Every time the momentum is about to shift in his side, something bad happened.
He wins round 6 big, only to get his eye closed by a freaky jab
the following round.
In round 11, he hurts Garcia early, knocking his mouthpiece out.
The ref halts his momentum by giving Garcia time to get a new
guard and recover.
Then in round 12, Matthysse gets desperate and goes ball$ to the
wall, pressuring effectively and busting up Garcia. He loses his
momentum again when Garcia deliberately hits him with a low blow.
It just wasn’t his night. Props to Garcia though for fighting like
a vet and turning it up when he needed to.
kind of sounds like you not giving him props with all those excuses. Then in the end you say props to Garcia
After 6 rounds, most people had the fight even. The turning point was round 7 when Matthysse's eye got busted. It was from a jab by the way, not a hook, Garcia even confirmed it.
I said props to him cos he understood the situation and did what he had to do. He started circling to the left and began unloading hooks and combos cos he knew Matthysse won't see it. I don't know what level of props you expect me to give Garcia. It wasn't like he took him to school like Floyd did to Canelo.

If you take a look at the knock down, he was hit on the back of the head which put him inside the ropes which lead to the kd.
If that was spotted then thats a 3pt swing and he wins.
just bad luck accompanied by a much better than expected garcia imo
Lucas is the 1000000000 time king of rabbit punching. It's literally a part of every single one of his fight plans. He can't complain.
On the knockdown, the body shot sent him down. He was going down as soon as it hit, everything else was just ancillary.
I swear there are so many excuses in this thread..its bad luck because he got punched in the eye and it swole? it's bad luck because he got knocked on his ass??damn give Danny his credit...he made all that happen..Lucas didn't slip on a damn bananna peal and hit his eye on the canvas and then it swole up and caused the knockdowm..e got his ass whooped

Hahahaha Danny whipped his arse thats why it wasnt his nyt!! I wonder if ppl will give it up for danny!! Also i see how lucas fans take it or claim he was robbed again!!
Yes they did but then they stopped using it and used his fingers instead
I honestly thought they did a good job with the swelling. Not much they could've done but at the start of every round it was semi-open till Garcia would close it again with a couple of punches.
Judah cut his forhead but he was pretty beat up after the Matthysse fight last night, both face and ribs. There's a video of Danny crying after the fight, his face looks marked all over.
Danny was crying after the fight because he was emotional, cause everyone thought he would lose. Everyone counted him out. Damn near this entire forum was crucifying him for months! Jesus would be amazed at the way Garcia was crucified before the fight. Haha.
:lol1:
I just find it funny that Matthysse that gets random drug tested and suddenly couldn't knockdown Danny once despite hitting him cleanly quite a bit. Danny was never visibly hurt like how Judah had him towards the end of their fight. And instead, it was Danny that knocked down Matthysse. And Danny's face was marked up more by Judah in my opinion, including the cut to the head. Khan also marked up Danny's face in just a few rounds. And Khan doesn't even have Matthysse's knockout ratio.
I will say though, Matthysse did do something special though in knocking out Danny's mouthpiece.
I'm not gonna say Lucas was overrated because i think he's a good fighter and obviously powerful, however...before last night you could argue that the 2 best fighters he had been in with in Judah and Alexander (i rate them above Peterson) took him the distance. Whether you feel he was robbed in them fights is another matter but at the end of the day, he couldn't knock them out. I give him credit for some of his stoppages like the Peterson fight but as it stands right now, the 3 best fighters he has fought have took him the distance. Great power will only get you to a certain level before other factors come in to play.
This is just my opinion.
But I believe the Lucas Matthysse that isn't random drug tested is truly incredibly hard hitting and punch resistant as he was made out to be! But the random drug tested Lucas Matthysse is quite different! Still can hit well, but not so well that he's just running through guys with ease and one punch. And not able to be as punch resistant either.
It seemed like Judah hurt Garcia more than Matthysse did.

I feel he was very very fortunate Lucas Matthysse was nowhere near as skilled, hard hitting or punch resistant as he was made out to be. And I do mean nowhere near.
This is just my opinion.

He's got maybe 5 more years of boxing and could still do great things, but with that dumas corner of his he wont reach his potential. He should move to US like every clever boxer does but he's not leaving his country behind so thats that. Still, he's a tough and entertainig fighter that gives it all. Just wasnt his night. Hell, it was still 10x better than the crappy main event.
I feel bad he didn't have a plan B. Really looked one dimenaional in there last night. Couldn't handle Danny clinching and tying him up.
and how do you handle someone clinching you? throw them out of the ring dawson style? i'm sure that would have went over well with tony garcia i mean weeks.
