couldn't do a thing.
Garcia didn't impress me. Dirty fighting bums don't impress me.
Some Mexicans jus don't have it in there heart to give a puerto Rican props huh?
I bet your bum as was all for margarito and he was cheating,, Danny ain't no dirty fighter,, canelo fought dirtier than anybody, victor Ortiz got ktfo for fighting dirty,
Impressed with Danny beating The Machine, wasn't too impressed with Mayweather Jr, because deep down I knew he was going to win. To tell you the truth I slept like million times during the fight, and was going to switch the fight off another million times, because I really was disappointed with Canelo.
Maybe he will get a re-match in the future and fight a true fight, not punching only his arms!!
Well I expected this from Floyd, and it was still awe inspiring. . . but Garcia proved he can stand and bang with Lucas, which I didn't think he'd do so I'd pick Garcia
The low blows were out of order though, and the eye helped, but I did think Garcia outboxed him genuinely.
I jus wanna give props to Danny, I picked him to win,, and I'd like to say Phuuck all the haters in here who were rydin Lucas's kok,, and as far as u guys sayin Danny fought dirty,, Lucas kept pulling Danny's head down all night so Phuuck it he deserved that low blow at the end
Both were great. Too bad Floyd didn't get the stoppage. Danny showed how well he mixes it up and improved a lot, beating Lucas easier than he beat Zab.
Mayweather beat Canelo easier than Guerrero (to think it was possible) and looked his best possible
well garcia barely won if at all and that was with some dubious reffing and fouling throughout the fight. if that impresses you then i would say you are easily impressed or that you thought garcia was a complete garbage fighter going into the fight and were shocked he didn't get ko'd in 1 second.
Matthysse hitting behind the head or pulling Garcia's head down, that means nothing then? Those low blows were unintentional and most were attributed to Matthysse pulling the head down.
I knew Garcia would win...I firmly believed it. One of my homies here said I was one of twelve fans of Garcia.
Matthyse was hyped to Goku levels and Danny beat him and beat him impressively.
Mayweather was always going to be too much for someone flat footed like Canelo. Danny had people realizing that he shouldn't be trifled with. He can't beat Maywather, but that's ok, nobody can.

It really depends, when talking being surprised doing something you didn't think a guy had in them. Impressive in that way it would surely be Danny Garcia.
If talking sheer brilliance and approaching perfection it would be Mayweather.
Both impressive but in different ways.
Both of them, man I might even say Garcia I was surprised at how he avoided all those big punches. I liked the movement, angle, the way he picked his spots, knowing when to clinch, that was a damn good performance by Danny. I hope people stop sleeping on him now.
Agreed, I'll never doubt him again. He's a fighter that fights to his opponents level and always manages to win impressively. He really looked great tonight and I dare say, stole the show.
