Some were low. Borderline is legal but cheap strategy to keep hitting there just because the ref is allowing it. Not even one warning to Ward to keep it up.
Don't expect to get many responses as one would be hard-pressed to find any more than 4 rounds for Horn. But I do believe that it's time for Pac to hang it up cos Horn should've been an easy fight. Prime Pac would've had a field day with Horn's style. Counters all day. His timing and accuracy have diminished considerably. Should call it quits before he gets seriously hurt. What an amazing career though.
kind of sounds like you not giving him props with all those excuses. Then in the end you say props to Garcia
After 6 rounds, most people had the fight even. The turning point was round 7 when Matthysse's eye got busted. It was from a jab by the way, not a hook, Garcia even confirmed it.
I said props to him cos he understood the situation and did what he had to do. He started circling to the left and began unloading hooks and combos cos he knew Matthysse won't see it. I don't know what level of props you expect me to give Garcia. It wasn't like he took him to school like Floyd did to Canelo.
The reason why these purses are low is for Pac to work around and pay less taxes in the US and the Philippines. They would disclose a smaller amount to the public, Arum then personally wires him the rest of the guaranteed purse. Pac has been getting $20M+ purses for a while now.
If I was Pacquiao and I possess his abilities, I will be very confident knowing I have the speed, power and stamina to compete with FMJ for 12 rounds. With that in mind, my game plan would be to outpoint FMJ and not go for the KO. I would fight him similar to the way Pascal fought Dawson, only better. I would circle around the ring and make him come to me. As soon as he gets in range coming forward, I explode with a 4-6 quick punch combo then move out. Recoup then circle around again. Wait for him to get close and explode again, then move out. Once FMJ figures out what I'm trying to do, I will then mix up my attack with a lot of feints since he's gonna look to time and counter my explosions better. I will basically stick to the same game plan only adding more upper body movement and a lot of feinting to be elusive with my attack. My offense will be my defense. The key is to stay with the game plan through out. I have the stamina and everything else to do it for 12 rounds.
He's the only top tier fighter who gets away from fighting cab drivers. If either Pac or Floyd pull off something like this, you will never hear the end of it from the critics.
Cotto had to be injured coming in. Never threw the left with authority the whole night. It was frustrating to watch. Canelo has definitely improved though. Needs to move up. Looked gaunt at the weigh-in and massive tonight.
For the PBF fans, it's not okay when Roach is talking trash to get
into the heads of Pac's opponents. But when Roger and PBF's daddy
are spitting sh!t, it's all good 'cos it's "funny" and just mind games.
For the FMJ fans, there is nothing Pac can do to be effective against Floyd.
The way they see it, FMJ has a counter for every move Pac makes. Like if Pac
throws a 6 punch combo, FMJ blocks all lol. If Pac uses his quick footwork to
go inside FMJ at a 45 degree angle, FMJ will just tag him with his lightning
left hook.
Corley was able to land and hurt FMJ with a huge overhand left. Judah was
able to land straight lefts and a right hook that actually knock FMJ down.
Castillo was able to use controlled aggression and high punch output against
FMJ on their first fight. These guys are nothing compare to Pac; but they
were able to find a way to be effective against FMJ, whether it was for a
short moment or not. They were able to find a way, and yet the FMJ fans
give Pac zero chance to come up with an effective strategy. SMH.
PS: Zab does have a slightly quicker hands than Pac. But footspeed-wise,
there is no comparison.
I wouldn't count Zab out against the likes of Alexander, Bradley and
especially Khan. He's still very dangerous in the early rounds. He's
there for the taking though if you get passed the 1st half of the fight.
Nonetheless, Zab was a given a gift tonight. Matthysse beat the crap
out of him the 2nd half of the fight.. won by at least 2 rounds imo.
Floyd-Mosley highlighted the Ost..no need to do it here..it's agreed to in the contracts
Knowing Floyd, this is something he would want to highlight over and over
just to take shots at Pacquiao like he usually does. That's why I find it
weird that it's not part of the 24/7 plot this time at all.
Cotto fought an amazing fight. He dished out a lot of punishment, but he took twice as much. He was badly hurt in the 12th. I think he went straight to the locker room because he was in a world of pain, and he probably just wanted to sit down and relax. Great fight.
If you watch each round very carefully and pay real close attention to the action, you will score it 10-2 for Floyd. There were many close rounds, but almost all were clearly won by Floyd. I know it's hard to accept because you are a fan of Cotto. I was a big fan of Mayorga and for the longest time I believed he should've won his fight against Spinks lol.
We're all just too excited for Donaire after his amazing performance.
Bottom line though, he's only fought 2 named fighters who are not
really boxers but more like brawlers, Darchinyan and Montiel. Not to
mention those two opponents are shorter and smaller than him.
Donaire has the speed, power and skills. But his heart and chin are
still in question. Pacquiao is proven in every department and his
accomplishments are second to none. So at this point, saying that
Donaire is better than Pac is ridiculous.
And btw, if you believe than Montiel was really 8 lbs bigger than
Donaire during the fight, you're a fool. It was more like the other
way around.
This dude is hellarious. Nobody impresses him but Floyd and PWill.
Just stop hating and be a boxing fan for a change. Donaire put on
a spectacular performance. It's okay for people to be wowed and
excited.
WV2 has decent speed and was able to catch Donaire a few times while Donaire was trying to bait him with a counter left hook ala Montiel. Donaire's defense is poor. He always gets hit and gets marked up easily. Plus he hasn't faced anyone bigger than him so far. Pac at 122 was bigger, stronger, hungrier and WAY faster than Donaire is right now. Pac will walk him down, eat his shots, beat him up BAD, and finally stops him around the 8th or 9th round.
Exactly bro. The KD made me jump off my seat, but I was even
amazed how Montiel somehow managed to get up. Fook muscle
memory, that was all heart. I'm even a bigger fan now of both
guys.
Khan did well, but still has a lot to work on. His speed and offense
could very well carry him to beat the rest of the 140 pounders.
But he showed there's still a big gap between him and PBF/PAC.
He should stay far away from those two.
Khan's defense still sucks. His head movement hasn't improved that
much. He has no counter punching abilities and fights dumb in spots.
Maidana was wild and wide open. I like Khan, he showed heart
tonight, but he should've shined brighter against this wild brawler.
