what would your game plan be?
After reading the post of ''overwhelm him with offence, non stop pressure'' & me falling off my chair laughing thinking to myself ''thank **** you aren't my trainer''
It did lead me to think how would you beat him?
So what your gameplan be? I think realistically to have any chance what so ever you are going to need more than 1 game plan because as soon as he adapts you'll be left with ****, simply put.
So tell us what you would do & i'll read them when I get back from my shower :)
Best answer will win a prize.
If I was Pacquiao and I possess his abilities, I will be very confident knowing I have the speed, power and stamina to compete with FMJ for 12 rounds. With that in mind, my game plan would be to outpoint FMJ and not go for the KO. I would fight him similar to the way Pascal fought Dawson, only better. I would circle around the ring and make him come to me. As soon as he gets in range coming forward, I explode with a 4-6 quick punch combo then move out. Recoup then circle around again. Wait for him to get close and explode again, then move out. Once FMJ figures out what I'm trying to do, I will then mix up my attack with a lot of feints since he's gonna look to time and counter my explosions better. I will basically stick to the same game plan only adding more upper body movement and a lot of feinting to be elusive with my attack. My offense will be my defense. The key is to stay with the game plan through out. I have the stamina and everything else to do it for 12 rounds.
Well ima a super heavyweight so the only advantage I have over him is power and size. Probably just go straight for him from round 1, just attack whatever he offers he offers me, if he ducked into his shell i'd just aim at whatever's there, back of the head, whatever lol
with a pistol....:war!!:
i would wear high heels and lipstick and perhaps serve him with some court papers. then i would definitely have a fight on my hands.
With a gun of some kind...probably need a big knife too just in case.
with fire
i would DEFEND MYSELF AT ALL TIMES!
Seriously, these are the best techniques when you`re up against them demon kinds. And don`t forget the stakes and holy water. We have to be well prepared to protect ourselves at all times.
I could see Mayweather getting back to boxing vs Manny and Pac looks basic when a guy who can really box is infront of him, Cotto late didnt really put on nearly enough offence and Mosley never did but u could see how frustrated Pac was getting and Floyd is FAR more elusive than those two and will be making him pay for those misses...
I think Money does him good :boxing:
I dont even envision a great fight but i HAVE TO SEE IT!
Cotto had his moments against Pac for the first 4 rounds, until he got clipped. The guys a bad dude :alucard:
I hope he gets revenge against Margarito but I personally can't really see it happening.
Same with me, I don't even think Pac v Floyd would be that competitive or exciting. In fact I think it'll be the biggest anti-climax ever and everyone will be saying ''3 or whatever years for this sh1t'' lol
Just as long Floyd whoops his ass so I can hear everyones excuses is all I ask for :P
Excellent post! I too personally think Cotto in his prime at his very best would of had the best chance/most success.
Great jab & a wicked body puncher. I expect Floyd to of pulled through in the end but he'd of defo had a proper tough fight on his hands.
In fact I think his style would of caused more problems than Pacs would/will. I personally think Pac is kind of made for Floyd to just pick apart.

Id think the best strategy would be to push him back, dont let Floyd do the walking down act on you! Get him in boxer mode, press forward with intent but not wreckless abandonment like Hatton, (Think Cotto vs Judah/Quintana) Use ur jab consistently and cut the ring off (see above reference), work the body whenever u can and let ur hands go when he is on the ropes, dont be afraid to miss - ur gonna! But if u throw 5 or 6 hopefully 1 or 2 get home, Fire straight shots in combination like a Pacquaio/Khan aswell as they are harder to roll with. Be fit and be ready for a long night coz it aint gonna be easy baby and you know it!
I think a peak Cotto had the best shot at Floyd personally and its nothing to do with the fact im a big Cotto fan, its just how i see it
Mayweather is the best fighter in the sport though and at this point i can only see him losing to father time or a far larger foe

Get him on the ropes (fairly easy) right hooks over the left bicep in the shell.
Pacquiao can split his guard work the body don't headhunt.
He is horrific at blocking combinations opening w/ the straight left, right hook
Very easy to hit to the body, left side especially.
Completely beatable at WW.
Shakes his head in utter dismay.
Oh get back to dressing up your little Pacman dollies, Christ Sake you utter hater.
We`ll that`s how I, myself would fight him, just answering the masterful topic you created. You never said the fight was to be in the ring.
BTW, good luck on your dark, grim thoughts.
I would go to the skating rink and park my car diagonally in two disabled 80-year old person`s spot and shout on them if they complain, shoot the car tires of his bodyguard and attack him with my finger, slap his gf around on the way in, hit Floyd with a bottle while he`s putting on his gear, hide like a chicken, follow him on his club drinking spree, hit him again with a bottle when he`s drunk/ burning money and not ready like he did Ortiz, then hide again like a chicken, then retire in my abode.
Like Floyd, I have a very good defensive style.

Foot work
Speed
Attack from all angles.
Never stay in the same spot.
You beat Floyd with movement.
If you make a pattern, Floyd will pick up on it and take you apart.
This is why Manny is the perfect storm against Floyd.
Unorthodox rhythm, speed, footwork, stamina, and angles.
Roach's plan will be huge against Floyd and he's had a lot of time to work one up.
Show some movement. Throw a couple cautious jabs (different ranges and speeds) Then throw an inside leg kick followed by another jab and straight into a double leg take down. Transition into full mount and fire away until floyd tapped due to strikes.
