I've been seeing alot of threads, on last nights fights. Some of um are good, some of them are completely horrible.
So lets talk about the other event that happened in the Donaire vs. Montiel match. We all know that the KD was spectacular. But what I find even more spectacular, was the fact that Montiel beat the fukkin count, after being starched cold. That was some Michael Myers/Jason type shiit. I mean the man convulsed and STILL beat the count. Thoughts on Montiel's huge heart??????
Bruh. I gotta say that heart was involved. Sometimes human will over-rides quite a bit of shiit bruh.
Arturo Gatti was heart, getting up and consciously choosing to fight back, Montiel did nothing but take 2 more shots and went back to sleep. The guy was having a brain spasm, his automatic nervous system stood him up not his heart.
That wasn't nothing but muscle memory, instinct to get up, I doubt he was even conscious when he rose.

So. I'm a hour in yea. They talkin bout how BP did us down bad. Bruh I tell ya, I'm so ready to geaux home. I feel like I'm not at home, when home needs me deya. :crying:
I was pissed Mora let him continue to be honest. That can't happen. He was out and convulsing. Fights over right then and let the doctor in the ring immediately.
could it be of peds? just thinking, after i saw how RIPPED he is before the fight. if he happens to survives that punch and eventually beat nonito, does anybody here will suspect that he is on some peds? just a thought after this ped thing nowadays.
Good point on the muscle memory thing. It was more him just automatically try to get up even with his brain in scrambles.
Still Montiel hitting the deck and immediately trying to get up was something to behold. I dont think I've ever seen it.
dat dude is a ****ing warrior man
that was a devastating punch and he managed somehow to make it to his feet
the ref should have stopped it but he only took two shots more than he needed
but people need to give the man some respect for rising up like a true champion
Donaire's power is really something to behold though
i want to see him in there with Mares :boxing:
No disrespect to Montiel but the only reason he got up was because he thought he was somewhere else. Maybe his bed.
Thats fukked up. Funny as shiit but fuked up nonetheless. :lol1: :nonono:

Exactly! Just like how Maidana got up from a liver shot that few fighters get up from. His body said "no, no, no" where his heart said "yes, yes, yes". Without heart, no fighter gets up from shots like that.
And not to change the subject in any way, but along the same lines of heart - Just as how Soto-Karass kept fighting on with barely a whimper after each accidental headbutt occured in the fight with Jones (btw it wasn't really either fighters fault specifically, it just happens) - you see so many fighters these days with far less cuts, claiming that they can't go on and fininsh a fight.
Fighters with heart is what makes them special in my eyes, and makes them a far more exciting fighter to watch then one who takes the easier way out when things get a bit out of whack.
BEAUTIFUL example Lo!!!!!!! I've been watching Boxing for bout 30 years, and I've NEVER seen a fighter take a flush liver shot and beat a 10 count.
I'm glad you made this thread, I don't believe the announcers didn't make a bigger deal out of the fact that he got up. Roy Jones gave him his props for getting up though! I like Roy as an announcer. Montiel getting up from that was the most impressive recovery I've probably ever scene! I think as soon as his eyes came back, he rolled over and saw what was going on and then he knew he needed to get up and could see the ropes and that he was on the cavas. But the ref made the right call, Donaire would have just overwhelmed him with a 40 punch flurry and he would have called the fight 5 seconds later, no use letting Montiel get hurt. I think they should rematch though, I don't think this means that Montiel is that much more superior, he just had the right strategy.
I couldn't believe he got up. I thought he was convulsing on the ground at first. I jumped up went ohhhh! and walked out of the room, came back and he was up, my jaw dropped.
Of course it was still over, but damn that was Jason like.
that looked like A similar shot bradley got hit with against holt.
to be honest montiel is a lot more fragile then one may have thought (as a world class fighter) I've never seen someone have a mini fit in the ring like that before. his docter need to check that out......WTF.
Fragile my a$$. Other fighters would have been asleep for the next week if they took the shot Montiel did.
I call it a fighter's heart. No matter the race, if you're a born fighter thats the heart you're gonna display.
Unbelievable it was muscle memory that brought him to his feet.
Its a bit misleading to say it was his heart as his brain was in complete sense of shock and turned on all defence mechanisms (kicking etc) The last thing it wants to do is get up. But getting up is whats implanted in his muscle memory.
But the whole notion of a 'heart' is metaphorical as its all in the brain itself. So i guess in this case he displayed some extraordinary features of human physiology.
summing up yes he showed great heart :D
I would of said it was heart also, liek the guy above you.But his body was on auto pilot so that wasn't heart. He wasn't even there.

The guy is mexican. His body is born to fight. His body only knows one thing. Is to keep fighting.

Yeah that ****t was crazy, my wife was screaming and stuff when he started convulsing but that motherfukker got up, thats Mexican heart right there!!!
