If AJ controls his desire to crush Parker, and fights tall like Klitschko he can make it a relatively easy night. Has to fight in a controlled fashion using his height and reach and wait for his moment.
The difficulty we all have here isn’t that if his plays out in public we will forever being hearing half a story.
Truth is there will be numerous factors at play which could influence conversations ..
The split - but realistically we probably know 65-35 ish is about where it will end up.
Location - perception of home advantage will be key. Reality is Joshua is well within his right to take his time if he likes so onus is on Wilder to venture to the UK
Rematch clause - this is probably a crucial one. What split is within it (currently wilder always insisted on reverse split, location again). What happens if it’s borefest or one sided? Will demand be for a second fight? For instance say the second fight deal is done for Vegas then Joshua comfortably bests Wilder to a 12-0 decision, what then happens?
Ring size, gloves, referee, judges - all going to be part of it.
The chances are all we will hear about is the “split” but there are going to be many factors at play.
Well said. It's very complex and it won't be done in public.
I think the reason that Wilders team haven't made an offer is because it is really hard for them to be confident on the numbers that they have been throwing around.
In the UK AJ has precedent for the kind of offers Hearn can confidentlymake.
But Wilders team just don't have any data to give them confidence there not going to go broke overbidding Heath. It's a huge rush for them. So unless they can lay most of it of with guaranteed they have to be very careful about making a real offer.
As other people have said it is an interesting fight precisely because we don't really know what Miller can do at this level.
At heavyweight anyone can be hurt. We do know that Klitschko has serious power and that Whyte has serious power and AJ has survived being clipped by them. The question is whether a fighter is sound and smart. I think AJ is but we shall see.
What is absolutely clear is that AJ has serious power. Anyone he connects with is out of there pretty fast. He is explosive and heavy handed. If Miller has defensive weaknesses AJ will find them, he's a thinking fighter. And if he finds them he will hurt Miller. I don't think anyone can take those shots. So I expect AJ to finish him, probably around 8.
No a lot of people said it was too soon. Plus he was in good shape it may have been an 18 month lay off but he was in training camp for much of that time. Klitchko in your 15th fight is a risk no Matter how you look at it. I mean aj could’ve lost that fight. Bear in mind around that time other champions were fighting the likes of Gerald Washington and Chris arreola, you honestly going to tell me klitchko wasn’t a risk for a very inexperienced champion who hadn’t gone beyond 7 rounds at that point
Absolutely right.
And for anyone who watched the fight Klitschko was in amazing shape, moving really well until the moment he got caught.
It's funny - before the fight I posted that the best possible outcome would be a tough fight for Wider that he came through.
Just like AJ and K.
And that's exactly what we got.
Like Klitschko, Ortiz showed up.
Like Klitschko he asked hard questions.
Mad respect to Wilder for taking the fight. I suspect Ortiz was even better than he thought but you have to give Wider huge props. He was set to fight Provetkin Russua (!) and he took on Ortiz and showed what he's made of when seriously tested by a guy who proved he still has real quality.
We learned a lot about Wilder and it was all good. Made a believer out of me.
Just like we did about AJ.
It's getting seriously interesting!!
This fight is exactly what Wilder needed to show the world. It's a replay of aj/k.
We have learned a lot about aj and w now. Going to be a very interesting fight.
It's embarrassing how many 'fans' seem to feel that the highest value in the sport is $. Canelo throws away a belt so he can demand more money and they're thrilled 'cos he's 'won.' Pathetic. You do realize that it's you he's ****ing? You do understand that hijacking belts and demanding catchweights then when you're cornered dumping them at the last minute is terrible for the sport?
Monumental BS.
Caveman? GGG was one of the most successful amateurs ever. World championship gold. Olympic silver robbed of gold by Russian judges.
This is SRLeonard about GGG

Snr was a great fighter but sadly he can behave like a dickhead. Hopefully they'll come back to planet earth and the fight can be made in the future. Feel sorry for Jnr.
Ward at 168 is a great fight. GGG isn't a big MW but I can see him making SMW. He may well not beat Ward but it is a decently matched fight.
Ward at 175 looks very tough for GGG. GGG just isn't that big a guy but Ward has been bumping above 168 for years - he's got the frame for it. I'm not saying this fight won't happen because if things go well for them both it will be a huge money fight, but I don't see it as a decently matched fight.
There is actually a pretty simple way of having an extremely good idea of who is dirty.
If a fighter moves up and puts on a lot of muscle fast - they're dirty. It's that simple. It is physiologically impossible to put on a lot of lean muscle fast. And that is even if your whole training/living regime is dedicated to absolutely nothing else than muscle gains - which is not true of fighters.
The thing about boxing and wrestling and MMA is that the athletes are weighed and they cut to make weight so when they move up you are comparing like with like. They have cut out water for example so it's a pretty good measure of lean muscle mass and indeed they look shredded. This being the case you can tell if someone has put on pounds of what looks like lean muscle in a short time.
To anyone who knows sports science/physiology and sports like bodybuilding this is no mystery.
